  1. SEN this morning seemed to think he was a good chance to be a demon next year. I think for the next couple of weeks journalists are just throwing darts at a board and reporting where it lands.
  2. http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/148877/default.aspx must be catching on... The article repeatedly mentions a replayed grand final if the game had been tied. I was under the impression that after 2010 they changed the rules and brought in extra time
  3. Is there any actual rivers fa info in this thread? Seems like alot of discussion about different players attributes.
  4. Still have faith that petterd could be our gunston. Easily one of the most frustrating players on the list because all know he COULD do it. If he can get his shite together will be dangerous as a 3rd or 4th tall with howe
  5. Update http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/148830/default.aspx
  6. According to Barrett on Triple M it's Collingwood out in front for Lynch, Chris Knights 99% Richmond's and Byrne's probably to off to Melbourne ...
  7. If fitness is his only knock then we should definitely make a play for him. With Misson and co this is one area of his game which seems hard to stuff up...although the weapon did a good job and Essendon lol
  8. how did collingwood go against sydney without maxwell? how do you think hawthorn would do without gibson? the third man up or floating defender role is massively under rated and can only be done byba few with any success. I just hope he isnt leaving due to being forced up forward for half the year. a position he has shown no interest in playing in the past and was only really needed because of the slow progression of watts
  9. Update Eagle midfielder wants out To the mods- why edit this post??
  10. Similarities between the goal Jimmy Toumpas kicked in last year's SANFL final and Macrea's point this year.
  11. My point is that bio stats dont tell the whole story, and under the MFC training regime he would probably drop kilos rather than gain them initially. pavlich played plenty of good games through the midfield and probably still would if he were younger Patrick dangerfield 189cm 92kg...started off in a pocket/flank before moving to the midfield. Dangerfield certainly never played as a power foward. And i still maintain we need outside run more than inside grunt from this draft
  12. Boombingbangwaddadouche Are you saying we don't need quick skilled outside mids who can rotate forward and play as small forwards? Easy to be a critic when not putting in your own opinions
  13. Magner and couch were 2examples of 8 given, you dont rate any of the others? Your main rebuttal seems centred around mckenzie despite his absence from that list of 8 players and completely ignores the fact that by your own words with jones and viney we are two thirds of the way towards having a top 4 midfield in regards to inside mids. i fully agree that our midfield is a source of massive concern, however i think we have the raw talent to develop our inside stocks. i just dont see where our classy and speedy outside run is going to come from other than the 2 names i mentioned earlier. Speedy crumbing types, especially in the vein of kennedy or stringer, can be extremely valuable rotating forward as crumbing types adding to their versatility.
  14. that you are able to function and use a computer despite your serious dementia is truly admirable and an inspiration. Your helpers must do an amazing job. You mention 2 A grade mids from hawthorn and sydney (mitchell and sewell, kennedy and hannebry). You also mention a defender for some reason, but a simple mistake for one in your condition. mcveigh is about as genuine inside mid as matthew bate. not comparing skills only positions. Not sure i would qualify beams or dangerfield as damaging inside mids, danger especially is most damaging on the outside. Regardless, even if all you examples were 100% accurate you name 3 per side. MFC A graders to be- jones, viney AND ONE OF; taggert, gysberts, magner, couch, tynan, tapscott, trengove, grimes are you suggesting that we are incapable of developing JUST ONE of those to A grade to get to your magical 3rd inside mid which on its own will propel us to the top 4? Alot of adelaides and sydneys success comes on the back of their OUTSIDE RUN. It starts on the inside this is true, but the ball is then delivered to the OUTSIDE RUNNERS, who are able to link the play by breaking the lines and delivering the ball to their fowards. Other than sam blease and nicholson (if he can clean up his disposal) there are few on our list capable of such feats and i see this as a glaring hole we could go a long way to fixing this draft.
  15. It all depends when we get Viney. Personally, I think with Jones, Viney, Magner, Couch, Gysberts and McKenzie (maybe add Taggert) our inside mid depth isn't too awful. It just needs development. It's our outside run, carry and delivery that is most lacking (other than key forwards). If we miss Toumpas I think Kennedy is a must.
  16. This kid sounds promising and could work out as a VERY NICE "consolation prize" if we dont get kennedy or toumpas like most others i see the need for picking up hogan using either pick 3or4 but there is alot of really exciting midfield types this year.
  17. half right... The TITANIUM BAR, or [censored] bar as we called it, where i used to go 3 or 4 times a week (cheap drinks and cheap feed during free poker), is indeed on a canal just off the main strip of surfers paradise. Their ground (skilled park) is in robina and away from all canals. What they do do though is run free shuttle buses from 4or5 different locations (mostly pubs) which works really well because it is public transport/ taxi access only. Pain in the ass trying to leave tho
  18. so a player can be traded in the first year of a new contract?
  19. i vaguely remember, i was 6or7 at the time, they did brinh out little cartoon kids books for the whole league in the mid 90's...i think the dees one had tingay, schwarz and lyon in it as well as others i cant remember now. I remember it had the club song, both verses, at the back and i used to get in arguments with adult demon supporters because many didnt know the second verse existed (and i was a bit of a smartass with my know-it-all-ism at the time) Wonder if they could do an updated re-release.
  20. On other threads it mentions that players cant be traded in the first year of a new contract. Stevens is currently out of contract so if he resigns he cant be traded? Therefore this entire thread amounts to "will stevens walk out on eagles and if so should we use an ND pick on him or hope he falls through to the PSD?"
  21. Seems like a replacement for sellar only we haven't got rid of him. His versatility seems very neeldish and if he did become a dee it would be interesting to see if he played back or forward. no watts up forward?
  22. I'm always happy to have discussions with knowledgeable footy fans which you seem to be. My proposal of approaching him directly and not giving up picks was on the premise that he wasn't resigned by the eagles which would put him into the "delisted FA" bracket...i may not have been as clear as i could have been, or i still might be missing something. Is there any media speculation linking MFC to stevens? If there is, given the lack of opportunities out west and how late in the year it is and they haven't put pen to paper, is there any chance he could walk? And would walking make him a "delisted FA"
  23. Is stevens even out of contract? Because after readinf the updated FA rules if west coast dont resign him then we can just approach him directly and not have to give up any picks
