  1. Just saw the add will watch, I saw the Rev about 18 months ago in Leederville and said a quick hello and thanks for the memories of your era. Whilst I knew he was struggling health, very hard to imagine the man I saw on the add was the same man I spoke with 18 months ago. Best wishes to Neale and the Danniher family
  2. Thanks Saty and something I never knew that Chip followed the Yids
  3. Late Pick or Rookie I nominated as worth a look in last years draft was Tom Shanahan from East Perth's Colts side. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-10-20/thomas-shanahan He did very well in the WA Combine but was overlooked. One of the few East Perth kids kept on with the spots being limited due to the alignment with Meth Coast. I've again seen a bit of him this year and he has been banging down the door with plenty of BOG performances in the two's. He has been named in the emergencies a few times this season but not cracked a senior game yet. Finally I believe this week he will make his senior debut tomorrow. I don't think I'll be able to get to the game but will see if I can find out how he goes. Still rate him and think in any other WAFL side he would have been given a debut a lot earlier in the year. Not sure how it works with the SA alignments but over here some on the Meth Coast list are not performing well in 1's or 2's but due to being on their list they have been getting games ahead of some of the more talented younger players who didn't manage to get drafted for various reasons. On what I saw last year and this year still IMO worth a good look at, I mentioned last year I thought he had a very good inside game but he was played more as an outside mid. This season he has shown his qualities at winning his own ball on the inside and his tackling/pressure acts improved a lot.
  4. Mitch Jensen of Footscray who has played some VFL this year is the brother of former Bomber Andrew Welsh
  5. I'm originally from Ireland, but also a lifelong Toffees fan so I assume we will be supporting different sides in the Premier League this week. Gary Lineker is still the best thing to come out of Leicester
  6. and where do you originally come from 3183 Dee?
  7. So Bail out for Salem basically Just consider Bail is the likely option to get the defensive forward gig on Heath Shaw, because Salem certainly doesn't have the tank yet to play that role Cross, Vince and Viney will get any midfield run with roles
  8. Yes fookin hilarious! 2 more talented kids running around in the NEAFL for 2 years until they or Shiel, Treloar, Coniglio, Whitfield or whover else they pick up are traded off in a couple of years for more Top end picks God I hate that club and the AFL for the way they set this up
  9. Chaser what's your thoughts on Reece Mckenzie, seems to be getting some publicity lately and may be the late bolter in the style of Hill, Watts, Martin, Bontempelli
  10. Rare commodity and one of Sammy Mitchell's great talents
  11. Wasn't Robbo served a Subpoena for the Dean Robinson matter Possibly unable to give evidence as he is on sick leave with a certificate?
  12. Coxy's Subi Farewell Bobby
  13. Agree with you somewhat Dazzle because I have no doubt Roos and the FD are looking to the future, but the if I have is should Hogan be fit and ready to go and add something to our forward structure they may well play him.
  14. If reports on younger players under F/S are true I am going to have a nana nap in season 2016 wake up and think I am still asleep dreaming of the late 80's Viney, Stretch and Lovett.
  15. HFF for WATTS will work well, when the the two/three best opposition defenders are busy dealing with Dawes, Hogan and on some occassions Gawn will work well once we have some speed and toughness at ground level with rotations from the middle
  16. Fook em rather beat them at full strength, I live and work around those Meth Coast front running supporters and my hatred for them has no end. Take it up to them and make them accountable and they are not that good, their forward line is a nightmare to match up on if you allow them clean use of the ball from midfield but win the midfield battle and clamp down on them, Priddis is going to get his hands on the ball you can't prevent that but he is not their main weapon through the middle. We must prevent Gaff, Shuey and Hurn having time and space, while Jamar and Gawn/Pedersen need to just break even at centre bounces. Do those things and we are halfway there. Easier said than done but it is no secret in how to beat them, they love getting involved in shoot outs but sides who take it up to them with uncompromised footy is not their forte. The game has been sold out for weeks and even if the Bombers beat them this week they will be up for next week treating it like a farewell party for Cox, but there were similar factors facing us with the Hafey and Cassisi games earlier in the season.
  17. Kirk started out as a negating player with on face value not a lot of tools at his disposal, nobody knew away from the inner sanctum of Sydney the leadership qualities he had, Bolton was always a hard at it fanatical ball winner but hardly an out an out Superstar. And Ryan O'Keefe what was he 25/26 before he started to show a lot more than potential with an appetite for hard work. Role players Kirk, Bolton & O'Keefe they all were playing second fiddle to the likes of Schwass, Kelly, Williams,Maxfield & Hall. As they moved on the others progressed from role players to key players and Richards, Malceski, Mcveigh, Jack, Mcglynn, Hanneberry were new role players who have no progressed to Key players with Rampe, Smith, Cunningham etc now role players who will more than likely continue to evolve . It's this continued cycle of continuation and passing on the culture that is the greatest legacy Roos left at Sydney. I agree we need to snag a potential superstar from somewhere (we had Clark but we all know what happened) but for me if Roos can leave us with a legacy of culture like he left at Sydney we will be well on our way to a sustained period of finals contention and possibly more
  18. Well Done Nev always had faith in you and thought you were somewhat unlucky to be delisted last season Good news story for the club and the AFL and a lesson to all about determination, never giving up and the rewards that come when you apply yourself and put the effort in you have
  19. Just found this article in the Irish Independant, apart from referring to us as the Red & Black not a bad piece, where Sam opens up about the last few days of Jim's life and also glad to hear how life is moving on for her http://www.independent.ie/irish-news/sam-stynes-on-death-grief-and-her-new-relationship-30495830.html

  20. Because as I stated you don't need to use that pick to get Malceski, he is a free agent and there are other options available
  21. Wouldn't give up that pick to get Reid & Malceski, Reid & Mitchell yes but not for someone who is getting on and can also be attained via delisted free agent or through PSD with a front end loaded contract given our cap room
  22. Best place to go for a beer is the Subiaco Football Club Social Club which is on the North Western side of the stadium facing St John of Gods Hospital. Not usually packed out and prices aren't to bad.
  23. Didn't end as you would have liked at the Dees, Beamer but when your entire career as a Demon is weighed up overall you gave plenty of service and I heard your interview on SEN tonight and I thought you showed a lot of class. Enjoy Retirement
  24. Beat me to it my thoughts exactly, not sure what radio show it was yesterday but a mention was made of Sam Reid slowly being moved out of the Sydney side position wise and takers could be moving behind the scenes. I thought to myself he'd be worth looking at.
  25. Maybe don't use that word when describing all the indigenous people of this country
