I think that there is a bit of run left in the Melbourne/GWS gear that has happened in the last couple of years. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they were willing to drip feed us a second/third year player or two for the next couple of years, in return for our top pick. They have a huge bulge of players in that bracket and know some of them will want to go home. They also know that, realistically, Melbourne will have a good pick to play with. I'd bet that something like the Dom Tyson trade will happen again and we could get another gem out of it.

Pedersen absolutely has to go back - it is where his best AFL form is and he killed it last year down back in the VFL. Think we just have to suck up either Fitzpatrick being a very average back up ruck or Gawn being a very average forward. Jamar is gone and not the answer to either.

Seems like the ladder is taking more sensible shape now - with GWS, St Kilda etc not in the 8, Collingwood in and Adelaide moving back up. The only surprises at this stage are Essendon, Sydney and Richmond - hands up who thought all three of those would be out of the 8 five games in?
