  1. If it is just being underdone, as opposed to being in danger of reinjury, I'd stick him back in!
  2. God knows why, but I had a bit of time on my hands and rewatched this game today. We absolutely dominated that first quarter, and apart from injuries obviously, why on earth have the wheels fallen off so much? In my book, they showed the intent and urgency required in that quarter, then it just disappeared for the next three quarters and the following week. If we have McDonald, Dunn, Watts etc taking on the game like they did early in Round 1, we'll be fine... Even Frawley absolutely smashed some guy in a tackle about 20 seconds in. Surely they haven't given up already??
  3. Yep, alright alright. I wasn't making excuses anyway, just observations.
  4. True, but it just seems like we cop this stuff all the time. I mean, Essendon has had the drugs stuff, for example, but its once, for a year. We seem to have major stuff every five minutes.
  5. I think it is actually enormously positive development that Clark and the club are meeting. It is great that Clark is ready to resolve this one way or the other, because we need to get rid of this distraction. It is simply amazing how many major distractions the club has had in recent years - this, the tanking saga, the Scully saga, the Neeld media circus, Presidents dying, ex-coaches dying... We all go on about how the players should just play, but they are human and they simply must lose focus by virtue of all this stuff. Who would have thought that the late Daniher years were actually probably the most stable we'd have in a decade. When will the club be able to focus on playing good, consistent football with good, consistent players? As soon as they find a way to get a run without these types of distractions, things have a chance of getting better.
  6. It is depressing that basically every thread now on Demonland sounds the same.
  7. I think there's not nearly enough criticism of Roos' seeming inability to come up with any viable Plan B, which in reality is what he is here for.
  8. Without wanting to get too enmeshed in a fight between you two, is it fair to say that Moloney was a first time offender? I'm not saying he wasn't, just have heard that it wasn't exactly the first time he'd got himself in situations like that... I could very well be wrong so open to being corrected!
  9. Just want to point out for the record the idiocy of equating basketball with lack of intensity. Come up with a decent analogy if you want to hang it on Watts for jogging around without any direction. Some of you heroes couldn't hold a candle to most of the basketballers I know.
  10. My guess is he doesn't want to commentate anymore...
  11. I don't care how much they needed to change their list, I still can't believe Geelong canned Chapman.
  12. I agree with the no changes, but would be extremely surprised if there isn't at least one late one. Neeld used to make 4 or 5 changes at a time and I always wondered what the point was. The players know where they are at - why not give them a few weeks together with the obvious and public support of the coach, rather than trying three different blokes who will make absolutely no difference to the result?
  13. Gee, with those ins, if any one of Fitzpatrick, Watts or McDonald doesn't get up, we are absolutely, completely rooted.
  14. He was behaving like a complete turd - that's different. Nobody's against free speech, but this isn't an argument about the Constitution. It's an argument about the code of conduct for this website, which we've all signed up to.
  15. I think we should amp up the homeground advantage and refuse to play their song, either when they run out or when they complete their utter spanking of us.
  16. All I'm saying is that, imagine we'd identified that years ago and stuck him in there. I always knew Neeld (bless him) was onto something at least trying to turn him into the Hodge/Gibbs type general off half back. He has always been our best user of the footy by streets, imagine we'd given him those developmental years in his best position.
  17. Seriously? They had Riewoldt, Dempster and, well, now I'm struggling. They had a rookie upgrade tear us a new one. That's like us bringing Jetta and him having 20 touches. We should have given them a bath and the fact that we were so close when we were so absolutely rooted cattle wise, and still should have won, is enough for us all to drop the excuses. Flat out, we should have won.
  18. I don't understand why so many people are too stupid to understand this very fundamental issue.
  19. I've agreed with the sound and fury from you on this thread, but this is a touch off the mark. I'm spewing about the loss, but I think in time this particular aspect of past failures will be rectified.
  20. The other fact is we lost an eminently winnable game against a garbage opposition. Talk to me when we win our first game. Given we have a run of about ten through the middle of the season where we will be lucky to win one, I'd be surprised if we were better than about 2-15...
