  1. Why didn't we wait until malthouse was available so we could at least ask him.
  2. Great move by Carlton. Malthouse is the best coach in the land. He took a struggling collingwood to 8 finals campaigns, 4 grand finals and 1 premiership, and left them stronger than ever. He developed a steely, uncompromising mindset that was rooted in philosophical ideology. His strategies were formulated from gladiatorial warfare. He is the master and I guess Carlton would have to be fools to pass him up. It ponders the question. Why havnt we got him?
  3. Who selected Bailey as head coach? Who selected neeld as head coach? Follow the trail to identify where our cultural problems stem from.
  4. Why would we pick a bloke that wants to play for essendon? Stuff him.
  5. I hope your right, about being premature that is. It is just simply bad form to cull our best players. Neeld is very ruthless, I tell you what, the team he builds better be hard as nails because neeld certainly is. Reminds me of Vladimir Putin. Ogliarchs, you are gone! I am KGB! Fcuk you!
  6. 2 b given a chance is a two way street. Neeld has been given a second year and so should moloney, rivers and green if he wants to. Green in the forward pocket would kick 1-5 per game, even now. Moloney was our best player last year. Rivers is our smartest backman Neelds is just trying to trade, our boys can smell it. 2013, give OUR boys a chance, ffs!
  7. Tapscott Jones Moloney Clark Bartram Frawley Jetta Trengove Grimes Viney These blokes arnt [censored]. Hardnuts actually.
  8. Rrov, the reason why I am excited is because our side now understands the game plan, there will be no more excuses come 2013. We have a good list, now we can finally see if neeld can coach. I am very open to the possibility that we can make finals next year, but gee, neeld took a long time to show anything. Mind you, we havnt had a good win yet, but I saw a little something against the saints. Actually, I saw some direct footy which apparently neeld is against. It's got me stuffed but I will acknowledge good footy when I see it. Sat looked ok. Let's see if we can knock off Adelaide or freo and I will start paying some respect.
  9. I agree hardnut, but that can only be done if they are challenged. Just like in politics, there must be an alternative. Unfortunately for the MFC, there is no 'powerful presence' keeping the board accountable for their decisions. That is why your voice is so important, you are the one of the few that are strong enough to challenge the decisions of all and sundry, and to the best of my knowledge, I agree with nearly all of your posts. I think I have an ally, my friend.
  10. Seriously, some of you blokes would sell out there mothers. Moloney stays. Davey stays. Rivers stays. And I hope green wasn't pushed. Really, neeld makes excuses about experience and if he forces these blokes out, I will be completed dumbfounded. Even having green play 5 games for the season and the rest at Casey is better than not having him at all. Look at gws, young guys need older fellas to look up to. Anyway, I really hope neeld dosnt strip our soul bare, and replace it with mercenaries. Time will tell.
  11. Exactly right. To get rid of Beamer would show disgraceful club culture. Enough to make me not renew my membership, and feel footy is nothing but a business. Footy is a lot more than just cold business, there are fundamental human qualities like loyalty and decency that form the backbone of a great club culture. Rrov, your philosophy is full of holes. Beamer is the reigning b&f, a beast of a man that is coming to grips with a new game plan.
  12. So who exactly is he pointing the finger at?
  13. I love him. Maybe he can be considered in the back pocket? Any thoughts? Also, I wouldn't get rid of his mate bennell just yet, I think he has absolute class on the ground and on the air, however, he is still a boy, watchout when he becomes a man and dosnt give a fuc about pain anymore. He is only 20.
  14. Either you choose 1 captain for 2013, or you include jones and have 3. Having 2 captains dosnt make much sense to me. I think grimes can do the job himself, he seems perfectly suited, a real standup lowkey champion. From my playing days, having one fixed captain gave more clarity.
