Brayshaw can't or won't play wing, Jordon is a great prospect but I wouldn't back in any of the others you've named. Baker can't find the pill, Dunkley still a bit early to tell without a preseason, JKH depth at best, Stretch VFL level/depth, Hunt time to move on, Kolo may not ever get on the park, Sparrow more likely to make it as Jetta's replacement if he is to make it at all, Wagner C to slow in his decisions and reactions again VLF/depth... Langdon is a must get along with at lest one small forward and then who ever we pick up in the draft. If Brayshaw moves on then it opens up more opportunities to improve the list balance...
  2. We've had 2 for a while now 'SWYL', remember Macca was a senior coach and Rawlings has had senior experience as a caretaker. I think the crucial ingredient to success is that Goodwin is prepared to listen. If he's not we could get all the best, most experienced assistants in the business and it would amount to nothing.
  3. If Brayshaw is part of the Langdon deal I would want Cerra in the mix...I reckon he has a lot of upside and Lyon hasn't helped his development to date.
  4. Well, there's no doubt now that the writing was on the wall early. We didn't recover from last years prelim, with the JLT games signalling this before the Port game. 4 games set the trend. I just didn't think the drop off would be this bad. If I look back at the original post a lot was right, some not so. If I take out the Frost delist call most looks to have held for the season. Max stood up, Oliver picked up possessions but really need a rocket and to get his head out of his a...Tommy Mac drop off, Trac showed he was a good player, maybe not the star we want be was solid. Hibberd a shadow... Outside run was always going to be the issue and still is...no small forwards.
  5. Like the Pies who were going to play Howe forward where we should have played him. He's playing back, where we played him...apparently a genius move by Buckley. Trac will play where it best suits us/them, there are no guaranteed positions in football and his manager know that.

    lol...
  7. What gives me hope is that Goody finally admitted we got it wrong this year. That recognition is crucial and how we go about fixing it will see us bounce back in 2020. ...but the first step is always admitting you got it wrong.
  8. Absolutely 'Ethan'... It's crazy what some are posting on here about wow factor and his St Kilda record. He's here as an assistant and he's one of the best in the business. Very highly regarded. What a great get...
  9. Richo is a great get...I had hoped we would pick him up when the Saints were making life hard for him. Forget his senior record, not all coaches excel in the senior role. Richo is a very, very highly regarded assistant. For the new sayers on here, you seriously have no idea...
  10. Agree 'Diamond'. It's really effected our depth, particularly this season with the added injuries.
  11. They can't of been approved yet 'Nev'... In the end it's a commission decision and they don't meet until after the season. They haven't always gone along and rubber stamped Gill's wishes either. Not saying they won't get it, just that it hasn't been approved.
  12. Like St Kilda did with McEvoy... Stupid move and left them devoid of leadership and ruck talent.
  13. Heard the same from someone close to the club...
  14. I don't know why you think comparing 3 mids who have had a great season to a forward who has the odd run through the middle. It just doesn't stand up... How many forwards have won a Brownlow? It's a much easier position to dominate and get noticed.

Thanks 'Ethan', you never fail to deliver. Needed a good laugh tonight...
  16. I think both their playing days are well over 'ra'... ...but the way we've been going they couldn't do a whole lot worse.
  17. May is a very, very good backman...
  18. We're not talking about the off spin bowler here 'old'... May is an A grader, has struggled to get on the park but if he does (and should with a solid preseason) next year will push for AA.
  19. You are way off the mark with Petracca 'Bombay'... He has ben good in an otherwise lacklustre forward half. If we need him to be a superstar you are probably right but if we need a good player then he is it. Rather than superstar I expect him to step up to A grade for his position. He's the least of our problems.

He's a bit late on that news 'dazzle'... ...but seriously the Saints have been into him since he was drafted & probably before.
  21. This is the biggest positive of the year so far for me...
  22. How did Jordon look today 'dazzle'? Did he play mid or back?

Of course, you're right 'Mach'...but what if he is the problem? I'm not saying he is, but I would like to see every angle looked at after a season like this one. I just hope we're on the right track here. Yet again we've been in the football wilderness and just when it looked like we had turned the corner we get season 2019.
  24. Thanks for the reports and posts over the years 'Drunkn'...we've all appreciated not just the information but the entertaining & passionate way you have presented it. Pass on regards to Dec I'm sure we all appreciate what he has done. Not many can say they've played at the highest level and it's great achievement be it one game or 400. How many of us wish we had the talent to say we had played VFL let alone AFL.
  25. I will support a club that values me as a member. I don't think it's smart to just follow anything with blind loyalty. If they are open, listen to members views and take action then they get my money. If they try to deflect & not take the hard questions at the AGM then they lose me.
