Must be hayes or the ox after his 3rd

A lot of good moves so far in the off season but this is one the mfc got wrong
-
Its my understanding that we either promote evans or delist him...would have thought he has shown a bit when not injured and would be worth keeping
-
Massive call if true... The kid looked good in the half dozen casey games i saw looked like he could be a very good half back flank was looking forward to our half back line being- sheehan, mcdonald, watts Is there a minimum turnover requirement for the rookie draft like there is for nab draft

If we turn over 10 players from our list i would like to see joel mac gone as i think he is in our bottom 10. After reading the review it would appear he will play on even if we turned over 15 players. He is barely ahead of where warnock was and along with bail and dunn must be bloody impressive behind closed doors because i cant see how else they get so much love

Doggies are pretty close to being just as bad as we were last year, the main difference being they won our game. They have picks 5 + 6 and we could use one, while the doggies could use a forward line. Martin + petterd + sylvia + pick #20 for pick # 6 One mobile big man, one marking medium tall and a classy flanker/ mid type Maybe wishful thinking but it fills some of their needs and other than sylvia the others are easy replaced sylvia would be a loss but to get something good you must give something good

Difinate get if available at 3rd rnd...not sure whenn else we could get him

If geelong want rivers but need a list spot opened up, what about a trade for mitch brown? Yes he rivers is a FA but so was monfries but port still traded. Would impact our FA compo but if we got brown he might be able to do the pederson role nullifying this "negative"

Kennedy...goal kicking small forward with good pace who can also do clearance work

While i agree that neeld has and is doing a great job of transforming the list i still maintain that pick 20 alone should be enough to get the deal done. How much more do you think we should be willing to give up in order to get him accross -

this is true but collingwood want more than "just" pick 20 which i believe is a sticking point for most -
i think the last sentence sums it up, and unfortunately thua far under the neeld regime he hasnt seemed to step it up the notch the required notch. Its the difference between high school and university. At high schook you have a teacher berating you about your homework if its late, at uni you just get a fail...i think neeld is sick of nagging I would like to see him retained because he does have the skills to be a good player however i think it comes down to self motivation and does gys have it

Collingwood reckon pick 20 is not enough??! They are kidding themselves. They went and recruited lynch to specifically play the position and role that dawes currerntly occupies, meaning they cant be to impressed with his performance. If 20 doesnt get it done then good riddance to him, and pederson/gumbleton will have to do, and pederson specifically will do just fine. Play him forward, then rotate him down back so sellar can ruck while jamar rests forward. done deal. -
http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/149575/default.aspx if we are after russell then there is one less club to compete with. What ever happened to the david ellard rumours...would have thought he could be a handy fwd pocket

http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/149583/default.aspx its official, he wants to come home to vic...might sign with brissy lol

i agree whole-heartedly that it isn't much better, but it wont be the 10year forward line we'll be making a flag tilt with until 2014 and the introduction of hogan. pederson or gumby for a 3rd rnd pick i could understand but from 2014 onwards whoever we pick up becomes a depth player imo behind clark and hogan...a first rnd pick seems wasteful if traded for mediocre kpf.
-
they dont have to be as good as cox and nic nat, just play a similair role. Fitzy played the year as a fwd pinch hitting the ruck very well at casey all year and if his development continues next year he could be every bit as useful as dawes or gumby. 2013 fwd line- byrnes clark fitz sylvia watts howe if you rotate fitz with jamar throughout the match i think we could retain solid structure and not have to give up a first rnd pick on a caretaker kpf

With talks stalled between gws and giles is there a chance we could trade martin/spencer (replacement ruck) + petterd (hard bodied fwd, perfect 3rd tall behind cameron and patton) + pick 20 for pick 13 back. Mfc net loss to gws- pick 3 + martin/spencer + petterd Mfc net gain from gws- hogan + barry seems almost weighted in gws favour but the player we could get at 13 compared to 20 could be significant. also what would we really be giving up in terms of players? I can see all 3 struggle to get a game in years ahead as gawn/fitz take over the ruck and petterd cant get a game now and our forward line is a shambles so they would not be a huge loss. especially if we are able to then use picks 4 and 13 to draft ready to go types
-
i dont think using pick 20 to trade in a key forward for 12months is good value. I also dont think 1gun mid + viney is a massive return for the talent in this draft. If we traded pick 4+20 and got picks 12+13 i think we could get some exciting midfield speed and class.
-
even throw in our pick 20 to get the deal done. The recruitment of hogan indicates that this year will be largely laying the ground work for 2014 so why not commit fully to the process. Get the two mid round picks, get stringer and kennedy and have 12months to decide whether to play them as forward, mid or both. Trading in gumbleton or even dawes seems a bandaid solutiin, and a wasteful one at that, considering our 2starting talls will be hogan and clark in 2014. A first round draft pick for a depth player seems excessive, especially when we have sellar, we have fitzy and dare i say we do potentially have watts to play forward this year.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/149069/default.aspx states that his knee is good, and that troy's injuries were caused by collisions rather than weak joints

wouldn't getting moore as a delisted fa effect the quality of our compo for moloney?

There is talk we could be using our pick13 for him... I really hope this isnt the case, imo thats massive overs. I guess the pic becomes clearer tommoro when we find out about viney -
martin for wellingham would be a good deal for us, arguably better than for the pies, but stevens for martin seems a bit of a swing back the other way. Martin is an agile, speedy athletic big man and there arent too many of those in the league. Stevens seems more like a rohan bail 2.0, same basic talent but with better disposal. maybe upgrade our early 4th rnd pick for one of either teams late 3rd round picks. there would only been half a dozen picks difference but it might be the difference between getting swan or one of those othet late picks noone can remember

essendon this year should be a cautionary tale about pushing the boys too hard too soon. If they really were in the abismal condition previously stated the building the base over a few years may be the only way to do it properly without a multitude of soft tissue injuries
