  1. Yep, and because he generally plays on smaller opponents, he ends up tackling high because he has height advantage over them. Mind you, the stupid free kick in the backline at the start of the game was Warnock's fault, not Garland's. Bloody Sultana got stuck into him and Warnock lost it. The whole game was full of disappointing mistakes.
  2. I thought Scully's kicking on Saturday was brilliant, despite the conditions. He hit some great pin-point passes. I think we underestimate how nervous these kids might feel early on, so I'll reserve my judgement on Gysbert's kicking. Didn't he rank very highly in the kicking test at draft camp?
  3. If you're going to play Bell, it has to be in the backline. He will do alright on one of Collingwood's smalls, but I don't want him in the middle. At one point or another you have to expose these kids to the real stuff, and to be honest I think Grimes, Trengove, Mckenzie and Scully can all hold their own. They haven't taken a backwards step since they started, and they'll still have Moloney and Jamar there, and probably Green and Bruce on the outside for support.
  4. I'd give Grimes and Strauss a run in the middle, along with McKenzie and bring in Cheney to replace Grimes. Cheney has worked his butt off for weeks now and deserves a recall, and if Jones and Junior are out then it is the perfect opportunity for us to give some guys a run in the middle. I love Bell for his endeavor and heart, and I've been a big supporter of his, but in all honesty he is not good enough and we shouldn't waste development opportunities on him.
  5. Deanox for the win! B)
  6. Absolutely 100% spot on. Davey has been playing for a long time, and has been getting close attention for years, and yet he still reacts like a 10 year old when somebody niggles him. His behaviour yesterday was honestly pathetic for someone with his level of experience and someone who is in the leadership group. I've seen him do it in finals, and I've seen him do it during H&A matches. Bailey dragged him numerous times yesterday and rightfully so. I'd consider dropping him this week for disciplinary reasons, if we weren't playing such a big important game. He set the worst example of anyone out on the field yesterday.
  7. I spent the entire game with my heart feeling like Barry Hall just punched it. Don't think I've ever been that gutted or disgusted with our team in the Bailey era, and I've seen every single game we've played since 2007. It was inexcusable, and not just because we played the one team in the AFL who I would honestly be happy to see disappear from the competition.
  8. Yep, Carlton played the men and it worked a treat for them, because sadly our kids didn't know how to cope with it and our senior players lost the plot when challenged. Davey, Moloney, Miller, even Junior all gave away stupid, unnecessary free kicks out of frustration. We played into Carlton's cheating, filthy, scumbag hands, and that is by far the most depressing and gut-wrenching aspect of yesterday's game. I'd be seriously tempted to drop Davey after his disgraceful efforts, but I know it won't happen.
  9. We had 50,000 yesterday, so we should have 65,000 next week, especially if the weather holds up. I'm really looking forward to next week. I'll be in Sydney on the weekend but I'm flying back in the morning in time for the game. If Tiger Airways stuffs me around and delays my flight I'm gonna turn into one of those psycho passengers you see on TV
  10. I had a scum supporter walk past me in anger in the third when we made a comeback and knock my (previous broken) knee with a bag full of drink bottles... lucky my dad was there to hold me back from punching him in the face. GOD I HATE CARLTON!!!!!
  11. In: FRAWLEY, McKenzie, Dunn (can't not reward someone who kicked 8) Out: Jones (inj), Rivers, Miller
  12. It won't, but when a young team is down early, their first instinct is to defend. That's why we have to learn to start games well, instead of always playing catchup footy.
  13. The reason this keeps happening is because we find ourselves 5 goals down in the first 15 minutes of almost every game, and hence play defensive catch-up football for the rest of the game. We have to stop losing games in the first quarter. We are NEVER at the contest until half way through the second quarter, by which time we need to defend against big scores being kicked against us, while also trying to create enough scoring opportunities ourselves.
  14. 6- Grimes 5- Gysberts 4- Morton 3- Jamar 2- Green 1- Junior Davey had his worst game possibly ever. He completely lost the plot, and it astounds me that after so many years he still has no idea how to deal with the tag. Pathetic leadership.
  15. OMG, here we go again. It was a dirty day for forwards, and in his 5th games he didn't play well. Call the football police and arrest the kid, because somebody needs to think about the children and humanity and all that. Watts won't learn anything in the VFL that he doesn't already know. He needs game time, and plenty of it, to gain experience. [censored] games will come his way as he develops and the absolute worst thing we can do is jump up and down and scream about it.
  16. Absolutely pathetic display with no excuse whatsoever. If ever you were going to come out and play well, do it against our scumbag rivals in front of a big crowd. They played the men like the dirty [censored] that they are, and we let them. On a bright note, if Grimes is not our best player he's in the top 3. Absolute gun.
  17. I don't remember the last time I was this filthy and disgusted with this team. Shocking!
  18. I've seen average forward lines in premiership teams. When was the last time a premiership side had an average backline?
  19. Defense wins premierships.
  20. I'm not one to bask in the misery of others, but come on, that is just the most perfect example of karma.
  21. Kreuzer won't play up there all game, and Waite and Houlihan are more medium sized forwards than true talls. Bartram 181cm Frawley 193cm Bruce 190cm Grimes 187cm Rivers 192cm Garland (if he plays) 191cm Plus you've got Morton as an option at 192cm I'm pretty comfortable with our defense going into the match, although if Garland misses out and is replaced by Cheney who is 184cm we might struggle for a height a little.
  22. Well they've dropped Henderson, and they have a smallish forwardline, so it makes sense. Their midfield is their strength, so we'll need plenty of rotations to run them off their feet at the G.
  23. I have a feeling they are giving Rivers every chance to prove that he still has a spot in the side, and that they'll stick with him for the rest of the season before making a call. Very surprised about Warnock though. He had a shocker last week, but I definitely see him as part of a our future. So happy to see Scully and Trengove back. Good team! Disappointed about Brock, and I reckon the boys will be too. It was a bit of an added incentive to win.
  24. Ricky's latest tweet: "Great to be back down the club! is it weird to miss a whole bunch of boys? haha"
  25. From what I've been hearing he is a nightmare to coach, and a nightmare to get along with. His teammates don't like him, and neither do the coaching staff. Yes he has talent, but talent without attitude counts for little. If Warsfold, who is a very tough coach, couldn't deal with him, and Richmond want him out, I can't see how we could turn him around, or more importantly, why we should. You'd consider it for a very very cheap deal, where the risk is minimal, but I certainly wouldn't look to trade anything decent for him.
