NON MFC: Rd 22 2021
Can someone with a better understanding of the rules explain to me how this play by Hawkins isn't a free kick for taking his eyes off the ball in a marking contest? https://www.afl.com.au/video/664150/hawkins-helps-himself-to-a-crucial-major?videoId=664150&modal=true&type=video&publishFrom=1628930335001 This is a genuine question.

POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs Adelaide
Was in the back for sure. Defender quickly turned around to see if he had been pinged. I'm sure Tex would have gotten the call. Not to mention Oliver getting dropped as he approached the marking contest in the last few seconds. Ball nowhere near him..

Proposed new rules for 2019
The extended goal square just seems so ridiculous. If they want the ball cleared further on kick-outs, why don't they just get rid of the need to kick the ball to yourself to play on and just let them run out of the square. This will give them enough extra distance to kick it out further. If they move the man on the mark back a bit as well, it will get cleared further again. Has to be better than that stupid looking rectangle.

2017 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
We have 1761 points with our picks in the second round. So who are we going to trade these with to get our first round pick? GWS is usually up for a point increase to get their academy players but they only have pick 11 which is 1329 points. Will they need/do it?

Clarence Oliver
Just noticed that Oliver has moved ahead of Hunt, Lewis and Watts in the AFL player ratings. A highly impressive result for a 32 game player. He sits 108th in the AFL overall. Already

I wouldn't be surprised if Smith is being groomed as a forward. Learning the ropes.

Good to see our boy Clarry also selected in a 'hypothetical' state of origin team as well. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-05-31/state-teams-we-name-the-best-of-the-best

Judd thinks he's incredible. And on a side note. To maintain his clearance numbers in a team that lost its ruckman (one of them dominant) before half time in two of his five games is under appreciated. It's much easier to get your hands on the footy when you know where it's going. But to do it when the opponents ruckman is tapping it nearly every time is really tough.

I think the most telling part of his handpass to Jones to set up his goal was how Jones went to quickly throw it on the boot but then realised he was wiiiiiiiiide open. I think even he was surprised.

Tom McDonald?
So Gawn is your answer to Pederson being the answer to McDonald then?
-
Tom McDonald?
Should be easier on everyone when Hogan finally gets a gig so Frawley can go back to where he should be and make the match-ups better for everybody.

Tom McDonald?
When there is very little pressure on the player delivering the ball to the big forwards there's not much you can do. And they ran the ball into their forward 50 a lot. Tom needed a run up to spoil Petrie and rarely got that chance because of good delivery.

Tom McDonald?
Let's not mistake being a good runner with being quick. Pretty tough to have great endurance AND pace.
