Impossible to predict this one 2 sides not yet hitting their straps both started against the Cats getting the ball in quick and high to expose the Cats defense. Hawks delivery was much better than ours. If we get on top in the middle and get the ball in quick but either to space or a positive 1 on 1 we can lock it in and capitalise on forward pressure. If our delivery inside 50m or on the quick break is poor they will win with their ball use and quicks catching us out on the rebound. Clarko will look to isolate Roughie on Oscar. I dont expect all of Stratton Frawley Sicily and O'Brien down back. O'Brien may play forward to prevent Lever zoning off on Gunstan and Roughie. If they drop one of the tall defenders Mcevoy will try and drift forward to prevent Max doingthe same

ANZAC Eve and QB are massive for us for sponsorship and as a destination club moving forward. Any player considering returning to Victoria or moving clubs would seriously give consideration to the opportunity to play regularly at the G and in 2 blockbusters a season playing in front of 85-90+k on ANZAC Eve and 65-75k on QB. Make finals and put together a couple of good finals campaigns and we set ourselves right up

Coburg Lions v Casey Scorpions - VFL Round 1
Pennant St Dee replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Maybe Cotchin. I think Shiels goes to Clarrie this week and Gus may come in for the run with role -
IMO has been steady since half time against the Cats. Has done very little wrong in the last 10 quarters of footy and should hold his position.

Sorry LH Worsfold is a lead by example type and great motivator but certainly is tactically inept. Meth Coast team of the early noughties had no plan B and survived on their supreme midfield talent. The brains behind their resurgence in 2011-12 was Phil Walsh. The message from coaches like Worsfold gets very stale after a while

Subiaco are no ordinary WAFL side they are the best club in the comp and have been for the last 30 years. Jarred Schofield is a gun coach and has them well drilled
-
Not bad but our defensive unit is also exposing the deficiencies in Levers game which I have no doubt he is good enough to fix. Oscar has far more ability to play one on one than Lever so it's not a case of one being more suited to the zone. They can both compliment each other. Frost has been the biggest offender in going 3rd man up when he shouldn't for the last 2 seasons

and Lever's game. Can you provide a critique on that

2018 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Pennant St Dee replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Tom Medhat from West Perth is one who's going to move up the draft boards. Played most of his juniors as key position with stints on the ball. Now in his draft year being used on the ball really good kid who at 191cm showing endurance and ability to find and use the ball well is going to start attracting attention. Adrian Hickmotts boys (Liam & Will) and Michael Priors boy (Jaxon) also showing plenty from Perths northern suburbs. -
Most ridiculous thing I heard yesterday. 3 adults discussing it and the issue being you have to have at least one game at the MCG. Sheehan comes up with game 3 will always be at the G after the 2 teams play home and away. The 3 discuss that being a compromise that would appease the fans. FFS I presume they have all been educated but between the 3 of them nobody thought about a team winning the first 2 games
-
Sums up my thoughts and clearly why they have been working on Weids ruck work with a view to him playing the role Pedo has
-
Ben Brown wasn't the problem last year at the G it was Cunnington and Higgins who won that game. We need to win the midfield battle
-
If North go with same line up I'm not sure Frost can come in to free Lever up. North played a mobile forward ine with 2 talls in Waite and Brown. Hunt needs a rest his decision making is woeful and he's not breaking the lines so IMO is bringing nothing. Buggs disposal is really bad and whilst his pressure acts are great I think Harmes ANB and Melksham can rotate through the forward line and midfield. North love contested footy so we need plenty to rotate through the middle and stoppages. Stretch comes into consideration if Hunt goes out for his run. 2 bad quarters out of 8 and whilst concerning like the Tigers last season at this stage I'm more concerned with winning and getting points on the board and having our structures in place in the second half of the season. Jetta Omac Hibberd Lewis Lever Salem Vince Jones Stretch Trac Pedo Melksham Garlett Hogan Fritsch Gawn, Oliver, Tyson ANB, Brayshaw, Harmes, Wagner In: Brayshaw & Stretch Out: Bugg & Hunt

Demonland Player of the Year - Round 2

We made adjustments at half time with our defensive structure which didn't include Frost. The reshuffle worked so I would think with Cameron, Christensen, Taylor, Zorko all rotating through the forward line we're best not to go in top heavy
-
Outside of the obvious in Oli, Trac and Gawny 1. Omac doing what no Dees defender has been able to do to Hawkins 2. The second half turnaround of the team but specifically Wagner who had an impact in the third and Maynard in game number 2 or 3 playing a tagging role on Ablett, which was a big factor in him having less influence on the game. He still got plenty of footy but his impact was reduced 3. We have an opportunity to redeem ourselves on Saturday
-
Sorry but Omac was not terrible got outmuscled by Hawkins once but he's not Robinson Crusoe there. Wagner was good in the second half. Jetta who I love was by far our worst defender today and Hunt was poor
-
Tyson or Brayshaw in for Maynard. Wagner was good in the second half. Garletts workrate was poor and playing Melksham permanently forward for 4qrts may be a better option, if they wish to pull trigger then Brayshaw comes in to play off HB and rotate through the middle. Hunts decision making is woeful as is his disposal by hand and by foot. Menzals sitter he missed came from a lazy handball from Hunt to Maynard when we had free men down the line and streaming forward. Maynard was forced to track back and this allowed Geelong to get to the contest and eventually turn it over. When Hunt picked up the ball Clarrie was beside him and at the time I thought let the better user take the ball but he didn't
