  1. A former assistant coach in the MFC program told me that TMac likes the idea of scoring chains being started by his possession which is why he sometimes attempts to kick to a harder target than the more obvious and easy target. Seems to thrive on the back patting that comes from a possession that initiates a goal.
  2. I hope not. If Bellchambers pushes forward who will be on him? Frost takes him? So who covers Frost's man? If he pushes back then Watts takes him? So Watts' man runs around all loosey goosey like Rance last week? No thank you.
  3. If teams line up as shown, Lewis and Vince may be done for pace quite easily. Surely Hunt would need to match up on one of those flankers.
  4. So with the assumption that Pedersen will be our number one ruck this weekend, what do Demonlanders think would be a pass mark for our latest stoppage fodder? Personally, if he can split the hit-outs 30/70, take at least half-a-dozen marks and stop their ruckman scoring any goals, I'd say he's done enough.
  5. Judd thinks he's incredible. And on a side note. To maintain his clearance numbers in a team that lost its ruckman (one of them dominant) before half time in two of his five games is under appreciated. It's much easier to get your hands on the footy when you know where it's going. But to do it when the opponents ruckman is tapping it nearly every time is really tough.
  6. And his best one last night was when he was on the ground and managed to hit jones over his right shoulder who was wide open and about to run off and deliver it upfield when they called it back for a throw. I thought it was legit but I was watching it on tv. Anyone at the game get a better look at it?
  7. Not having our ruckman wasn't just about the hit outs. We had no target for our kick ins or rebound 50s. We had no controlled possessions or big guy to bring it to ground to the little guys and they just pumped it back in. Then when we finally got it into our forward line and they just kicked it to Nankervis and got it back down their end. I'm not sure we had trouble rotating Viney back on. It was us who kept kicking it to the other side. Given that we now know he has a knee issue, maybe he was being held for the last 10 minutes of the game? We couldn't get Oliver back on after we took him off and put Tyson back on. I said to my wife when I saw the interchange that we just handicapped ourselves even more with that change. Let's hope Essendon write themselves off with a physical game in the wet tomorrow and make the most of their 5 day break.
  8. Chipped it when he should have bombed it and then bombed it when he should have chipped it. Veterans should know better
  9. Not sure what talls freo have up forward but could frost back up spencer?
  10. It looked to me like Dangerfield was on cruise control for the first half. Don't think they even had him at centre bounces much either, seemed to be forward more. Turned it on every now and then but seemed to be saving himself for the last quarter. Then, whooshka, centre clearances everywhere. I couldn't believe people had Tyson in their bests last week. He butchered plenty of his possessions and handed a couple of crucial balls back to Carlton at important stages. He was a real momentum crusher last week. This week, he just seemed to fall behind a lot. I'd give Bugg a run and rotate somebody else through the middle. Give Petracca more time in there. Or even Salem.
  11. Will be interesting to see what the MRP make of Ryder's little chase down strike to the head after the multiple weeks our boys got.
  12. Free kicks 51-26 in Dogs favour against Swans over the last two times they've met. Would love that kind of service against tough teams.
  13. I think the most telling part of his handpass to Jones to set up his goal was how Jones went to quickly throw it on the boot but then realised he was wiiiiiiiiide open. I think even he was surprised.
  14. I think you should stay home Saturday, but head into the G on Sunday.
  15. Was worried about our short break from Round 5 to Round 6, then realised that Essendon have a 115hr break themselves. Might need some state-of-the-art recovery juice?
  16. I agree they entertained and deserve the lion's share. But other than Adelaide's 5 Friday nights, these two are a looooong way ahead of everybody else.
  17. 8 Friday night games for Swans and 7 for Bulldogs. Wowee!
  18. I heard West Coast are an option for Tippett to free up some $$$ to retain Mitchell
  19. I heard it was more that his body is pretty banged up. His back/rib issues this year were apparently rather significant and he/the club doesn't think he'll get through another vigorous AFL season.
  20. Pretty sure Sydney had 2 of their 4 free kicks in the first part of the first quarter too.
  21. The sad thing is that the dogs supporters are so used to it they don't see it.
