Nah, i disagree. if pick 12 in any draft can offer a 23yr old ready made 200cm key forward with tonnes of mobility youd take it every time. i cant believe we got him for just pick 12. love doing business with the lions!!
Its not just Clark we are getting from this 600k. Its the ability to free up watts, jurrah and even Martin - thats the real value of this trade i believe. Its almost like picking up 2 extra guns if this move can allow jurrah and watts to get the lesser defenders. The knock on effect of obtaining Clark could be very beneficial.
I disagree. He is one of the best in the business and they dont grow on trees. Look at Nettlefold. We can be thankful we dont have him as ceo. CS is very astute and knows the business inside out. We should hang on to him at this stage. Of course he takes a decent wage but his passion for the club is clear to see and that quality is a huge asset to the club. I agree he may have been part of the problem as far as getting to o involved in the FD but his intentions were honest and its clear hes been wound in a bit and been sat down and had his role clarified. Fantastic contribution overall, CS
Im happy the club still has those compos up its sleeve. therell be a bunch of gun midfielders from GWS that by this time next year will be sick of getting their wheels nicked off their new cars every time they go to training. theyll be begging to come back to Vic
Blease off HB is potentially a real weapon. I would not be suprised if sylvia can be re invented as a real goer in the engine room as well. If so, him along with moloney and jones and eventually viney can inject some real muscle around the ball. Sylvia is a bit lazy around the ball at times but if neeld can give him a good kick up the **** the side has some real inside strength
Im glad we didnt get Ball or Judd. The team wasnt ready for them and we wouldve had one of the greats of the game chasing jumpers all day. Its delusional to think Judd wouldve made us a top 8 side. sure we may have one more games but in the end it wouldnt have put the dees in a finals winning position. A waste of a unique talent and a waste of dollars. Now the team is ready to bring in elite talent in preparation for a launch at a premiership
No Jordie, I agree. Theres a rush of blood to the head after Clarks signing but Im sure TH will be carefully planning the allocation of these picks. Id like to see the club keep them for next year. After a season of GWS playing their new kids there may emerge some guns that dont want to stay in sydney. as well as the high demand for 1st round picks from other clubs.
I think the club should be careful not to jump at the first kid that's up for trade. One compo pick would be right but no more. The powders dry and there will be plenty to choose from after next season once GWS has blooded them for us!
why does anyone give a stuff what these guys say or write? Id never heard of greg denham till this week. journos make their living from opinion. Melbourne supporters are a wee biut sensitive. theres only one way to throw it all back in these journos faces and that process started a few weeks ago. Cant wait for season 2012!!
Its interesting that when the news came out Clark had rejected MFCs first offer posters were up in arms that another top player had refused to join the club. Now that MFC got their man these posters are now complaining the club paid too much! A fantastic get who will had some real potency to the forward line and allow other players to play their natural game - referring to watts and Jurrah. the ability to be able to play Martin back is a real plus.
