Finally Kingy Talks Sense - Free Agency is a Disaster
Norm Smith's Curse replied to rjay's topic in Melbourne Demons
No matter what the rules are it seems Melbourne always get shafted -
yes but we were below AFL standard last year and we won most stats just couldn't kick it between the big sticks. but I think we may be wooden spooners this year.

I think we played better than people here might credit us. Watts was massive, Nate Jones untethered, Vince exciting and Tyson getting plenty of the footy. We were punished onthe rebound and I'm not sure if this was bad structures or bad execution of structures. Dunn is resurrected. As is Watts.

id try evans as a crumbing forward if he's not injured
-
Im happy with all of the new players - Vince is more exciting and reliable than Sylvia; Dom Tyson will only get better; Michie was so so but will improve; Georgiou was very composed. I never contemplated we would lose that match.

Just watching the replay on the AFL website - gives a different perspective. Sloppy.

I saw neita at the game last night. Most under-rated previous player for mine.
-
Great player but ordinary commentator for mine - always sits on the fence

Yeah id have to agree we didnt dominate in the midfield like I would haev expected.

ROos was right on watts and where to play him
-
Ive heard Brett Ratton and we were really big on (but as we know seemingly missed out on) Stuie Dew

My hangover hasnt budged yet. I think we should have won the game. If we had had Dawes out there we would have won
-
Next week Id say bring in Blease (who has been training well so surprised he didnt get a game), give max king a go and maybe run gawn up forward

I thought Vince and Watts were quite good. Mr Bean is very composed for a new player. But when st kilda turned it over they were just so quick on the rebound. Must admit I thought Trenners and Grimes just didnt have an impact and Cross was MIA which surprised me.
-
I have an unnecessarily bad hangover as a direct result of this game!

Players getting caught with call, team seemed to be treading water from half time and accepting the loss, Trenners missing in action, Watts was great, Vince as well

Duke of Wellington after match sponsor
Norm Smith's Curse replied to Barney Rubble's topic in Melbourne Demons
if there will be any left i will be there! awesome idea! These are the kinds of things that build a community in the club. -
Interesting rumour going around that he is having trouble with medication. From the same source that told me Scully would stay and that Luke Shuey was a Dee. Mitch is one of the few players circav2103 that is actually exciting. Hope he can make it back.

yes he did - he was trying to get preselected for the liberal party lol.

His mate on Facebook claimed that he thought it was pretty mild.

I got there about 11am and watched from the punt rd end. First training I've seen under Roos and co and to reiterate the obvious it was all ball use and game-time simulations rather than athelitics and Roos was so much more involved than Neeld. enjoyed watching. saw miller kick the ball 70 metres to another couch. I was surprised by Watts and how fit he looked. Trenners is a beautiful running kick, Toumpas was training like his life depended on it - very vocal and it seemed Bernie is a cut above at the moment - fast, agile, great kicking accuracy. Cross was also giving his all. I saw Bail kick a running pass straight into Cross (?) 's hands. Also saw Bleasey getting a lot of the ball in the semi match Sims. Pedo, Georgio and Michie were feeling the running. good to see them look like a real footy club. fits looks pretty fit - didn't see any other forwards. every time Chip got the ball all the players were vocal - making him want to stay?? -
No love for Brett Kirk?
