  1. Fritsch needs a few weeks at Casey to find his mojo. He is that far off AFL level at the moment it will be like playing a man down. His confidence is shot, at least down back, and Goody has shown no indication at all that he's likely to shift him forward to his preferred posi.
  2. Not if a bag is just 2 goals!! (our version of a bag!)
  3. No doubt a good chunk of It GCD! Forgot about BBB Barry
  4. Was thinking the same Kent. In particular 2005, 6 & 7 are off the scale. Directly related to the Roos era and lock down defensive side of his style maybe? Just horrid but still managed to snag one in 2005.
  5. Fair enough R&B. You may well be on the money. Thx for clearing that up.
  6. No chance DJ. I prefer to remain under the delusion that I'm still at least young at heart. Getting old is not something i like to be reminded of or account for. Having said that i might need to change my nic to Rusty 'Old' Nails shortly. I see that the official crowd in that last VFL night premiership of ours was 21,000 odd and the largest was 37,000 odd in 1965 between Norf & the Blues. Quite a crowd for shoddy old lakeside! Ty chaps. Yes I forgot about the token night series back then. I commenced attending (some games) about 1970, courtesy of older bro, but wouldn't have been allowed out after 5pm and certainly not without mum & dad in 71!
  7. Once a week for how long i wonder wrecka? Whatever they are doing together it's working a treat. The Eagles never having a negative differential in the last 15 years from 2003. Noting that no other club in that decade and a half has had a postive differential every year like the Coasters. That's 64% more frees than any other club in that time and a massive 1000% + more than us. Amazing result. Margetts started umpiring in 2002. Any chance we could get him on board before he retires?
  8. Lol LD ... after this many years im pretty sure the rust is leaking into the grey matter and has been for a while!
  9. That article and Healy's explanation is just mash buck. What constitutes a valid chain? Where does it start and finish? Does a scoring chain include both points and goals? Assuming it includes points, does it also include rushed junk from spoils? Etc. Clarry needs to clean up much of his work for sure but we can see that by observing. Not sure if this is very revealing at all tbh.
  10. Didnt that bombing work a little against the Swans R&B? I was with you until that last para ... im not understanding that strat. Blonde moment!
  11. I must have entered another dimension SK. That's gone right over my smallish grey matter!
  12. That's funny as i feel like i've been in the twilight zone for about 48 years OD and in that time i'm pretty sure i only saw one night premiership. If you happen to see a day one anytime can you let me know pls. Knowing my luck it's a topsy turvy universe with you on the bright side and me on the dark and i won't even know about it!
  13. That is correct LD ...our performance up forward has been diabolical so far and a player who dishes off with reasonable quality can't be expected to complete the good work further up the field. I would like to see this same comparison if we were managing to hit the side of a barn door more often with shots at goal.
  14. Recent article from Foxtel with a stat that may be indicative of which mid fielders are impacting more on the scoreboard in terms of quantity vs quality possessions ... Full article in link below... https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/coupler.foxsports.com.au/api/v1/article/amp/afl/afl-2019-most-and-least-damaging-midfielders-revealed-and-its-not-good-news-for-a-dee/news-story/41f1545dad0731937ecbae801531c055
  15. You might be thinking other teams that don't bomb it as often as we do R&B. Pruess playing deep and smalls feeding off him, provided they are going both ways and pressuring on the way out in a major way, is ideal for the way we mostly bomb it inside. T-mac pushing higher up creates a bit of extra space for Pruess and the smalls To work in. Hunt will also have a little more freedom to lead Into. Tracc also needs to play off a wing and/or partially inside mid and move out of the forward line for things to start working IMO. Let's face it, the lack of confidence of T-mac and Tracc in front of goal is presently a massive coach and team killer. Both need to play well up the field amd others with a little more polish left to their own devices to produce a better return on the incredible amount of inside looks we are producing. Too much waste so far this season on such enormous effort from a very capable mid field (apart from the inside 50 finish which has been mostly deplorable!). On his own, i agree, Pruess isn't the answer. It's what you do with the overall structure and method that just might result in a cohesive forward line that finally clicks and sees significant improvement on what we've had. Any significant improvement on the mess we've seen so far will be a major step forward. If we keep going with more of the same, against decent opposition, we will get more of the same results ie; great effort and application but just another L on the board due to our woeful inability to convert.
  16. Imagine if we won the big one OD... would get pretty crazy around here
  17. You would need to combine it with a Team (Coach/Captains) review type option similar to the NFL pass interference trial or the cricket RB. Limited to say a maximum of two reviews that reduce each time if the result doesn't go in your favour and obviously a time limit following the decision or non-decision. You would also need to ensure the off field reviewing umpire is a neutral one, otherwise you are still open to seeing biased outcomes such as those we saw on Fri eve. Subject to adding those options i think this is an excellent idea. I doubt the AFL would ever consider it though.
