GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs Brisbane Lions
Demon Dynasty replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
3 players at the coal face there...Oliver basically fell over Viney who was already at the ball....ball gets out the back and of course theyre off to the races. When will we learn to maintain our outside structure and balance. Clear mark to Tommy there ....wtf ?? -

Why do we insist on taking possession when about to be tackled instead of tapping it into space away from opponent then running on to it or just kicking it off the ground up the line? -

Loud calls for play on when its us with possession. Only one or two half hearted "play on" calls when its Brisbane. Then gestures with hands in air after as if thats enough for us..."i hope they are watching me!....if not too bad...the Brissy player can wait forever to dispose". And the AFL wonders why the fans are [censored] with the umpiring. -

Im not sure taking a mark on the arc and immediately playing on into traffic is a good idea. Just hold it up and take a long shot, find a shorter target or kick outside the square. % forward plays rather than manic pls -

Did i miss something SW?
-
To be fair the serious rain makes it doubly hard to adjudicate Mono. Absolutely loving the chaos of wet weather vs the usual insane burst running and "keeping off" efforts into space of the usual dry stuff. Also interesting to see how different players handle the wet conditions. Some get it and some don't. Great 'Ant' (Caleb) weather although Jones has been doing well also in patches.

The Bont having some half here in the wet

I doubt the AFL truly cares SW. As long as most of their favs are in the top 8 and the crowds/ratings are still rolling in. Wasn't the score review originally mooted to be a goal line review only? Then it somehow morphed in to a review of play outside the goal square to determine if the ball was touched. The AFL failed to bed down the goal line stuff and is now struggling with the 'touched' aspect also.
-
Wow another score review fiasco. They didnt show the ball as it went completely over the line, instead stopping and shuffling the replay as it hit the line only. The AFL is a serious joke comp right now

Casey Demons v Box Hill Hawks - Round 13
Demon Dynasty replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Would love to know how Lefau faired outside of his 2 goals. -
What is the AFL doing trialing a new technology past the half way mark in a supposedly professional competition instead of JLT etc?? And when you watched the snicko on the Adelaide reversed decision it was distorting all over the place before the ball even arrived at the post. Yet there was roaming lunatic Brian calling it a successful call! ? GWS has a circus theme song, instigated by the Circus master, Gil, who is commanding an entire circus including Channel 7 (Hamish). For as long as the bulk of Clubs continue to scoff down this rubbish without saying a word I have no sympathy for the Clubs or anyone involved with the AFL, including us. While the clubs continue to eat [censored] Sandwiches then Gil and whoever comes in to replace him will keep serving them up.

Fair enough FD. I only have a bit of scratchy video 8 footage to go by.
-
That's a bit before my time BD. A bunch of mostly tall skinny "twiggy Dunn" gentlemanly types running around in baggy shorts kicking drop kicks to one another!? Happy to go back to that if it results in our first AFL silverware though!

The end of Misson's disastrous reign can't come soon enough. Been a mighty long time since i've seen such an ill prepared and under done team lacking in AFL level fitness and conditioning (even amongst many that weren't effected pre-season) for the start of a season (other than during his reign under Neeld but still under Misson). Not saying all our woes are on Misson but i've yet to see us come out of the blocks and hit the season running (including consistently solid first quarter openings) since he started. Think we will see a completely different team appear next season, subject to the new appointment being kosher.
-
Melk, Lever & Vanders the only injuries to genuinly be hurting us here in terms of the remainder of the season. Joel a pretty poor outcome for a good while now, especially given the disastrous forward output so far. Hibb returning soon but was just coming into some decent form when the collarbone hit. We've all seen plenty of [censored] storms down at demonland as far as injuries over the years but i think this one takes the cake!

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
Demon Dynasty replied to Wiseblood's topic in Melbourne Demons
With a bit of a reminder they might reconsider that view OD? ... ..."For all the grandeur that was 'Marvellous Melbourne' in the 1880s, the city was nicknamed 'Smellbourne', and for good reason. The building of Yan Yean Reservoir in the 1850s had ensured the availability of fresh water, but there was still no sewerage system. An appalling stench wafted from the many cesspits and open drains. 'Nightsoil' (as human waste was politely referred to) polluted the streets and ran into the Yarra. Nightsoil collectors frequently dumped their loads on public roads. Ignorance and neglect of the hygienic disposal of human waste had devastating results at this time when hundreds died in a savage outbreak of typhoid. -

Yes i was very surprised when the news first broke OD. I figured we had been approached by someone from local council or sports minister (et al) within the state govt, asking if we wanted to put a submission in to an up coming community type development. As soon as i saw we were the ones leading the discussion/proposal i completely switched off. -

R.I.P. CBD or inner CBD options. What a waste of time and resources that was. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JAY LOCKHART
Demon Dynasty replied to Mickey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Last season is done. You are only as good as your last season. ie., this one, and so far we've been shizen up forward (prior to Freo) barring the odd game. If you can name me a forward, other than Jeffy, who's regularly hitting the scoreboard (consistently) i'm only too happy to reconsider.
