  1. When is Gawn's contract expire? I feel we have to manage very carefully how to keep Gawn on the list whilst squeezing everything we possibly can out of Jamar. If it comes down to a choice between keeping Jamar, or offloading him to retain Gawn I'd have to say we offload Jamar. Can't have the cake and eat it too- I'd rather keep Gawn as he has many years left up his sleeve and will be a monster. Jamar might have to make way, and we will still be remunerated quite nicely I'd think.
  2. But Bruce didn't really find a 2 year deal did he? He found a 1 + 1 on the proviso particular requirements were met. We can only speculate on whether Green would have got 2 years unconditional or not. And if the writing was on the wall for Bruce, the writing must be all over the house for Green after his season. Either way I'm happy with the outcome and can see Green possibly getting his (what will be deserved and rightly so) extra year.
  3. Lol you're not over exaggerating things again are you RobbieF? No one suggested superstar or better than a Watts or Carey. It was people who could see his potential to become a star vs people who thought he was a waste of a pick and has shown nothing to date without taking into consideration his slight body frame. You fail to see significance in the bigger picture. We've done the Darling vs Cook hypothesis to death. That, I think you'll find, is where the story ends.
  4. did he put the club before himself? Or did he see the writing on the wall that was the Bruce blunder? I don't see it as putting the club before oneself- I see it as approaching the situation with logic. Was he offered 2 years with no strings from other clubs? I don't think so, it would have been one with an option to extend (probably) so Green thought he'd play it safe and stay loyal to us. Do I applaud it? Yes, but I don't see it as a statement on leadership. Next.
  5. Cue simple plan music and razor blades. Isn't that right, demonblog?
  6. It sure does rpfc. Keeping the recruiting officers honest and perhaps a little prophetic.
  7. Lol what did he say? Because of the "sensitive" nature of all of this we thought we'd only deal with who we thought had enough to get the deal over the line? That would have been us. They thought they could keep it in isolation if they only dealt with Bombers? I couldn't see how wanting to come back to Victoria but only on the proviso that it's to your preferred club could do anything but draw attention to it. Probably would be a mistake to make a play for him next year. He's shown where his heart is. He's a bombers supporter obviously and wants to be around his man Hirdy. I would want to get to Melbourne if another team drafted me, so I can see where he's coming from.
  8. and also providing there isn't someone who they think may be available around that pick in the 2013/13 etc draft
  9. Even better!
  10. lol, no I didn't mean you- I was agreeing with the contention of the thread. And by burning stuff I meant random things like barns and childeren's hospitals.
  11. The after first pick selection must be activated or traded next year and no latter. It's value will decrease the higher we finish. End of first round pick can be held on to for 5 years. Bonza!
  12. I agree vehemently whilst burning stuff.
  13. When this thread dies I never have to see this name on Demonland again. I should have started this thread. The only thread I have ever started got like 5 responses and went down quicker than Rosanne on a Hershey bar. Die thread die!!
  14. You had me at "this is personal" and lost me at "I had a cat."
  15. This thread is worse than that cat one over on the main boards. You say by all reports he has been unimpressive, yet we should have traded him. You understand he's only had a year on the list and has the muscle density of my left calf. Actually forget it. Why am I bothering with a response. You can't let yourself get sucked in like this Sloonie. If you need me I'll be doing something more constructive. There's a brick wall with my forehead's name on it..
  16. I would be [censored] if we spent that much money to get someone who is going to play second ruck- a department we have a more than capable Stef Martin occupying currently. He must play FF. End of story. This is the department we have lacked, and the department he will fix. Now I guess we get to keep Martin/Jamar in the forward arc more often whilst the other does all the rucking around ground. Fun times ahead
  17. Best thing to come out of Tigerland? LOL Similar to Chance Bateman that they were great before they lost their hair? LOL Worth a rookie spot? LOL Yes?No? LOL
  18. I suggest all those that have 31 on their back to get Barassi to sign it and then just frame it. The sooner the $ully experience erased from our history the better!
  19. Diablo I find your posts a little disjointed. Why do you start new paragraphs for every line of text, even mid sentence gets a new line. It's constructive criticism, don't take offense. I read what you have to say but can't get any continuity with your posts..
  20. Jamar will be traded before Gawn will be. Jamar is reaching his twilight years- Gawn is still in his infant years. The beautiful thing is that we can get a premium for Jamar, and with Martin and Gawn we won't be losing much- if anything. I'm hoping it will turn out roses for everyone. Jamar can be traded to a club who may be contending, whilst allowing us to retain a capable ruck duo that still have many years together. Gawn and Martin aint going nowhere. FWIW I can see the benefits of Watts on CHB. His pace, football brain and accurate disposal will be a huge asset playing out of this position IMO. Although with Watts at CHB it makes Martin's "resting" position a little more hazy. Glad I'm not a coach, this [censored] is hard!
  21. Where is Davis at right now? I saw his highlight packages when we drafted him and he looked an incredible FB prospect. He could be our next star in the backline! Also does anyone feel Evans can get more of a run this year? Looked good!
  22. His name will always be Sully to me. We did nothing but try our best to accommodate and nurture him, and in the end shown his true colours as a lier and betrayer of trust. He effectively used us for free medical treatment on his ailing knee. Shown signs of apathy and indifference and looked unwilling to try to fit in with the team, Sully is a cold-hearted customer with an eye for cash at the expense of ultimate football glory. His name will always be smirched. I hope he can find comfort in his cash, as we are going places and he traded his ticket for a bag of money. I don't know how he can sleep at night knowing he [censored] all over the club, his team mates and Stynes. Thanks for the compo picks dog. Enjoy the dodgy knee.. I've heard it will either stay dodgy, or get worse. So have fun with that.
  23. Who cares.
  24. How many games did $ully play for us again? His loss can be easily negated. A full season out of Grimes or Gysberts should see to that. And although it's not written in the wind, I can see a lot of improvement in that list- Full pre-seasons can do miraculous things for young players, at this age their scope of improvement is still significant. And any player is capable of stepping up a cog, could be Jones, could be anyone.
  25. Lol her face is the same as Barry Hall's. Take a close look. What a psycho haha
