I don't think anyone is complaining, just pointing obvious things out. Bate had like 2 possessions at half time, and was clearly struggling to find his feet. So much so Bailey put him down back. Things are never as good or as bad as they seem. We certainly should be happy and proud of this effort but it means nothing if we get comfortable and come out with a pathetic display again next week. We have to strive for perfection from everyone in the team or we'll never be real contenders. Bate had a poor game in comparison to his teammates. He also hasn't played all year so you expect he'll take a few weeks to warm up. I just question whether we get any value out of Bate and Dunn in the same forwardline at the expense of Martin, when Jamar could hardly walk in the last quarter. I think both are third talls who can do the defensive thing well, and kick us some goals, but two of them are an overkill for me. Imagine if it was Jamar who went down in the first quarter with an ankle injury. Edit: BTW I think Bate absolutely deserved a game after his efforts last week in the VFL, but I don't know whether it was the right move to keep Dunn and use him as a second ruck. Obviously everything came off today but I don't think it's a long term strategy.

Hate to be critical after this win, but let's be honest, when the pressure was on in the first quarter he was quiet. When the flood gates open he is the one player you want in your side because he'll kill the opposition with his finishing skills, but just don't rely on him to get you going.

I loved that Bailey threw him into the centre square, made him go hard and get hit. He has had a habit of hearing footsteps and not going hard enough for the ball. Today he was excellent in the contests and really stood out with his much renowned kicking. Excellent game from him and one he has to always strive for. Definitely shows that he is wasted as a small forward.

Yeah I think he was pretty damn exhausted towards the end of the match, but his ball sense was excellent even late in the last quarter with some good tap ons. Jamar concerns me greatly. We are running this man into the ground. He could barely walk to the bench in the last. We have to bring Martin back in to give him a bigger rest. If he gets injured we are f'ed!

Was on crutches post game but no bandage on the foot. You'd think if it was broken he'd have been in hospital getting x-rays and a cast/boot. Perhaps just bad bruising? Fingers crossed because I reckon Bail's game today was good enough to give Grimes more runs in the middle.

I'm about to jump the fence and slap him across the head. Wtf was Bailey thinking, bringing in Bate instead of Martin only to throw him down back and have him fail miserably? FMD! Grimsey hope it's not too serious. I'm worried we are going to run out of legs so we have to open a bigger lead or they'll run us over in the last. Watts and Tappy

There will always be those who over and under react to things. From my point of view though, I have never been less passionate about this club. Even in our dark years of 2007-2010 I felt more excitement than I do right now. I will of course continue to support this club and go to games every week but right now, it's only because I feel obligated to do so. I'm not someone who runs away or gives up when things get hard, but right now I'm somewhere between don't care and meh about 2011 and beyond. Hopefully this club can do something in the near future that will raise the excitement level of all jaded (pardon the pun) supporters.

Dunn is very very lucky given they dropped Martin who has been in better form this year. So not excited for this match. This whole season has totally flat lined for me.

J.Mac named for Casey reserves AFL injury list = garbage put together by some work experience kid taking the [censored].

Watts is too young for me to say this, but I'd hit that *shameful* Also that segment was hardly worth me watching a whole 15 minutes of The Footy Show. Worst.Show.Ever.

This better be good because my eyes are already bleeding after watching 5 minutes of this show. Goddamn that's some crap TV!

The degrading of one of our own players in this thread is what's truly embarrassing. Get a grip people!

The only thing between Sylvia and being an A grade 'elite' footballer is consistency. He has never had it on or off the field, so until he finds a way to achieve mental and physical consistency he'll never be more than a good B grader.

Northern Bullants v Casey Scorpions
Jaded No More replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
J.MAC!!!! Super exciting 1 game in the reserves, 1 game in the seniors then straight in for Round 9 vs. St Kilda? Fingers crossed. -
It was a general comment. But you'll excuse me if after last week's epic disaster the words "Michael Newton" don't fill me with joy and happiness. IMO, with the exception of Morton, the changes this week are soft. Rivers is 'injured', and no other senior player has been made accountable for their performance. Let's hope the same players who have given us little this season repay Bailey's faith. Martin is stiff to get dropped, and I hope we go with one ruck and Newton remains at Casey where he excels. Edit: HOW IS DUNN STILL GETTING A GAME THIS WEEK?!?!?!
-
What I would love to know is what has Martin done wrong that he gets dropped ahead of guys like Davey who were shizen last week and since round 1. Lots of shuffling of deck chairs on board a sinking ship really. Very ordinary ins but I suppose the only two good players we have left are injured.
-
If that was true the club would have placed him on the long term injury list so they could promote another rookie.

Tonight is the turning point for the MFC.

Absolutely. As someone who somehow ends up dealing with customer feedback at work, I can tell you that it is the worst most irritating thing you can do and often leaves me in a complete and utter state of rage. If I didn't have a pre-prepared format to answer the hundreds of inane, ridiculous and mostly wastefully idiotic feedback, I'd have jumped straight out the window and into the Yarra river a long time ago. In short, stop wasting the time and sanity of MFC employees. You aren't telling them anything they don't already know and frankly, they don't care about your opinion. -
Or she will continue to think of you as her greatest failure. Either way, you ain't fixing anything by skipping the footy.

Too many lame excuses about Mothers Day. My mum knows very well that she gets either breakfast or dinner, and if she wants to spend the whole day with us she has to come to the footy. Toughen up your mums people! B)

Ummm worst thread ever? Also, strange way to come out of the closet.

I went to every single Victorian match between 2007-2009 (in fact, I haven't missed a Vic game since I was on school camp in 99!), so I'm not about to start skipping games because we suck. I'm used to it
