  1. I think Dunn is a Heffernan type that in a good side would be a handy pinch hitter but in a poor side is not quite skilled enough to make something of it himself. I feel he should be on the trade table and his future dependant on who else can be picked up. Not to be delisted regardless as some others.
  2. Did they let you on the plane with that collar on?
  3. ok Stinga, my mistake. i think thats UFA i might be thinking of
  4. moloney is a free agent. clubs dont have to enter a trade with us to get him. he can just walk. an error on the part of the afl.com journo who wrote this fantasy trade idea.
  5. Ill get shouted down for being racist but im going to say it anyway. MFC and all clubs need to really consider whether its smart recruiting to pick up these guys from the aboriginal communities. They can be extrememly talented but the cultural divide can be so wide that these issues seem to crop up more often than not. THese lads from the remote communities have such a different upbringing and culture than others. This is not being racist as i feel an aboriginal bloke brought up in a country town or a city does not have this cultural divide. Look over history of the afl/vfl. its littered with blokes from remote communities that although brilliant footballers struggled to adapt to the new life. Nicky Winmar, Sean Charles, Wonna, even that talent waylon manson that couldnt get his [censored] together to get drafted last year. Id like to see the club take this in to consideration when drafting. Whats the point in putting time and money in to the development of a kid when hes just going to take off everytime he gets homesick or theres trouble back in his community. i love what they bring to footy and are great people but the club is in the afl to win premierships. we cant afford to keep tip toeing around issues like this and not know when the next time is that one of out more talented players is going to get homesick and bugger off. Instead of hiding behind the curtain of political correctness lets all admit there is a massive cultural change for a kid to move to the city. If i moved to yuendumu to play footy id problay head home alot as well. its a very big ask for these guys to come to the big smoke and play footy for a career. More often than not, a too big a ask. I hope the MFC supports Liam as much as it can but i do feel these recurring issues should be stroingly considered next time the club is considering drafting a kid from the remote communities.
  6. I always felt we could get viney in teh 2nd round but im pretty certain GC will swap their 1st pick for the u17. this gives GWS the first 2 picks. Whitfield and then the possibility of bidding for viney without the risk of losing their 1st round draft pick should we call their bluff. GC will outbid us for Martin(u17) if they want to.
  7. Guilty of being a bell end. go and support someone else. youre type of supporter is not welcome here
  8. Be VERY VERY careful what you wish for.
  9. I love reading your posts Tonatopia. You are probaly the least clued up individual on this site. all your posts reflect a very poor understanding of how footy clubs run and whats required to achieve sporting success. Still, its always an entertaining read.
  10. Well summed up. thats exactly whats happening. the building site currently looks like a tip. overgrown with dilapidated buildings. the engineers are still surveying the site. the earth moving starts in October
  11. Get over yourself mate. you seem to be one of these PC types that takes the world just a bit too seriously. We all did hisstory. we know what happened. The irony in Biffens comments seemed to go over your head a bit. Chill out and let people express themselves. no harm done.
  12. A very well summed up analysis of where the club sits RB. I would love more supporters to be able to see this. i am encouraged by the change in attitude with the playing group. yeah the skills are ordinary and the team is playing like [censored] but they are playing a hard accountable brand of footy. the rest will change with some good drafting and recruiting.
  13. Not at all. the players and coach need to be given time . its all about the development of the game plan. they had a dip tonight. it was a good honest loss.
  14. Haha, not happy about that one, dazzledavey
  15. fantastic post. hits the nail on the head.
  16. Guys, im hoping he stays and plays himself in to some form , whether reinventing his game or just getting back his form im not sure which , but i do think he is still a contributer going forward .I have to say though, Neelds reaction yesterday in the press conference when asked if moloney was still seen as a required player was very interesting. I normally dont try and read in to too much but the normal delivery of Neelds answers was not there. he seemed very unconvinced and not very keen to make eye contact or continue with the questioning. Who knows what the FD is planning but watch the interview again. could be telling.
  17. Scotty, a very valid point you have made. too many 'hopefuls' have just not come on in development. perhaps we have not been looking at the right 'pile of deadwood'. Which support staff are perhaps responsible for our poor development? these need to go or we are a few months away from drafting MORE 'deadwood'..
  18. Id be happy to look at trading jurrah regardless. I think he will only ever be a flash in the pan player unfortunately. the odd patch of brilliance but many games with not much to offer and regular injuries. i hope im wrong and would want nothing less than a successful career for him regardless of teh team he plays in but im not convinced. Id like to keep our picks. I think sheeds would look at moloney as someone who could stiffen up their midfield but moloney alone would not do. we'd have to offer somone else as well. perhaps moloney and jurrah for hogan. that would be a result.
  19. you are probaly the most short sighted poster on this site. If you think a coach can be responsible when hes only been in the job for 1/2 a season then im pretty sure you have never spent any time around a footy club OR a sporting club at all. i guess you were a chess player at school. i wouldnt imagine any influence(positive or negative) attributed to neelds appointement could be evident until at least after next pre season. coaches arent jedi knights. they can teach, demand and lead but bad/good habits dont disappear/appear over 1/2 a season. its hilarious that anyone would even think that.i dont have an opinion of neeld yet. i am observing and will no doubt feel able to do so in 6 to 12 months. anything sooner is just emotional fluff. tonatopia, you seem to have a real boner for neelds sacking. either a troll and if so you should be banned form the site, or more likely just have no clue about the game of footy and sport in general.
  20. I do see some of the posters points of view that holding viney off wouldnt work. I think it might but i dont disagree entirely with some of the other opinions. What i strongly disagree with is this idea of just taking whats due to us. its so soft and lacks fighting spirit and desire to do whatever it takes to be the very best.
  21. a bit of creative thinking this draft period could net the club 3 'top 5 ' picks instead of two. How is this a bad thing? OR, the club could approach the issue with an attitude of feeling that we are lucky enough to have jack anyway so lets just not ruffle feathers, take him at 3 and toumpas at 4. Now that approach would net us 2 'top 5' picks. Which approach would collingwood or essendon take in that situation?
  22. no, Jonesbag this is my point. Lets get greedy! why not. just rolling over without a fight and taking him at 3 because he's 'worth it' will mean we get one less top 5 pick. lets manipulate the system as much as possible and get as much as we can. thats the attitude that builds tough no bull**** clubs. im tired of just being nice
  23. Fantastic post Ron burgundy. well structured logic without the post thrashing emotion.
  24. Hmm, yes it did seem too easy. Thanks
