Not this week needs to stay tight on Ballantyne

Dockers players get instructed by Dockers coaches then back to the main huddle. Massive divide between Peel & Freo. Eventually they will become a stand alone Dockers side

I think he'll be dropped for Morabito on yesterdays showing. Lyon was ropeable at the end of the game despite taking the four points. He let them have it and they were poor for all but a quarter and 10 minutes. They wont start asleep 2 weeks in a row If Roos thinks Blease has learnt to work both ways he comes in for some line breaking run, if he has learnt you don't want him coming in against Freo. Freo's big mids of Barlow, Fyfe & Mundy are a hard ask so think Michie may come in. Salem to me looks tired so JKH back in. Mckenzie for me better tagger than Nicho. The Dockers are light on for KPD'S and Kepler Bradley played at Full Back and CHB for Peel in the WAFL yesterday so think he may come in to support Dawson. As for match ups next week who gets the job on Hill he was sublime yesterday. Ins Michie, Mckenzie & JKH Outs Nicho, Terlich & Salem Tappy and Blease come into consideration if Roos wants to go smaller and leave Gawn out

Yes they are but they are not willing to pay the world for him, which they have made clear -

He has knocked back a contract extension for 1 year, he is doing very well at WAFL level and wants to play regular footy at AFL level. If he doesn't get a game by seasons end he may well opt out -

He wont comment because he has NFI, it's a lazy easy option to use Toumpas as a reason why we lost

To much risk for mine with a pick above the 3rd round. Out of contract lessens his value IMO -
Sounds very much like the Dockers players with Peel Thunder

Yep if we got him for that. He is out of contract and hasn't played AFL for 3 years, 4 recons not a lot of bargaining Freo can do -

Was very impressive today, works really hard and has put on a lot of size, worth a punt but the risk is great with his knee history so you wouldn't want to give up much to get him -

Bail will get that job IMO -
Agree somewhat, think we got Salem right, some were calling for Lennon and Freeman. I think the new recruiting department may be better than the last so I'll trust them. I love Wines as a player but think Macrae is the one I would take in hindsight. Whitfield for me the clear Number 1

Freo Dockers are not doing to bad, Peel are a basket case in the WAFL and the alignment doesn't seem to be affecting them. I saw Peel today and their skills were atrocious, the Dockers players worked hard but had no cattle with them and they fell short again. Morabito starred again along with Jono Griffin, Kepler Bradley & Tom Sheridan, but the lack of good quality players to support them was obvious. The Casey scenario could be the same, it is good to see AFL players putting solid efforts in when the tide is heavily against them. I know several AFL scouts who look hard and take a lot of note on the standouts in the weaker colts sides, it says a lot about a player. Casey making finals regularly didn't seem to transpire at AFL level, so I wouldn't throw the baby out with the bath water just yet. How Casey perform is irrelevant once the players come in at AFL level and know the structure and perform at that level.

Don't agree with trading the picks, if we manage to get compensation pick for Frawley keep 1 & trade 1. I like the look of Petracca when I saw him, nice big bodied mid with what I saw an appetite for hard work. Obviously if another Salem/Tyson deal pops up again then it's a no brainer

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 15

Nicho does what is asked Blease does he work both ways and his direct opponent at AFL level will be a lot more damaging than at VFL Georgiou has performed well at AFL level and the boys looked tired last week How long or should I say many games in succession has Michie played after coming back from injury would need to have the absolute km's in the legs to play Cross's role Big Gawny was okay but dropped for match ups Dom Barry all I know is he performed a negating job as was asked of him I will trust Roos knows what he wants and what the player needs to do to fit in with his plans -
Redleg if you can get that deal done where we end up with Zac Jones, Tom Mitchell and Petracca or Brayshaw, I'll be forever indebted to you and would absolutley jump at that deal

GOODBYE MR. CHIP FRAWLEY
Pennant St Dee replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
IMO The 5 most important players to our club are Nate Jones - he is the heart of our team, bleeds red & blue, loves the club and sets the standard for others to follow, what he has done in regard to his committment is similar to what Boak did at Port. It was a statement where he said no point whinging about the clubs predicament and using it as a reason to leave, I am going to lead the charge for this club to move up. Other younger players followed their captain and committed to Port rather than return to their home states Lynden Dunn - can play tall or small, is currently the defensive general and IMO is in All Australian form, Dunn is currently in the 3-4 year period of his best footy years Mark Jamar - we are light on for quality rucks and his return to form has been no coincidence saw us starting to win clearances and playing our best footy for the year Chris Dawes - another fantastic leader for the club, holds together our forward structure and leads by example Daniel Cross - he is the benchmark of profesisonalism and sets the standards in training and game preparation. The Sylvia's & Maloneys are gone, Tyson, Viney, Kent, Toumpas, Watts and others need to learn from him and Vince They are my Top 5 and IMO they are all committed to the club, which puts them above Frawley on my observations, Currently I see Frawley as gone so after these top 5 I would have Dom Tyson - on current observations he is the one with a nice bit of poise and class in the midfield and I see him as the midfield general in the next year or two Bernie Vince - another top quality midfield for the next 3 years whilst the transition continues before Viney, Kent, Toumpas, Trengove and the new brigade take over. 2012-13 showed us what a severly weakened Midfield can do Tom Mcdonald - Very promising key defender who IMO will only get better when he learns how to utilise his strengths and minimise his deficincies Jesse Hogan - we simply need a key forward to stand up Dawes holds the forward structure together but if you are the one leading high half forward and marking we need another quality forward to remain inside 50 and lead hard or create the contest for the crumbing forwards Jack Watts - Wattsy has improved so much this year and is getting to where he should be if he can continue his improvement he has a lot of X fatcor On top of those Viney, JKH, Salem, Kent, Toumpas all developing under natural progression and learning from the leaders we have along with Trengove getting his body right and back to his best sees us as a much better club than the one we were 12-18 months ago. Howe seems to be developing nicely into a quality defender and others are improving, but we must not rest on our laurels and continue to improve and turn the list over every year so we never stagnate and decline like we did in the mid 2000's to now. -

Great post KC, whats your thoughts on the Demons giving everything to the venture as you say with a wholehearted effort and becoming the Casey Demons. IYO would an investment by MFC into the club see us developing a stronghold in the area and the flow on effect of solid long term supporter base, whilst also providing the community with a local side to watch. Even a team dominated by the Demons would be better than no VFL team at all in the area

I couldn't care less about pulling crowds, although I would say Jeremy Howe for his marking ability is a crowd puller. We played exciting footy between 2000-06 but never seriously were contenders when the serious hard footy was required. Richmond and Meth Coast have some great front running players who are great to watch when everything is going there way. But unless they sort themselves out the best they can hope for at the top of their games is a spot in the lower half of the 8 at best Give me a team of workers all doing their job any day of the week -
