  1. Yes had they won the two against GCS and the Hawks Bolton might still be coaching Rjay. I thought they weren't far away either. Wonder what Cripps thinks about the latest goings on though. Might be gettable.
  2. With the Blues in turmoil and likely another rebuild or major reno under a new coach in 2020, Jones in his twilight years and on the verge of retiring, is it time we got our own version of a Dusty type to add to our mid field stocks? Just might be the tincture of tenderness needed to create our Milton and win the big one! ... https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/coupler.foxsports.com.au/api/v1/article/amp/afl/afl-2019-rival-club-could-pinch-patrick-cripps-if-carlton-cant-change-losing-habits-says-mark-maclure/news-story/ca9ee424332a3cd897c556709e728e75
  3. You aren't suggesting the fatal 'Bolton' flu is contagious JD? We are better than that surely!??
  4. 100% sold on that part DV. As well as the list building towards a premiership one. Still plenty of gaps, especially running / speed and finish ones on the outside and in front of the sticks. We have some solid foundations and a frame in place but need to get to lock up and a decent facade within a few seasons if we are to take it all the way under the current Coach & FD (personel). If not the recently constructed brand new house (at least nearing lock up) will quickly become just another well worn knock down ready for demolition and another rebuild (a la the Blues).
  5. A brief look (one to three matches in a block maybe once or twice in a season) when the team is in a strong ladder position with decent percentage playing a few lessor lights (not that there's many of those this year for us!) is fine DV. To bring them back for more after being dropped for only a week (or a few) in the McGoos, showing absolutely no improvement to justify a recall, is nigh on insanity DV and reeks of amature hour.
  6. Haha...last time i saw a response like that was ye olde one fingured Willow salute OD! It was in their general direction anyway.
  7. I would happily pay $20 DJ. Count me as down. I would also think we are more closely aligned with Tassie (historically given past players) than either the Hawks & Norf. Yet here we are trying to tout an NT fan base whose roots lie with SA footy.
  8. Dr you do realise you will be upsetting many of the 24,000 MCC members who are apparently MFC 'supporters' (half of whom hold MFC memberships) with that suggestion! Shame on you sir..shame i say!
  9. Thank goodness you don't or you would have your head buried 20 feet in the sand (yes it's obviously that big!) and be playing T-mac for the rest of the season for little return with no chance to regain some composure/form and confidence by spending a few weeks at Casey. Great clubs do it. I'm not sure why you feel we are too special to use the VFL as a form assist? As i said, Jeffy stays but only for the reason stated. Best of a bad bunch until / if we recruit better (a separate question in itself). Not sure why or how you think Jeffy, in his twilight years and running at about 50% vs a so so 2018, is going to help win us a premiership but anyway. You are obviously a very easily pleased MFC supporter Bandi. Each to their own.
  10. Out: Oscar, Tommy, Spargo, Wags All are either horribly out of form and showing no signs of regaining it (Tommy), not the future of the club in terms of winning a premiership in a premiership window (which will close in the blink of an eye) or depth at best. In: May (for Oscar), Pruess (for Tommy), Lockhart (for Spargo) & Lever (for Wags). As you say, Jeffy stays for now only because there is no other (AFL ready) alternative at this point. JKH and Stretch also depth only but again, need other alternatives which aren't on offer at Casey.
  11. Very shallow kicking range also. Anything outside 40 he probably doesn't make the distance. Early days but certainly not ready for AFL at this point. Needs another season or so at VFL level before another look at senior level. The biggest question mark is not Spargo himself (youth/inexperience/needs time to develop his skills & tank at Casey) but why the hell Goody keeps selecting him in front of Pruess in the first place. Astonishingly poor judgement on a similar scale to the "keep playing Fritsch at HB until he learns the role regardless of how many goals he bleeds" decision when Fritsch clearly doesnt have the two way running or defensive nouse to hold down that role (yet).
