Let's all chill out a bit - long way to go yet.

Watts wants to stay but will explore free agency.

The club has stuck by him? Wow. As opposed to what - delisting one of their best 10-15 players? You're kidding. -
Tell me you aren't serious.
-
Maybe. Or maybe the TV executives who have the AFL's fixturing people in their pocket know better than you what makes them the most money.
-
Sure, and these teams usually pull big ratings. The reason we don't play is that nobody watches us.
-
If we lose to Essendon I will....

You aren't seriously taking your footy jumper overseas are you? -
To be fair, they are the teams which constantly pull 60-70k
-
They do have Dusty, I guess.
-
This is dreadful. Hate to say it, but Curry is right. Given our back end of the season, we really need to make the most of playing teams like this when they are absolutely rubbish
-
Jeez some supporters are party poopers of the highest order.
-
Poor old Stuie would just about explode if that happened.

MATCH PREVIEW & TEAM SELECTION - ROUND 2, 2016

He's one of the logical ones to go, though. Not a surprise, sadly, but about time too I guess. Just one of those things. -

Hogan might kick 20. -
Yes, but it doesn't have to. There's no other player in the league contracted until the end of next year whose contract status anybody is even remotely discussing. I know he is important etc etc, but it's just a waste of energy! Anyway, rant over!
-
Yes please. It's so boring trawling through this thread to look for something that is actually relevant.

This is the fundamental problem with your argument in my book. Nasher has already pointed out why, but your definition of 'gifted' is off. You're not being gifted games if you're best 22 every week. -

I've been saying this for a couple of weeks now. It's infuriating how many people are stick kicking him while covering their post with 'oh, but I'm really enjoying watching him this year'. Then following it up with another whack. -
Are we really going to go round and round and round this for two whole years? Just enjoy watching him play footy for a while!

MATCH PREVIEW & TEAM SELECTION - ROUND 2, 2016

We will smash these pretenders off the park. -
At risk of being shouted down, the whole thing is bread and circuses. It is the absolute pits and nothing can save it. Having said that, it will completely change the character of the show. People who like watching pigs be pigs will turn it off if that's not what it is, and people who don't will be watching the multitude of more watchable football shows on the air. Just my two cents.

This administration knows exactly what it is doing and has let the players go that it wants to, whilst making an enormous fuss in the media and ensuring maximum compensation. They were not reluctant to let any of Sylvia, Frawley, Howe or Clark go, despite what might have been said in the media. I have to say, though, that most of the players you mention were pushed in the Neeld era. You really have to narrow the field down to guys like Blease, McKenzie, Jamar etc that were moved on in the last couple of years in particular. Cross is the only one I've disagreed with, but in a head v heart battle think they were probably right in hindsight.

I was there, and Frost didn't look part of the package to me. If all we are using him for is speed, I'd rather have Stretch who can play elsewhere. I think the forward line worked well but only once it was opened up, and Frost had nothing to do with much of it either before or after, and certainly wasn't much involved in our scoring.

We'd be mental not too, along with every other club.

It helps when your new recruit gets 44 touches.
