  1. Agree totally quick ball use also eliminates Mcgovern peeling off and going up 3rd man
  2. There is no sporting club or organisation in the world I hate more than Meth Coast, cmon boys make my week/year and bring the same which you brought to Kardinia Park
  3. Only issue is that Mcgovern, Schofield and Darling have had a week off to freshen up and it would have been nice to get them after the Tigers game so they will have had 15 days off by the time Saturday nights game comes around. Darling has only come back in and was slightly underdone so would have been nice to get him on a minimum turnaround. They have some awesome running power across the ground and are still very much a confidence side and we can't afford to start rusty against them and allow them to get their tails up, we need to come out of the blocks and set the tone very early for a physical contest. Has anybody got any info on the ground in Darwin a nice big ground more in terms of width will help us expose their defence and isolate some one on ones inside our forward 50
  4. In the right programme and the right culture this can be sorted out and we need look no further than Jack Darling
  5. What did you make of Sam Powell-Pepper Chaser, been watching him since he was in U11 at Mt Hawthorn really like this kid a lot going to go very high next year in the draft
  6. They played in NT a couple of time in NAB cup over the last few years but not sure this current side would have played much up there
  7. Lets just win 2 in a row to start with that would be nice It's an old cliche but this team with it's current stage in rebuilding is very much a one week at a time side
  8. I think we need to match their midfield run, their back 6 will stay at home and will not chase players up the ground and without looking at the stats my view on them is they are not as reliant on Will Schofield and Hurn for setting up their attacks from HB like last season. With Mckenzie and Brown going down their two KPD'S are now Mcgovern and Schofield. They have players like Wellingham, Duggan and Sheppherd now setting up from HB and finding a lot of the footy and their midfield runs very deep rotating with Sheed, Yeo, Gaff, Rosa, Selwood, Ellis, Priddis, Masten & Shuey all getting a run through there and HFF. For this reason we are going to need Bail and Matty Jones to stay in and Tyson, Vince, Viney, Toumpas, Watts, Nate Jones, and Brayshaw to all play. They put numbers behind the ball and they will do this against us so IMO Dawes stays as he is important to bring the ball to ground along with Hogan and the resting ruckman, ANB, Bail, Watts, Vince, Brayshaw all to have stints in the forward line and assisting with rotations when need be. Garlett to remain forward for the game. Dunn to Darling and Mcdonald to Kennedy, Jetta to Cripps and Garland to run with Lecras. This game will be won in the midfield and we really need to break even in this contest. I think Spencer has to stay in to give Gawny a chop out, Fitxzy is a possibility with Sinclair often moving forward but I think we can stratch their defence once we keep a few of our rotating mids in there to prevent the rebound, so i am giving Spencer the nod. Howey was good bringing the ball to ground but with Hogan coming back in and Dawes being needed the FD have to decide between Howe and Stretch for me on match ups against the opposition about who joins Riley as an out. Meth Coast defenders will back themselves and peel off their direct opponent to go third man up to the contest so being predictable is something we can't afford to do, Dawes and Hogan to keep Mcgovern and Schofield busy. Priddis is going to pick up possessions he just does every week and he is in red hot form, Gaff is going to have to be shut down as he has been damaging in the last month, Masten wont hurt you but like Selwood can be vital in the chain moving the ball from the clearances inside 50. Their structures are working really well and this is a very difficult assignment, if we dont bring the same attitude as last week it will be a 6-8 goal defeat but we can back up from last week and make a real game of this, not sure on the dimensions of TIO in Darwin but I am hoping it is a good bit wider than Subaico which is a long but narrow ground. A nice bit of width could allow us to isolate Mcgovern and preventing him floating across packs similar to what Oxley did on QB Cmon Dees back up from last week and don't rest on our laurels MFC vs Meth Coast B: Garland,McDonald, Jetta HB: Cross, Dunn, Lumumba C: Toumpas,Tyson, Viney HF: Watts,Dawes Brayshaw F: Garlett, Hogan, Spencer FOLL: Gawn, N Jones, Vince I/C: Stretch/Howe, M Jones, Bail, Neal-Bullen Out: Riley and either Stretch or Howe
