  1. I think Jay Clark wrote an article on it last night but it was due to Watts not completing training and wearing a compression sock or something similar. My guess would be precaution as he apparently moved okay
  2. don't Sydney wear that
  3. I would say like half of demonland they are afraid of the AFL a) They will take Queens Birthday off us b) They wont give us good timeslots c) They will not gives us handouts d) They will give us an unfavourable draw I say fook em they need 18 teams and now is the time to stand up to them, all of the above they give us nothing except Queens birthday, they have to give us handouts for their benefit not ours, it is there you go the bigger clubs get the blockbusters and better tv timeslots and this is your money from the tv rights we get for having 18 teams. If it's good enough for Collingwood it's good enough for us and I don't care about them being a cash cow call the AFL'S bluff and make them come out and say that publicly which they will never do
  4. That argument gets blown straight out of the water with Collingwood vs North Melbourne both verticle stripes black & white/white & black or blue & white/white & blue Essendon vs Richmond when Essendon are the home side they both wear predominantly black but Richmond have a thicker yellow sash and some yellow down the side It's a farce
  5. Sorry old that is carp, we don't have to wear white jumpers because they provide us money from equalisation. It's not that difficualt to walk in to the AFL with two jumpers 1) Our traditional jumper 2) A reversal of our jumper or an all red jumper with the MFC logo on it Bring in the other 17 AFL club jumpers and tell me where is the clash, the only possibility is Fremantle and even then if we are wearing our traditional jumper with white shorts against their all purple I don't see a clash. The red jumper will cause a lot less clashes with the other jumpers It is not hard once you present a valid argument
  6. Yes because they bent over backwards to recruit him in 2012 and offer rookie listed positions and both again overlooked him last year. They would be well aware of his issues and history, neither of them will pick him up and I doubt whether Garlett will even play WAFL
  7. Yep East Freo's Country Zone is Geraldton, Northampton, Mullewa and around there which is very strong footy country, they used to have Esperance but that has now gone to Subaico. This is a break up of the country zones www.wafooty.com.au/.../h8zDz2tEdToF4gn1fP1R4LGJams-FtENKy1- RnmVN9c
  8. They don't seem to want it from Messendon or Richmond
  9. Claremont will drop down but Subi are on the rise, they have recruited some good older players and they have an up and coming bunch of players from their zone who are not going to be AFL standard but will be good solid WAFL players and provide a good nucleaus East Freo have the best zone Metro and Country, but Subi have a good zone in the metro area which I think is getting better than East Freo's. Claremont do well out of the PSA comp and Albany always provides some really good kids for their country zone
  10. Downhill skier who will be okay on the wide spaces of Subiaco when Meth Coast are flat track bullying average to mediocre sides. Showed little in WAFL last year for Swans although he was coming back from knee reconstruction. I believe he will be found wanting by good sides and should he be fortunate enough to play in a final, will be caught like a rabbit in the headlights
  11. WAFL Round 1 commenced last week and I headed to Lathlain Park to see Perth vs Claremont, with the Demons being in control all day and running out big winners. I was keen to have a look at former GWS U/17 recruit Gerard Ugle and potential first round pick Clem Smith. Ugle- this kid looked very good and I can see why GWS took a punt on him when he was so young.. Showed good cruising speed and acceleration across the ground and hits the loose ball at pace so is very hard to stop when reading the play. Ball use by hand and foot was good and seemed to have a lot of awareness in traffic, but I would like another look at him to see what he is like in a game with greater intensity and physicality as Claremont were never in this and showed little. Not afraid to tackle and catches opponents out with his closing speed Smith - on this show will slip down the pecking order, he will do well at underage level because when he has the ball he does well and if it is within his vicinity will hit the contest hard. However he does not work overly hard to get to contests and I noticed on a few occasions the shaking of the head when being spoken to by runners and during breaks between quarters. I see a lot of Dayle Garlett circa 2012 in this kid plenty of talent but poor attitude, whilst Smith is harder at a contest and a much better tackler than Garlett his foot skills are not as good and his hands are not as strong, nor does he possess good size. At this size he needs a higher workrate and to provide greater