Splitting Draft Pick 3
After two knee recos can you blame him. He is now in the same precarious situation as Lever. Wouldn't touch him with Frankenstein's barge pole! Crikey yes! Tomo should be the last we get in from this lot as insurance / depth top up in order to get to base camp. After this trade (and hopefully a much improved 2020) we will start filling holes with some top line quality at trade and draft and make an attempt at the summit.

I'm with you on Gunston AD. Very mobile / clever foward and his experience might even help our flailing forward line to organise a tad better and sort things especially in the post runner era. Would bring some much valued craft from the Hawk's system. Any which way we def need a big bodied or clever mobile forward to add some insurance and extra goals in 2020.

There is much we don't know that may be happening behind the scenes AD. I suspect a couple of issues at AFC's end however.... 1. It is potentially in a bit of disarray and a conundrum with regard to the number of players looking to move on and how they will trade/draft to cover them. Let alone the amount of man hours they need to sort it all which might be slowing their whole process down. 2. The willingness of JJ to alter/adjust his own contract to accommodate potential suitors complicates things a little, adding time/length to any discussions. Compounded, those two add up to reasonably sluggish talks/negotiations vs more standard dealings. Also if we are in to Bruce or Gunston and with Gunston a Frosty twist, they might need to play out prior to serious focus elsewhere such as JJ.

The entire club is pre/post camp fiasco effected YB. What's been leaked so far is just the tip of the iceberg. I reckon he'll get somewhere back to pre-camp form with a fresh start wherever he ends up.

Josh Jenkins
They will if he is super unhappy AD. Toxic to a new coach trying to start afresh with a relatively clean slate.

Champagne Gold PF. You are hitting your best form in the off season though! Keep something in the tank for 2020 pls. You do realise such a trade could completely back fire as well?
-
Josh Jenkins
If they see him as a TFG (camp effected) player and will be toxic to their culture going forward with new coach they sure as hell will move heaven and earth to get a deal done. If he is offering to take a $400k (total) pay cut they pay $350k and we pay $250k & pick 42 gets it done. 42 (as per above deal).

Buckenara: Dees List Overrated
Missed Jwag. Almost as bad as the KK assessment. His general commentary in terms of the MFC needs to stop being satisfied with a good year here and there is spot on though. Been doing that for decades and often within season also.
-
Buckenara: Dees List Overrated
That's his major blunder along with KK . Harmes is at least a C+ / B- KK hasn't fired a shot ....yet. Not sure how he has even assessed him. May also. Off 8 games or so? Obviously a bit of dart throwing journalistic license in some of those.

Buckenara: Dees List Overrated
So Bucky's been on Demonland pretty extensively then!

Farewell Sam Frost
I wonder why!
-
Why are the Saints so attractive?
Those two things plus $$. We need a new HQ and fast!
-
Finn Maginness (Drafted by Hawthorn)
Will probably miss though. The alternative forward X factor options for me.... Serong Tehany and Bergman
-
Splitting Draft Pick 3
I'm now of the view we should keep 3 and nab Dylan Stephens. Alternatively Serong, Taheny or Bergman for some goal kicking X factor.

The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Last i heard Lucas said discussions were going well and no hurry to seal this
-
Finn Maginness (Drafted by Hawthorn)
So we need to grab him at 3 Colm

Josh Jenkins
A whisper or two that JJ might be heading to the filth but surely they'd need to offload Cox ...or someone, if that is the case.
-
Finn Maginness (Drafted by Hawthorn)
Someone might want to throw a bucket of ice over me but...he just has something about him that, while maybe not as gazelle like, reminds me just a little of our late great Tulip. P.S. same height as well 183cm

Gun target - Key Forward recruit?
Same. Might explain why the offer was never tabled to Frost (as of yet anyway).

Splitting Draft Pick 3
Personally i feel there's a bit of a gap between the top 12 (approx) and the rest. 3 down to 14 is a big drop before you get a first look. Would want something 10 or under on the first pick.

Josh Jenkins
Nobody is at this point YB.
-
Mason Wood
Ah yes you are right AD. My apologies. Alzheimer's!
-
Finn Maginness (Drafted by Hawthorn)
Thanks mate. Yeh i took a good look previously. Exciting talent off that but looks can be deceiving on these reels sometimes. Just thought you (or someone here) might have had a good look up close. Not saying he's worth a pick 3 but if we happened to split the pick ... grab him around 10 to 15 or so if available.