  15. Rrov, I support our team, always have. I believe we hdve a very promising list. Our players can play great footy, we have all seen it. You seem to lose sight of that fact. Today, I can see some improvement from neelds coaching, yet I am a long way from 'believing' in him. A long way. But after today, I think we can enter 2013 without any excuses or reasons for not winning, and it is 'this' mindset that has warmed my heart. For next year, it is on, and this is why i am excited. No more second guessing. Either neeld can coach us to more victories than losses, for which I will be ecstatic, or we wallow in misery again and he will be gone. It is up to neeld in 2013. Time to deliver. Excuse free footy, AT LAST!
  16. It seems like the penny may have dropped, I am definitely looking forward to 2013, and we must be ready to win from round 1. I want to follow footy again, not hope and dream.
  17. We are playing more direct. Neeld seems to be adjusting his game plan a tad. I still think we have a very promising list. Moloney still looks lost, neeld must freshen him up by maybe playing him in the back pocket like johnson of collingwood or even use him as a tagger in the mold of ling. He is too good a player not to utilize. Sylvia is a potent half forward and I would leave him there. 8 tackles shows his endeavor is not waning. But todays game style seemed a bit more fluent. More instinctive and less second guessing. We still lost, but at least I can finally see something.
  18. Obviously he can play footy, sounds like a natural. I would rookie him. It's sound like he is built like a.jaokovich.
  19. Collingwood 1977 Adelaide 2012 Just putting things in perspective.
  20. Back in 1976, Collingwood were wooden-spooners. They appointed Tom Hafey as coach, and with the same list, they made the Grand Final the next year. North Melbourne's success was due to Barrasssi, a proven premiership coach, complimented by some key recruits. The key ingredient to success is the coach. Do not underestimate the influence of a powerful mentor and motivator with a good game plan. A champion team will beat a team of champions.
  21. I appreciate you thoughtful response. Clarke wanted out of Brisbane and we lured him here, which I think was a great move. A don't think he is a mercinary. Cloke on the other hand, he just wants the cash. He couldnt give a toss about MFC, so we shouldnt give a toss about him. Pure Mercinary if he leaves the Pies. Bad Karma for us aswell. We should be targeting recruits from GWS, bringing Victorian boys back home. We have a few players we can offer up, Bate, Dunn, Pick 3 & 4. It would also be very theraputic. Imagine if we could snare Corniglio.
  22. The reasons why I am questioning the decision making; Firstly, it disgusts me that players like Moloney can even be considered to be traded. Secondly, I am dumbfounded but the constant mistakes that are being made by decisions makers, eg, Bailey over Sheedy, Cook over Darling, Neeld over Malthouse, P.Gardner as President, for example. Thirdly, The thought that we have to go thru another 4 year rebuild. Fourth, that many supporters just accept this shite and actually have blind faith in the process. Who is being made accountable for the state we are in. WHO? And now we are blaming the players for our woes. I wasnt born yesterday, and it seems that people at high levels at the club and now getting desperate, so now a player cull is on the cards, in an effort to free up some space and money so we can purchase some mercinaries in an effort to salvage something. How am I meant to feel? Or do I just blindly believe in the brains trust? I, and many others are justified in expressing our somewhat 'defiant' point of view.
  23. Trap? don't take me for a fool. I Know what it takes to succeed and I don't enter a contest that I know I can't win. Every successful, sustainable endeavor requires enormous levels of commitment. I will not enter the political fray unless I know I have the resources and time to make it work, othewise it is just ego and status. Sustainability is my philosophy. I am only 34, many good years ahead. Demonland prepares one for dealing with many opinions knowing that you can't please everyone. Also, this site re-affirms that the consensus is not always correct. You can't change the consensus, you just have to work with it, and sometimes challenge the status quo. Anyway, we have the saints tomorrow, let's see how we go.
  24. Actually, they appointed G.Lyon to appoint M Neeld who previously failed when appointing D. Bailey. Nice culture.
  25. The only massive changes I would implement are the ones really required to change the culture of the club, and that is not from the players but from the brains trust including board members. Anyways, we are locked in with Neeld until 2014. lets see how he goes. I just hope he dosnt sack too many loyal players, and turn us into a mercinary club.