  9. Agreed he was desperate and his chase was just many of the 1%ers which can make a difference, Means a hell of a lot more than flashing in and out of the game. Really happy with WATTS last 3 weeks just keep it coming
  10. Been waiting for this ever since 2009 or 10 when they beat us down there and after the game the Cats were singing the song and James Kelly was yawning and pretending to be asleep never have I forgotten the contempt and disrespect he showed us that day. Pit the fooker wasn't playing today
  11. Great Team effort 22 contributors 6.Vince 5.Gawn 4.Dunn 3.Garlett 2.Jones N 1.Viney Unlucky to Brayshaw & Tyson
  12. Doesn't make sense we have 13 days break between games after we play Geelong, if he plays he takes their best defender, so if he misses this week the general soreness line is BS
  13. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This is one of the most important points most Demonlanders wallowing in pity and "the why always us " culture fail to understand. Our drafts in the early to mid 2000's along with the early moving on of leaders left us a massive void which we are struggling to fill. The future leaders now appear to be there in Viney and Brayshaw but they are AFL babies and a long way off taking this mantle. Get your house in order as Cats, Swans and Pies do and the end result is the transition from leadership group and young players not being constantly expected to carry the weight of expectation and the hardest tag. You may drop down for a rebuild but it will only be for 3 possibly 4 years not like the 9 pushing 10 we have had.
  14. 6.Vince 5.Toumpas 4.Hogan 3.Watts 2.Viney 1.Jones N
  15. The AFL gives out PP'S in case you missed that bit
  16. I know it is difficult to get it through your head and it has been for the last 3 seasons but we will not be getting a PP FCS what is so difficult about this for you to register
  17. Frawley FA Compensation enabled us to not have to choose between Petracca & Brayshaw
  18. Could be but Garlett's attitude doesn't affect his training and getting his body prepared
  19. All the best ANB, 1st of many kid do yourself, your family and the Demon faithful proud
  20. Agree with others as I would have Whitfield over Kelly but wouldn't say no to either at the right price. Also would be keen on Carlisle if the asking price wasn't to great but it will be due to the fact KPT'S are a rare commodity and Bombers aren't the easiest to deal with. I would be looking at Carlisle as a defender as opposed to forward, think with he at CHB and TMac at FB we would have a nice backline in the years ahead
  21. I have seen a bit of the Sold Outs at East Perth this season and have to say I have been shocked at the decline in Scott Lycett since last season. HE is always written up as doing well in the WAFL but these articles are written by lazy journalists (which Perth has an abuncdance of) who don't attend games and just review stats at games end or they aren't paying attention. In the games when Lycett has played well he has played as a big power forward which he can get away with at WAFL level. The last game I went to against West Perth, Paul Johnson played leading ruck and it was Jarrod Oakley-Nicholls who played the pinchiting role, whilst Lycett remained forward, he looks to have bulked up a fair amount and it seems to have really hampered his mobility, his turning circle is massive and would see him as a liability at AFL level. Sinclair at Meth Coast is not bad and I see a fair amont of improvement in him
  22. Cross was our loose man in defence
  23. He was played on Sidebottom who had no influence and along with Vince's job on Pendlebury was one of the main reasons we got the upper hand in the midfield
  24. 6. Vince - was superb negating Pendles and going the other way 5. Jones - along with Vince one of the main reasons we won the midfield contest 4. Brayshaw - as above so important love the kid is just a footballer and something we should have been drafting year in year out 3. Cross - Played the lose role so well and cut off many Pie attacks and provided outlets 2. Viney - loved his tenacity and run, so important along with Vince, Jones, Brayshaw and Vanders (First half) in us getting on top through the middle 1. Toumpas - shut out Sidebottom and barring a few skill errors was very important in shutting out one of the Pies weapons Apologies to Gawn and Watts, Howey fell away in second half so misses out for mine