x-factor, which I don't see at the next level Darcy Cameron who missed out in 2013 played as back up ruck to Mark Seaby for Claremont and performed well against the older Leyendeckers but was given limited opportunity but he did not disgrace himself and was worth another look. Needs to work on aerobic capacity and second efforts One kid who caught my eye was a young indigenous small forward for Perth Callum Collard who was picked up from Amatuer club Kelmscott and showed some great zip around goal with a real willingness to tackle and harass defenders while always wishing to provide second efforts at the fall of the ball and his efforts saw plenty of turnovers or left defenders hesitating allowing team mates to capitalise on errors. Not many other kids on offer today but a friend who attended the Subiaco vs South Fremantle colts game said South looked very very good. They have a number of boys expected to go this year and he said the standout was CHF Matthew AH SIU(think that spelling is right), good size and very mobile and will lead and run hard to provide options, Jarrod Pickett and Jacob Dragovich were dominant in the middle along with a Callum AH Che whose brother Brandon is already on the Port Adelaide list, I will do my best to get a look at this side for myself because by all accounts they are stacked with a lot of very good up and comers
  12. He put a lot of effort in last year and dedicated himself to being as fit and as ready as he could. But AFL is another step up and the demands will not allow for to many distractions, talent and a good fitness base will get you by in WAFL but if the attitude is not right to give 100% commitment at the next level this is what happens. There were a lot screaming for us to take him in 2012 & again last year. I watched him very closely last year and while there was massive improvement over 6 months I had no doubt he was not worth us taking him in the first 2 rounds
  13. It's not just us Carrazzo Ben Reid If you don't treat the calf correctly and come back early add more time on top,
  14. Are you that clown Chris from Camberwell who rings up SEN with outlandish claims of doom??? If your not find him and sit together at the footy you will be perfect company for each other
  15. 6.Watts 5.N Jones 4.Dunn 3.Vince 2. Tyson 1. Toumpas Trenners & Matt Jones unlucky
  16. Agree with some of what you say LH but even early last season you have to admire their ability to perform when the public spotlight is turned right up against them. I would have excepted us being thugs in 2000 if we lifted the Premiership Cup. We have failed at every available option in the last 10 years to do so 04/05/06 we never learned about being July Premiers and fell over in all of those years, we never stood up in the game after Jimmy's death and we made excuses that our players were probably mentally exhausted. Times when we were bad we would win 2 games in a row and public pressure lifted slightly saying can they make it 3 and get on a roll, but we faltered on numerous occasions because we lacked a ruthless edge, a leader to stand up like a Watson or Selwood and make a statement. Say whatever you like about Essendon but now that Roos is on board I crave the day when we stand up regularly and are hated not pitied by opposition fans All I'm trying to say in a nutshell is I hate them but I can also respect their players ability to be ruthless and perform
  17. I was in me fathers testicles (he was 13 going on 14) where I stayed until the Kilkenny Beer Festival of 1971 when I moved address for 9 months to my mother
  18. I was also thinking if the Asada findings may hold a key to the Bombers avoiding a payout and providing Essendon with a way of voiding Hirds contract
  19. Same hair style & colour Same name In the words of Chopper "Tanya look what you've done" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lts518-WsPM
  20. Not surprised and wouldn't say they squibbed it start of the season, Fletcher breaks club games record That should be the focus, Hird has shown how selfish he is I think the Bombers have just deferred things for a while, this matter will be dealt with in time
  21. Expecting better because of Roos influence and hardened mids, but as with most of you have been burnt to many times. Really nervous and just hope I am not watching this game thinking "Here we go again"
  22. He wont want one it doesn't have a Demon on it
  23. What did you expect Nasher D'landers to recognise 100% effort team ethos and single minded approach to do your job no matter how minor it seems for the team to the best of your ability as a pre-requisite for selection. Shame on you
  24. We all know for a fact they are thinking about image, PJ has said it numerous times The survey we received says it Thank you Captain obvious
  25. You are kidding yourself if you think that is why kids follow those clubs. Kids chop and change teams all the time as they grow up and we all know why they chose the sides they do
