Yep, might be worth staying up for tonight. Let's hope the coaches don't get in the way...
-
I hope it's not Frost either, and don't think it will be. This is the job we brought May in to do.
-
I've said before that I would prefer Jordon gets a call up. JKH deserves a run on form and Jordon has shown enough in recent games to put him ahead of the Wagners to my mind. Must be getting close.
-
Did you see Collingwood or Hawthorn on Friday night, Essendon the week before... The standard is probably at it's lowest in the AFL at the moment, it's turn over city out there. Whilst I agree we have a lot of work to do we're no Robinson Crusoe.

'I will become a 6000-pound gorilla on this': Suns to ask for No.1 pick When I saw the '6000 pound' headline the first I thought was they were making fun of Dew.

On SEN Today the following question was raised
rjay replied to picket fence's topic in Melbourne Demons
If we traded Pruess we would then be the ruck poor club... As we may have noticed yesterday, a back up for Max is pretty important I would have thought. -
This might not be popular opinion but... We've all been waiting for Christian Petracca to announce him self on the big stage...waiting for the big break out game. I think he's actually done it through the back door. No break out game but just some really good footy over the last period. Little by little. He's trusting himself more to take the shots, to break the packs, take on the game and he's hitting the scoreboard. He might not become elite or the player some had hoped for but he's heading towards "A' grade very quickly. He's a very good and important player to the team. Now...if he could fix up his set shots the sky would be the limit.

You're old enough to know that there are very few certainties in this life 'old dee'... ...but Weid has surprised and stepped up before and I wouldn't be surprised to see him surprise again. There you go...a few surprise/surprised there for you.
-
I think the opposite 'EO'... Yes he may get the best defender but he will also be more our focus. It could be the making of him, he just might step up.
-
I would give Jordon a run...can't see the point of bringing Wagner back yet again. Jordon's a kid in good form lately. Can play on ball, wing and back, also uses the ball well. Lever will come back, Max of course if fit..

I wasn't at the game but it looked like Lockhart put time into Simpson today from the replay I was watching & cut his effectiveness, Might be wrong but maybe someone who was at the ground would know????
-
Some of his defensive work & tackling were A grade today. He saved us on a number of occasions with a hand in or by sticking a big tackle. Wasn't a big possession game but he played his part...
-
If you watch that one again, he was blocked by a couple of Carlton defenders & wrestled himself into the best position to take it.... I thought he was ok today. You rarely have 2 key forwards going at the same time & today was Tommy's day. Weid took some nice grabs, gave off some good handballs & did his job in the ruck. My only criticism was his kicking for goal, he's o loverly kick technique wise but wasn't on song today... He's going alright despite what some are saying...

Interesting... I always thought 'Whispering_Jack' was Bruce Wayne to 'KC from Casey' Batman.. ...is he trying to throw us off the track? ...are they different people?
-
No Stephenson, no Collingwood?
-
...but then again the media report of the official report is not necessarily an accurate report either.... Go figure.
-
I think Lewis will go straight into the media when his playing career finishes. I doubt he will stay on as an assistant. No inside info just an observation.
-
Happy to have Bolton on board...have been talking Richo if the Saints dump him as is likely but either would be a good get.
-
Yep, and I think that's a big part of the problem. No new game plan...
-
Yep, remember watching and at about the 20min mark of the Q we had one tackle. It shows all is not well. There is a disconnect somewhere and it's not just between our mids and forwards. There will be some changes made...
-
Don't oh please me 'bin'....Yep, the Pies are 2nd and WC 3rd...where are we? I wish we were near as ineffective as those 2 teams. ... it wouldn't surprise me to see them play off again this year by the way. You are making excuse upon excuse, clutching at straws. WC won the flag with a team missing NicNat, nominally their best player, Gaff best mid and Sheppard a quality defender. It was obvious that we had some problems that needed to be sorted. Those problems have been amplified this year. We need to reset and move forward...
-
First minute...and it wasn't just this game. The warning signs were there through the year.
-
There's no doubt injury is playing a role in our performances this season. ....but another problem started well before the Preliminary final and was shown up in that game. We are too one dimensional with personal (FD & players) and game plan. Was just writing the above when you posted this 'steve'...I'll leave it there and let you fill in the blanks. Pretty much agree with what you are saying here. ...and have expressed similar in my "Writing on the Wall" thread. I just hope Goody is smart enough to learn the lesson...couldn't stand going through another coach.
-
We let them walk through the middle 'bin'...our midfield weren't switched on and got smashed. That was where the game was lost.
-
North & Carlton changed next game... Our coach seems wedded to his current game plan and is too pig headed to change. Changing roles hasn't helped that yet, I suspect it will next year.