  12. Don't usually post tables of stats in the general forums but thought this was relevant given the abominable kicking in the last quarter. Obviously the efficiency improves the further you get towards the back half of the field and we should only be comparing like with like ie., defenders with defenders, inside mids with inside mids etc. MFC Ave Kicking Efficiency Rankings to Rnd 11, 2019

  15. If that's under the guidance of Todd they might be still out there practicing at the start of the QB match SK!
  16. I was out tonight so was able to flick through the first quarter and got to just before half time without getting hopes up (yep even if we were 40 points up at half time i would still not believe we were a certainty given the last 48 years) and then saw this message from mum..... "What a bummer they had that won !!! Very disappointing! Xxx" Initially I was disappointed but then figured mum just saved me an hour of watching what sounds like more of the same MFC crappola! I said before the game this was a very winnable game but not when playing the likes of Spargo, Jeffy and Fritsch (continuing to be played in defence....well done again Mr G). Looks like we can now add Omac.to that list with all the fall out here. And Tom is so far out of form. Did a few good things in the first but no goals again! Might not recover? Trade a stack of the NQRs for Cameron, a super silky outsider and a genuine small forward. Although even that might not save us from ourselves. We are our own worst enemy and have been for an eternity. In addition, why the hec are the boys getting kicking lessons from one of the worst kicks ever in Todd? Any other AFL club would be bringing in the best at it like Plugger, Piggy or The King! Instead we use the worst ....laughable. As was some of the slack lax zoning BS with virtually no pressure in our forward half when the Crows were bringing the ball out of our square from a score. Witches hats and made it too easy to launch inside 50 under very little pressure far too often. As i said after the St Kilda match, Goody has no idea and continues to persist with this nonsense ballistic method for an entire match which is just not plausible. Add to this a no pressure zone in our forward half, far too many NQRs that continue to be gifted games (Omac, Jeffy, JKH & Spargo) and you have a recipe for disaster. How far up were we at half time? Without watching the second half I'm betting at virtually no stage did we try to slow play with possession, control the game and eat up the clock. Am i correct?
  17. No harm in trying Buck but yeh won't be running that variation again. The 3 ins are included in the above predictor using their average composites from this season and last year's season average for Hannan. It's about as accurate as i can get it for this purpose.
  18. Just a little spreadsheet i put together a few seasons back W4TA. Allows me to look at a week in isolation against other teams from previous week's performance which i use for the Stats Predictor. Also how the boys are tracking vs each other using composite averages over any designated block of rounds.
  19. Round 11, 2019 Demons vs Crows (TIO) Pure Stats Predictor has the Crows winning by 26 points Team weighted score from last round (including adjustment for Ins/Outs this round) Demons 53.52 Giants 64.64 Top 6 ranked players (weighted statistical composite) last round Demons Crows Aggregate: 20.98 29.05 Bottom 6 *Omitted for this match Tip: Use landscape mode if viewing from a mobile. Back to the standard method after an attempt at a variation (option B) last week failed abysmally. Would have given us a very very slim chance this week IF we were to hold it together through the mid field and bring what we brought in the final quarter last week for most of this match as the Crows were less efficient last week than we were up forward. If you can believe it! (see below) However this optimism was quickly squashed as soon as i realised the likes of Spargo had been given another game, ahead of Pruess, and the bog ordinary Fritschkreig is more than likely to be played in a defensive role for some unbeknown reason ...again. We are effectively two men short so forget everything i just said. And no, not having a go at Spargo & Fritschkreig. This has come about through poor recruiting catching up with us (lack of depth) and Goody's inability/refusal to recognise that the latter is not a defender's bootlace (at this point). Shown some promise up forward though! Actually make that almost three men down...i just recalled Garlett is still a shadow of his 2019 self and even that was just ok.
  20. A [censored]....was that the hit last week? Thought he just copped a heavy bump
  21. Wow i can't recall seeing him that far back i'm shocked. 7 years is a long stint for 47 games. About 6 games a year. Looking at his history he's either been kept out by the likes of Waite and Daw or incurred injury after injury. Hope he gets a decent run at it. Remembering that the Pod came into the Cats premiership team very late at around 28 i believe. Was considered the Falcon's most important goal kicker according to Norf's player profiles.
  22. Bump* Is everything ok with the Jones boy? Saw his presser today in Darwin and he just doesn't look great. Hoping this is not the case and could be just lacking some decent sleep but thought i would ask in case someone might have heard something on the grapevine.
  23. 32 Wood looks very promising. Early days but might become something very special. Polec having a good night also. Very creative and hard to tackle when he's in form and fit.
