  1. the best and most sensible post o this entire scully affair. we all just sound like poor losers bagging this bloke for leaving. we are all die hard fans of the MFC but scully isnt. it was an opportunity not many would turn down and, lets be honest, after 186, MFC appeared to be a fairly rudderless organisation. lets just concentrate on the blokes still wearing the red and blue and remember that as good as scully may be, our premiership hopes never rested squarely on his shoulders (eg, judd and carlton- still no premiership for the blues). i was actually glad the club didnt sign him as the huge salary differential wouldve possibly created discontent amongst the other players and wouldve definitely meant the club wouldnt have been able to compete with the market as our youngsters came out of contract over the next few years.
  2. To win a flag with Scully in teh side would have the Denham types saying we won it because we tanked. To win one without Scully - no recourse for these ****ers.
  3. What I mean is Sylvias attitude and commitment to the side and his own game hopefully is a relic of a past regime. the "old MFC". With Neeld here now, there will be no tolerating of substandard commitment and behaviour.
  4. For the rest of his career, Sylvia will remain a reminder in the locker room of the past - a reminder to what the MFC used to tolerate and put up with. Hopefully, with the change of culture we are all hoping for, he will be a dinosaur of the past.
  5. thats more than we get for a freo game! lol
  6. Juice has a twitter feed?! who follows that?
  7. with jurrah, clark and green all inside 50 theyll need air traffic controllers at the G when the dees play. theyll all have dog days but provided the midfield is winning plenty of footy our forward line looks as dangerous as the good ol days with Lyon, schwarz, neitz and farmer. if sylvia can step up and moloney and jones take it to the next level the inside 50s should be picking up
  8. gee glad the poms didnt consult with demonanders in 1939. they wouldve thrown in the towel and all committed mass suicide the moment hitler fired the first shot. we all demand determination and positive spirit from the playing group but there seem to be plenty on here that need a good dose of it themselves. lets all harden the **** up and throw this bull**** defeatist attitude away.
  9. DONT TELL ME NEWTON HAS SURVIVED ANOTHER LIST CUTTING???!! "teflon" Newton is his new name. maybe hes got some dirt on a board member, lol
  10. What do you guys think Neeld has in store for Bate as far as a role in the side goes? Im flummoxed that the club hung on to him (thought 39 was fair) , which has me curious as to what Neeld has in mind.
  11. its hard enough to get hold of KPP , let alone get rid of them before they mature. The club will show a lot of patience with the big fellas. i think we are in for a good strong era in regards to the tall timber department.
  12. I reckon Cale is the next Chris Judd. just need to get a few pre seasons in to him and he'll dominate with skill and physicality. maybe a bit of Goddard there as well.
  13. Not one post has morton in their best 22. he certainly has a job ahead of him.
  14. Probaly summed up the scully situation perfectly. Unlike us he has no loyalty to MFC. just a boy playing footy who got offered millions to go somewhere else. If i was 20 and playing for, say, freo, and was offered millions to go to another club Id be gone. However i would play it with a straighter bat than $ully did
  15. Our midfield is currently one of the worst for sure but we have the cattle. just need to get some games in to them. a star, strong bodied mid thrown in there will accelerate the process for sure. Blease will be a gun as will trengove.
  16. Bennell could be an option. he has a lot of upside still and love his pace. hasnt really touched his potential yet. greens had his day in the midfield and i dont think its his spot. I prefer him up forward. when you compare those midfields our inexperience is glaring but i think the potential is very promising
  17. I agree he did go missing on occasions but i get the feeling we'll look back to Dustin Martins 2nd year as a typical 2nd season for a young player. i have no doubt he will become an absolute gun. Do you guys see Neeld looking at Bate as a potential midfielder?
  18. Im looking forward to viney cleaning up Scully. nearly worth re drafting B.Pickett for a couple of games.
  19. I think Watts is a bit wasted at CHB. Hes one of the quickest at the club - id like to see them try him on the wing occasionally - ala Barnes in his early days.
  20. Sounds pretty good to me. Jurrah working his magic, Watts presenting across half forward, getting on the end of Bleases dashes through the middle. Dangerous
