  1. No mention of getting sellar to fill the role for 18months IF we go the hogan route? He started to look half decent towards the end of the year. seems a confidence player and with a bloke like clark revving you up and a couple of smalls turning your crumbs into goals i think he could surprise a few on here. Still i liked what he did down back and would rather williams or fitzy step up..or even watts i suppose edit- just mentioned it in another 'who should we get' thread, but it fits this thread also; I would like to see us throw some players and/or picks at the suns and see if we could get dixon or lynch
  2. I dont think we will see our delist list until after tradeweek... Neeld will probably wait to see who he can trade away before culling them wholesale
  3. There is an argument that he should've been captain THIS year but the beds been made and the jacks will do alright with it for the next decade or so
  4. Leigh williams or jack fitzpatrick would be my 2 inhouse choices. Both big bodies, only seen a couple of games of williams but seems more than happy to throw his frame at a pack. fitzy's work at casey this year has been nothing short of sensational. he is acceptable below his knees with a decent turn of speed which he uses to chase! as well as on the lead. both could deffinately use some more preperation and will only come on stronger next year in my opinion and be knocking on the door. Would love to be able to say the same about watts...havent seen much from him since he ran down lewis jetta on the mcg wing in 2010! Robbie Tarrant from north would go alright, seems the type who would step up if given extra responsibility. at north he is a long way down the pecking order, could be worth a look. Lynch as a stay at home could add some good structure but seems like he is out of reach. Dawes for martin?? cant help but think they are virtually the same player
  5. i'd rather they give sheahan or davis a crack... Would much prefer the money to be used fora ready to go midfield or forward
  6. Fark, lets just offer chappy a 4 year deal with years 3and4 as a training officer/mentor/runner (very specifically avoid calling him an assistant coach) For the 2years he plays he would be in prob our top 5 and afterwards...you want a strong culture of not backing down from hard work or a fight then chappy is the man for the job
  7. Backs- *tynan* mcdonald garland *new* frawley *sheehan* mcdonald, frawley take the big boys garland, tynan mid size/smalls *sheehan*, *new* rebounders (sheehans a roughy but you dont win the falcons bnf if youre no good) Mids- grimes mckenzie trengove jamar *viney* jones mckenzie tagging *viney*, jones extracting grimes, trengove delivering Forwards- blease watts howe *new* clark sylvia watts, howe, sylvia roaming/ leading up to the wings clark inside 50 *new* and blease crumbing Bench- *taggert*, nicholson, *williams*, *new* Midfield rotators- *tynan*, *new def*, both captain jacks, blease, howe, *new fwd*, sylvia, *taggert*, nicholson, *new int* Needs (silky skilled, quick and accurate disposls implied)- 1. Crumbing fwd, not just short and fast also genuine reader of the ball off packs and can snap the odd miracle 2. Rebounding defender who can play through the midfield at times 3. Midfielders midfielders midfielders, the more of those speedy little buggers the better 4. The ** players currently on the list to step up and from what i've seen and read they seem the likely ones on the list with both the skills AND desire to succeed ( no good having one without the other...wish i could put troy davis or jack fitzpatricks head on sylvia, watts or cooks body) The order of the needs isn't necassarily the order we should draft as the quality mids are sure to go before small forwards I've got 8 ** players...maybe being too charitable to the others
  8. Last small forward we got from bombers; gary moorcroft...how did that work out for us? Even my mate who is refered to by all and sundry as 'bomber' calls him 'hollywood' monfries! Weak choice and seems like buying games just because we have the spare cash like a packet of chewy at the supermarket cash register
  9. Draft 3. toumpas 4. kennedy 13. stringer FA. young lynch Trade. David Ellard Koby Stevens Jesse White??
  10. Wasnt interested initially but as the FA list shortens his value as a stay at home forward increases, especially if we draft/recruit some good quick crumbing types (which we surely must). The more time clark can spend in the forward line and outt of the ruck the better
  11. Cook if your talking skills williams by a country mile if your talking effort, desire, application and i think those are attributes make up for any shortfalls would love to see him given a crack next year
  12. If we get a 2nd round compo pick for FA we could trade it to eagles for him? otherwise we would be offering overs ( 1st rnd pick) or unders(3rd round pick ) for him and the deal would probably not happen
  13. the only knock against this kid seems to be his hight but if his skills and speed are as good as advertised i see it as a non issue... I believe this kid could be every bit as important to the mfc revival, if not more so than toumpas. I would say farmer was the last properly dynamic small forward we had and thats going back a long way
  14. So if beamer rivers and bate all get optioned and we only pick up lynch to stand at the top of the goal square to create crumbs we get a 2nd round pick straight after the one we use for viney ((hopefully)? Because that would mean we effectively get a top 10 draftee for free.. Wishful thinking or realistic possibility?

    Josh Toy

Wait for him to be delisted, rookie draft at least then he wont clog a spot for someone good
  16. why would you let your kids watch that crap
  17. carlton and richmond didnt rate gc either... 15 players is a lot and part of me welcomes the change. things are drastically wrong at the moment so drastic change is necessary...gysberts,davis and cook are 3 i hope get kept if only because they havent been given a chance to show their wares while rohan 'cant hit a 20m pass on the run' bail continue to get games. Annoys me to say but; bail, dunn, jetta and macdonald will all be retained
  18. I'll put my hand up and say AT WORST he will be as good as matty whelan
  19. So disapointing he wont be with us next year and he's gonna be a force if he lines up with adelaide... Alright mfc time to pull up your socks and get us something of value for him...anyone think a playr + 2nd rnd pick is out of the question?

  21. he also mentions that he used to 'hate' having to watch what his weight and skin folds and then goes on to explain that when he got back home the first thing he did was eat 2 whole magpie geese by himself
  22. Pretty slack not televising the minor premiers
  23. I believe taggert had an issue with one side of his lower back, played through the pain. eventually got the problem sorted but got issues on the other side because the muscles and tendons had been overcompensating while he played hurt so for those calling him soft they should do a little research first and then reassess what they've done with their lives to be so quick to write youngsters off
