  1. My usually spot-on source confirmed last night that he was the one with the illness last week and was touch and go before the game. Brave of him to have even played.
  2. Absolutely. For a guy his size he is terrific below his knees and really creates good contests, even in 2-on-1 situations. How many times was he beaten outright last night? He rarely gets outmarked, and that is obviously the positive transition he is making from the backline. This guy has played footy for about 3 years, and is very big (has put on a lot of muscle over the summer). It took Jamar 8 years to start playing well, and Martin is already miles ahead of him at the same stage of their careers. Good first game!
  3. Jonesy on Twitter Bless his red cotton socks
  4. 6- Frawley (kept the best, most important player on the ground to 0 impact) 5- Moloney (machine) 4- Jamar (domination for the 5th week in a row) 3- Bate (finally he is back) 2- McKenzie (pure guts that kids is) 1- Trengove (just because I am in love with him ) Apologies to everyone else. Seriously, not a single poor player tonight.
  5. Scully is the most intense 18 year old kid I have ever seen. He barely cracks a smile, he barely even pumped the fist after his first goal. Scary Judd-like coolness B) On the other hand, the massive fist pump from Joel McDonald when the siren went was awesome. He was grinning like a pig in [censored].
  6. *vomit*
  7. 2 from remarkably dodgy frees. How was that Grimes free for holding the ball, after the umpires flat out refused to pay holding the ball for the entire game?! I loath Fevola, he and his one remaining brain cell were outplayed tonight, and it was a great sight. (Bloody awesome footballer though)
  8. Having already defeated terrorism earlier in the day Frawley has only played 45 games, and is already the best tall defender I have seen at Melbourne. He is an animal!
  9. That was BEAUTIFUL! Hands down the best win we've had since 2006, and our highest ladder position since 2006 as well. As I said last week, the tide has turned and we are finally on our way. Never in my life have I been more confident of success than I am right now. GO DEES!!!
  10. *BUMP* Absolute star!
  11. Not to rub it in or anything, but you should know by now that I'm always right
  12. Harsh that Bail is the one making way for Martin (still want to argue that it was stupid to suggest there will be a late change Nasher ), unless of course Bail is under an injury cloud. Having said that, I'm glad Jamar is getting some help. Looking forward to, hopefully, a great contest as I head off to a cold MCG. GO DEES!!!!
  13. That's good, because I saw Max Gawn today and he had his leg heavily bandaged from around mid thigh to mid calf and was limping noticeably, which was not a great sight.
  14. I tend to agree with those who think Martin may come in as an emergency. He probably will play if the weather holds up (if the ground if heavy and wet, we don't need another tall, and are better off going with a smaller, faster team). No Power but Black is back. Crap.
  15. And what's Newton ever done to enhance our list?
  16. I understand the sentiment because JB is hands down my favourite player, and I was looking forward to watching him live, but Melbourne trumps any individual player and if JB indeed doesn't play and that helps our cause, then I'll say thank you very much! Being 3-2 and with North, West Coast and Port Adelaide coming up in the next 4 weeks, would be a brilliant position to find ourselves in.
  17. I dunno about Jonathon Brown, but I do hope that Jonathan Brown doesn't play. That Jonathon is such a try-hard loser
  18. Ruckmen are not important enough to waste first round picks on. Sure Jamar has been crucial to our success this year, but guess what, he was a rookie... as was Sandilands, and Cox and Jolly (?). For a ruckman to be worth a first round pick they'd have to have a lot of other strings to their bow, like Kreuzer and Naitanui
  19. If you live in Melbourne you should have no excuse not to go, so it's irrelevant. It makes sense that St Kilda supporters who want to watch their team play interstate, should have access to the game on free to air, whereas Melbourne supporters can just go the game... as they should! Obviously it's better for us if we can get he neutral supporters watching our game, but until we are playing good footy again, it's just not going to happen.
  20. Absolutely everything will have to go our way if we are to win, and that hardly ever happens. I'm hoping for a close game with Brisbane getting on top of us in a short 10-15 minute burst, to win by about 24 points. If we win I'd be shocked, thrilled and a little bit worried that I got a holiday booked in September
  21. Morton 2 weeks away? GREAT news!
  22. Sure we did
  23. His entire family is now living in Victoria. What would make him want to move back?
  24. I really don't understand the anger that is still being directed at Thompson. He requested to go home for very good reasons and made sure we received a fair and honest trade for him, which we did (you could argue that we should have used pick 12 on a new draftee and not on Moloney, but that's a different story). He hasn't done anything wrong and left the club on very good terms. Would I take him back? No, because I think he isn't going to necessarily fill any gaps we have in our list, and I'd rather he didn't take up the spot of an up and coming youngster given his age. But he is a damn good footballer, and for the right price (i.e.- if he wanted to come back to the MFC, entered the PSD and put a price on his head to ensure he got to us), then I'd certainly not say no. He is better than Bruce, Moloney and Jones who are getting regular midfield games at our club.
