  1. would be happy with cross for 2 years thinking we should offer a similair deal to brad sewell who doesn't seem to be getting much love from hawthorn
  2. I am interested to see who plays next year out of taggert v tapscott I also think matt jones, dom barry, michael evans, dean kent will be battling for the same spot
  3. big country keen for next year
  4. out- dunn, pedersen, tapscott, (maybe drop kent and evans so they can get a taste for victory at casey) in- frawley, davis, byrnes (couch and magner)
  5. i want $50 @ whatever odds your offering that as soon as the boys take the field that little bloody jack russell is gonna be straight into young jimmy. i really hope dawes helps the young feller out but would be even happier to lose dunn for a few weeks to clean him up properly. whether or not the boys are willing to cop a melee fine will be a good indicator of where the "team unity" is at
  6. i really don't see sacking neeld and replacing him with an interim caretaker as the answer if we had a third party coach ready and willing and who would be there next year and the years to come then i would say bring him in having said that, at this stage i can't see a reason to keep him next year
  7. dal santo? seems on the outer at st kilda. 29 is towards the end but would be a walk up start maybe 3 years $1.8mil
  8. garland frawley terlich dunn mcdonald strauss trengove mckenzie jones howe fitzpatrick sylvia byrnes dawes gawn spencer jones viney int- tapscott magner evans (sub kent) outs- grimes, nicholson, bail ins- fitzpatrick, dawes, magner had a bit of difficulty squeezing a mid out so as to include magner and even now the bench seems lacking in height. bail tries and tries but unfortunately he is a jack of all trades, master of none type. mckenzie and dunn can tag better, m.jones and evans are more effective as spreading mids and trengove and tapscott are better inside the forward 50. nicholson was more a victim of circumstance than anything. i don't like to see players come in for a week then out again as they should generally be given a chance to redeem any shortfalls the next week but fitzy needs to come in and it came down to nicho v tapscott. grimes is pretty obvious. i like the look of a 3 tall forward line, with byrnes and sylvia lurking at their feet and howe trying to jump over their heads. should make for some interesting match ups and spread the suns defence.
  9. not much of a silver lining but we will now get to see if magner can bring his vfl form up to the big leagues
  10. said in jest but with a certain amount of validity. davis has the attributes of a good defender, he just lacks disposal skill (albeit massively lacking) i think if he was given strict instruction to just bang the ball 50m down the line he could be quite effective as a spoiling defender
  11. does 6-8 weeks qualify as long term injury list? if so magner would have to be a chance surely?
  12. fb- nicholson frawley garland hb- grimes pedersen terlich c- sylvia mckeznie trengove hf-howe watts evans ff- dawes gawn byrnes foll- jamar, jones, viney int- rodan, jones, bail (sub blease ) outs- tapscott: too ineffective mcdonald: needs a rest and a confidence boost davey: too ineffective ins- nicholson: straight to yarran/garlett/betts dawes: paid to be a goal kicking big man viney: because we NEED him
  13. outs-clark, viney, jetta ins-rodan, blease, mckenzie fb- terlich frawley garland hb- watts mcdonald grimes c- trengove mckenzie rodan hf- howe pedersen evans ff- byrnes gawn tapscott foll- jamar jones sylvia int- bail, m.jones, davey (sub blease) i think that rodan has been harshly dealt with thus far. would like to see what he can do with a whole game in a side that should be up and about. blease should be a good impact sub, super quick but his lack of endurance is well documented. pedersen to stick to forward role, gawn pinch hitting if pedersen ineffective, swap with watts
  14. Play gawn at full fwd...well over 200cm and led the tackle count in vfl rnd 2. Would be a much better pinch hitter in the ruck than pedersen
  15. Joel corey seems like a player who could add to our midfield while being outside geelongs best 22 Robinson is the exact type of player we need...unrelenting kamikaze type who refuses to lose 1on1 Would he want to come to melb? Why would anyone want to at the moment?
  16. terlich sellar garland watts mcdonald grimes tapscott mckenzie trengove howe clark sylvia davey gawn rodan jamar n.jones viney m.jones, evans, bail, kent out- frawley, toumpas, byrnes, pedersen, jetta in- watts, mckenzie, rodan, kent, gawn
  17. i willingly concede that he is lacking in physical strength but his pace advantage is such that he shouldn't get beaten on the lead.Le cras is a special beast and i dont think gws have a "like" player. I am just sick of him being unaccountable. set him a task in black and white so that during the review there are no more excuses
  18. isn't the point of playing watts in defence to educate him? Whats he going to learn playing as a loose man picking up cheap kicks accross half back? Personally i would've had him play on darling yesterday for the same reasons.
  19. Put watts on cameron and tell him to stick to him like dags on a sheeps arse
  20. lyon was doing the right thing by answering only those questions posed directly at him. whether he/we like it or not if he gets involved in debate then whatever he says becomes the next days headlines. had he pondered out loud that he thought schwab should go then at the moment of resignation everyone would be saying that it was at lyons behest that the ceo was gone. it wouldn't worry me that lyon is staying away now if he had've stayed away back in 2011... seems to me like he is saying "i've made your bed now lay in it" edit- if brayshaw can juggle all his media commitments and still be president at north then lyon should re-evaluate his position and how much the MFC really means to him
  21. outs:blease, jamar, sellar, gillies, nicholson, watts ins: kent, gawn, pederson, tynan, tapscott, mckenzie FB: garland frawley tynan HB: terlich mcdonald grimes C: howe mckenzie trengove HF: rodan pederson davey FF: tapscott clark byrnes FOLL: gawn jones viney INT: kent, toumpas, m. jones (sub sylvia)
  22. I'll never forget a couple of years back when we gave the swans a thrashing at the g when first watts and then frawley chased jetta down
  23. i would be just as happy with le cras, prob alot cheaper
  24. all stars- big country
