A rooster is a noun right, and chicken is probably a word? Have I learned well today or what?
-
Agree. It's almost like they're playing out of their skins just to reinforce how much they disliked the guy. Watts a few weeks ago stated there were no leaders on the list like other clubs, but tonight he felt like being one of those leaders. What [censored] was Neeld feeding to these players?
-
Yeah I know how it all works now. A win and I learned some stuff I should have learned in grade 4. I'm happy and more complete as a person, super day!
-
lol nouns are for objects, not names, that's my lesson for the day. That, and what it's like to be corrected and hit with a retro, yet cutting comeback, on a public forum.
-
I agree. A win is a win. If we were a good side we could afford to be apathetic about, or even disgusted with that win, but we're not. It is what it is hey. I'm just calling on everybody to chill out.
-
They're nouns.

Show some respect to McKenzie keyboard warrior he is the one putting his life on the line for this club whilst you are probably at home in your comfy lazyboy, stuffing your face with chips!
-
Lol, good luck with that.

Ask Geelong. Enjoy the win

Well this has been a sour twist to an otherwise lovely evenening

hang onto your hats Ladies, Gentlemen. We don't win a lot, it is possible that we don't know how. we better win, i've been gloating to all my doggie friends already.. all 1 of them [censored]

Just heard on SEN that in the last 7 years out of all the Victorian teams we have only beaten the Dons and Tigers. Is this true? surely not. btw, what a night... the Dogs would KILL for our forward line they have no one lol.

Misogynist? Putting aside the fact that I'm a female and was clearly joking, how was what I said misogynistic?

Sign Jesse Hogan up for 5 years (Suns and Jack Martin)
Jesse Christ replied to What's topic in Melbourne Demons
Think Hogan should meet with the new Women's team we have going on. One by one. In private. -
Now if only the other female Melbourne team could win...

I know he didn't have a full pre season (I was being sarcastic ) Who makes the calls on whether a player plays under duress? If it's the players they can't be trusted- they go out underdone because they are fighters but what does that do to the good of the team down the track? Strong clubs put players on the sidelines if they aren't fully fit no matter how important they are to team structure. It's just another little thing we need to fix to become a professional outfit- which I think with PJ and AFL help we are well on our way to being. Finally.

We have a 10+ year dominate FF on our list in Hogan. Our number 1 priority should be keeping him on our list and making him a life time Demon. There will be many wolves at the door but if we can do this it makes all previous heartache subside. What a player he is! What do we do with Clark now haha
-
Like the full pre-season he had this year after being run ragged last year? Even if it is Trengove's decision to keep playing where is the accountability from the coaching staff? He has been mismanaged but I guess that falls in line with our dreadful recent history of player development and management. We probably bought Clark back too early also. I remember the shock at his, what was considered at the time, early inclusion. Shock horror he goes down with another foot injury.
-
I thought the elephant in the room left to head up GWS recruiting.
-
If Trengove gets banned well at least he finally gets a rest, seeing as our coaches are hell bent on running this poor kid into the ground just because he has a "c" next to his name!

Best available, all day every day. Like the successful clubs. Lets keep emotion out of drafting, me need to be ruthless and cunning, and although there is some romance in the idea we are in no position to draft for anything other than players who will successfully fill a role for this under-performing team. Plus his name is Zak. That's a pass.

We trade our first pick to another lowly club who are desperate for a KPF (ala Bulldogs or Saints) for an established midfielder and their first pick. Boyd for established midfielder and pick 3-5 (?)- will be a win for both clubs. They get a target up forward (which we have enough) and we get midfield help and a pick we can do something with. Win all around. Get it done.
-
GC are the anti Melbourne. Sure- they had a bucket load of picks and concessions, but they took advantage of that. They drafted well and have developed well- the players look like seasoned footballers already. to think in their 3 year existence they are not only competitive but winning and producing exciting football, and compare that with the state of affairs at the dees and it tears me up. This further highlights just how much we have got wrong over the years for mine. Cook, Gysberts, Morton etc etc.. mistake, after mistake, after mistake. All the priority pics, still no midfield. It's a disgrace. And the thing that sucks the most is that this new mob are going to win a premiership in my lifetime before we are.

So would I. We need to keep him there for at least a month, we always stuff around with players- sending them to Casey for a week, making them be emergency, elevating them then dropping them back to Casey again and they can't get any kind of continuity in their game. We need to do what the big clubs do- play the kids in the second tier until they are actually ready. I am aware the big clubs can afford to do that with their lists but we aren't doing ourselves any favours throwing our kids to the wolves all the time.

Hate to say it but everybody knows- unless we put some wins together and start looking like an attractive proposition we are not going to be able to attract anyone. And can we please stay away from injury prone players- whoever we bring in needs to be able to string games together, our team already has a history of injuries disrupting team development.
