  1. its hard not to 'wander a bit morally' on the Gold Coast to be honest
  2. Dee-luded, i feel exactly the same. i miss the one on one contests as well. the congestion is killing it. I fear some people are mistaking desperate contested congested footy with good football. Desperation is great but those runs up the wing kicking to a one on one at CHF with a crumbing forward front and centre is what i miss. Or those classy chains of handballs out of defense and raking pass to a wingman running to space.
  3. Im not convinced with Barry. He was touted as going late 3rd round/4th round and now hes being compared with Michael Long. He makes Cook look like a Brick Sh*thouse. Before being drafted Bennell could be described in a similar way. I consider him a specualtive bet at best. Barry was the 'steak knives'. Anyway stoked about hogan and so far a very good efforet on behalf of the FD
  4. I know its early days but the player of the year is M.Neeld . Im quietly impressed with the way the FD has gone about this period. On field we are rubbish atm but our FD are rollin with the big boys. Shaking a few trees i think. Aggressive but smart play. I have full confidence in the draft/trade decisioon making process for the first time in years
  5. It would be interesting to see how mcdonald would go as a key forward. This would then possibly open up a spot for davis down back. I like Mcdonald at CHB but if davis could get a few games and go alright then we would really creat a lot of versatility through the key posts
  6. An all too common reflection on society itself. these types of little $%^ts think the world owes them something and arent prepared to put in the hard yards for success. Demand for instant gratification. The type of kid Viney would not tolerate in the rooms id say
  7. Dandeeman, your avatar looks like my boss. VERY much like my boss.
  8. You were there, Choko?! In years to come thats going to be like saying you were in new york on 11/9/01. one day ill meet a "survivor" and will ask what it was like in geelong that day
  9. Being positive and hoping the dees will be pushing for a premiership in a few years . Unfortunately for all of us though is that this dees side is going to be coming good in the same era as the suns and giamts. Just like 88 and 2000 we will be possibly trying to win a cup against some of teh all time great teams. talk about rotten luck.
  10. im always a bit wary of picking WA kids, theres a huge go home factor for perth kids. adelaide kids seem stoked to get out of that shithole but perth kids seem to love going home.
  11. did he make a comment about your neck collar?
  12. good for you DL7. youve seen some lean times in your barracking time but good times ahead!
  13. grun dee, copy and paste the article name in google then search for it. you can read it for free via google
  14. the game is so less watchable since the rotations started increasing. whatever it takes to reduce them is what im in favour of. Remember 10 years ago, most players played all or nearly all of the game and they still coped. they cover more ground now, but thats the reason its so congested.. in teh geelong freo game i counted 33 players inside the F50. thats just ridiculous. the players need to be slowed down a bit to make the games more positional again. maybe even cancel the sub altogether, just cap the rotations or slow them down by putting time minimums on them. bring it back to the good old days.
  15. yes hopefully so. Whats pederson like? ive never seen him play?
  16. General, thats what its all going to come down to in the end, isnt it
  17. the strategy has to be to use high draft picks to take the BEST talent available. It doesnt matter if a club takes too many of one type. Quality players can be used as currency in later years in trade negotiations where a club can use excess talent to trade for a 'need'. MFC, scoop up as much young talent as possible please.
  18. another alternative, though a bit more radical, is to put a minimum time on how long a players stays off for. say 10 minutes. this would naturally slow down the rotations as anyone coming off will be off for a while. coaches will be reluctant to lose a key player for that long. it also bypasses the potential problem caused by a max number of rotations per team when there is an injury after the team has reached its maximum. this would be an issue with the option touted by the afl instead say unlimited rotations but anyone who comes off is off for 10 minutes. 4 man bench, unlimited rotations, no sub, 10min off minimum.
