Finals Week 3
The Tiges pushing an extra maybe even two up to the contest off the back of.square to pressure the [censored] mid field big time early here.

Finals Week 3
Getting smacked in the ruck/mid contest. Pussys all over them up forward. Cats working super hard to shut down the Tiges normal desire to switch near the middle of the ground forcing them to attempt this much deeper with less effect/damage, often locking them in on the opposite pocket or flank they've just switched to. Lots of possession by hand and foot from the Cats is stiffling the usual Tiger chaos off hb including their usual style of hitting/bunting the loose balls forward then running on to the loose/bouncing ball into the 50 arc etc. Work rate / pressure on ball carrier pretty amazing so far. Better than i thought. Was thinking Tigers by a solid 6 goals or so.

Farewell Sam Frost
Spot on R&B. You would think we were a top four or five Vic club the way some believe/d we can easily replace the likes of a Howe/Frosty and attract or just cover with better in a blink. Wakey wakey guys. After the dogs breakfast that was 2019 i would wager very few quality FAs will be busting our door down to replace the likes of Frosty that would result in a significant/meaningful upgrade. Many on here said Howe wasn't worth keeping years ago and there were so many on the list that would or were better as an easy replace/cover (O-Mac, Garlo, Pedo). Yet here we are watching him perform solidly for the Pies year after year and helping them solidify there D, which he did from day one. How are those others looking? While Howe may not have stayed regardless due to the boyhood lure for the Pies, the walter mittys on here never cease to amaze with their daydreaming. Many were no doubt also applauding the decision to play O-Mac ahead of Frosty and earlier Dunn who was left to rot in the McGoos years ago telling any doubters they were delusional and O-Mac would surpass Dunn within a season or two and already had him covered.

Finals Week 3
What's with players running from way behind /alongside a player who's marked the ball and taking the mark, allowing his fellow player who was originally on the mark to run back and defend!?? No free ever called ...what happened to the protected zone?????

Papley seems more likely to go to Norf LH. Martin appears to be a lock with the Blues but with Casboult likely to be loosed does that mean the Blues are still eager to add another KF to their stocks? Patton might have other options of course and this might be one of a few meet & greets prior to deciding.- Jon Patton

Great summary ty Gents. May we never return to that dusty bowl that offers absolutely nothing to the mighty redlegs. One of many boxes we need to tick off in our climb back to greatness including .... > home base (outside the CBD if necessary ); and > Training on our traditional home turf - the G (at least once a week).- Lyon: Save $$ on Tomlinson, Go All ln on Whitfield
☝???- AVB on Overcoming Injury
Yes our angry friend mentioned fitness wasn't the issue up there WB...again! Said "cohesion and consistency" were the issues. I assume he us speaking about the players not having the usual amount of training time together as a unit on the park. While I have no doubt this would have had a significant effect, there's also no way every player was fit in terms of a full pre-season fit either. I have heard of at least two players who were only able to complete half of the required sessions usually expected. They may well have completed their required loads as angry bird said but this would have been over a massively reduced program. Two isn't alot but probably weren't alone and they were both top of the tree seniors. The above two factors no doubt contributed and among so many it was on show from the opening rounds.- AVB on Overcoming Injury
Ah good ol' Saty. Would he ever say different? Why i have him on block. Didn't have time to question the source and there was a reluctance to go further anyway so who knows, Saty could be correct or he might be just sprouting what's said to him publicly. Either way, Burgess looks to be a significant upgrade. Agreed on the first part. If we were talking a runner or physio etc neither here nor there.- AVB on Overcoming Injury
The Burgess factor should likely play a significant role in our bounce next season Ron. My mail suggesting this area dropped the ball and "some" felt the Burgess handover couldn't come soon enough. The replacement probably a year too late in hindsight.- AVB on Overcoming Injury
Finally a worthy 'non-puff piece' update from the club. Most of the prior ones so far have been complete drivel or cringeworthy. He would be well in the leadership group or Co. Captain by now had he not had such a wretched run of luck. Absolutely love the way Vanders goes about his training and game day white line efforts. No coincidence in his return from about Rnd 15 last year and our back half finish. Imagine a co captaincy of Big M and AVB or a Captain / Vice Captain combo. I realise there's too much risk and not enough recent runs on the board for this to happen but, had things been different, i feel we would never have seen the horrid drop off this season, even with the same pre-season / injury issues we had. May the footy gods be with AVB from here on. If he gets some decent game time in over the next 5 years he could be the difference between a decent bounce back and making finals on a regular basis.- Ross Lyon Sacked

I have a sneaking suspicion we would be near or at the top of the "recruiting fails" tree if a study was ever done on it over the last three to four decades Mach.
