Sensational win, because it came from wanting the ball more, going harder, tackling better and pressuring the ball carrier, not just because we out-ran our opponent. Going to really enjoy celebrating that one tonight! GO DEES! B)

Gun. All the doubters can go take a long walk off a short pier.

Let me say that I don't know whether Scully will or won't go to GWS, but the above is ABSOLUTE BS! Scully has NOT signed anything with anyone. Neither have his parents/friends/neighbours. What a shock that people at GWS/ his dodgy management company are saying he has. It's called playing the game.
-
OK so I'm either really dumb, or you make no sense. Please tell me firstly what is this Hutchy story you keep talking about, then please explain in specific details what half he got wrong, and what is the right info that you have which makes you think he will possibly go to Richmond? Either outline these things or go away.

STEP AWAY FROM THIS THREAD PEOPLE!
-
The latest twist in this thread makes absolutely no sense. When was the last time a player decided to go back to the club they supported as a kid? IT NEVER HAPPENS. Move on. Scully cannot and will not get to any other club bar GWS. They have more money and more draft picks than any other club. Collingwood can barely afford to squeeze their current lot of stars in their cap. Reckon they'll squeeze out someone like Thomas to fit Scully in? Unlikely. As for Richmond, give me a break. They aren't going to compromise their young list by giving Scully a huge contract, nor will Scully have any reason to go to Richmond. Their chances of success aren't better than ours.

I gotta laugh when we're talking about Simon Buckley. Why? Didn't he eat chips with sauce at a game once?! His groins are stuffed, he is a very average player and we have replaced him with much better players. If he wants to have a sook, he can go right ahead. I don't see Collingwood's coaches or facilities are helping his groins either. For someone who supposedly grew up a Melbourne supporter and is now playing for the reigning premiers, he sure is misguidedly bitter.

Disgrace. Delete entire post then. Really no reason to post unless you have a detailed report about Scully's emotional well being, state of mind and living situation
-
Hahaha I really hope people PM you constantly now to discuss Tom Scully further. Good luck with that!
-
Jurrah is the type of players that you keep persisting with unless his body is utterly falling apart, because he will: A- always draw a quality defender who will rarely risk running off him B- can do ridiculous things and turn games in a matter of minutes C- no matter who replaces him, they are very unlikely to deliver 2-3 goals every single week
-
Biggest load of shite. Crowley had a sook (I detest that moron!) after the weakest back elbow you will ever see. I'd be shocked if it doesn't get thrown out. Over reactionary rubbish from the umpire.
-
His management does not control him. If Tom said to his manager, [censored] off with this crap I want to sign/ announce I'm leaving/ switch to NRL, they would have to live with his wishes. They work for him, not the other way around. He does what he wants, and at the end of the day, it is all his decision, his choice and his doing.

So insightful Good to see nothing fazes this kid. Too bad us supporters can't just sit back and relax at the possibility of our number one draft pick leaving the club. I guess we are a lot more emotionally connected to this issue than he is, which is hard to understand. Either he really doesn't give a crap about it all, or he is one awesome actor.

I think this is the hardest thing for us supporters, the emotional investment we make in our players doesn't come as naturally with Scully due to fear of abandonment. I try really hard to love everything he does and be super impressed with him, but it's very very hard to watch him play well. I almost want him to struggle, to stuff up, in some sick twisted way it might make me feel less heartbroken if he leaves. I completely understand that he wants to weigh up his options, get the best possible deal for himself, but there are many people who are impacted by his lack of decision making. It's definitely annoying to have a great win like today, and then turn on the radio and have every station talk about nothing but Scully's contract situation. That may not be his intention, or even his fault, but it is a direct result of what he is choosing to do, or not do, as the case may be. It's been just 3 weeks since he's been back playing. Can the club really absorb this sort of scrutiny for another 12 weeks?
-
I always laughed at people who said he wasn't hard enough. He does as much hard stuff as most 19 year old skinny talls. He has also started to use his size and push opponents out of the way, which is great to see. He has very very few weaknesses, and the ones he does have, are easily fixed. And I think McKenzie might get the coaches' votes for shutting down Pav and dominating himself, but Watts' ball use today was sublime.
-
Hang on, how could Scully have signed when GWS can't sign anyone until the end of the season?
-
CC said soreness before the game. Also said we'll rest some of our young kids between now and the end of the season. Gysberts had a limited pre season, and some hard games since coming back into the side. I'm happy they chose to rest him, especially if the soreness was groin or back related. No need to push his body too hard given his previous injuries.

Definitely not on crutches when coming off the ground, no ice, no strapping, just a small limp. Was he on crutches in the rooms?
-
6- Watts (star. simple) 5- McKenzie (words can't describe how much I LOVE this kid!!!! ) 4- Martin (what a turnaround) 3- Scully 2- Green 1- Howe Dan Nicholson was super impressive, as were the backline boys in Garland and Frawley and McDonald. Rivers had a better game too.
-
Swore profusely as he was coming off the ground and straight into the rooms. FFS, we can never just enjoy a game can we? Hope it's the ankle and not the foot.
-
Good changes. Wrapt to see Garland back! Will be interesting to see where Ricky plays given we dropped two midfielders and brought in KPD and a forward.

Pretty interesting this tiny little article on the HS website... Tom Scully's future a secret: Ryan Bastinac Bastinac is one of Scully's best friends. He says he is staying at North (clearly he isn't getting the cash thrown at him by GWS B)). On Scully: "He's probably got his mind made up and knows what he's going to do," Bastinac, 19, said. "I do feel for him a little bit, but knowing him well I know it's not going to get to him at all. "He will definitely make the right decision for him and the footy club." Make of that what you will. I suppose it's good that the lure of playing with his best mate up in GWS is not going to be an issue, and the fact that Bastinac mentions he'll do the right think by the club means he probably does feel a sense of loyalty and responsibility. Bailey mentioned on SEN tonight that Scully feels like he can be a part of, and take this club to a successful era, and I suppose when it comes down to it, his main motivation will continue to be premiership success (something that Ablett had already experienced, and that the other established players who went to GWS couldn't see happening at their previous clubs... Brisbane Lions anyone?!) Funny how I'm in negotiations with my employer for a promotion, and even though one role has more money than another, my heart is really pushing me towards the lesser paid role because I can see it leading to greater success in my career. Sometimes it's not all about money (not that anyone is throwing millions at me )

If my auntie had balls she'd be my uncle. No club gets it 100% right 100% of the time. Also, Jurrah.

This thread is like The Bald and the Beautiful. I don't watch it for 4 years, then one day I'm home sick so I watch it, and guess what... nothing has changed. The plot is the same, this guy is still trying to crack onto his half sister, this other guy is still drunk and somehow Tom Scully is a cheating, lying scumbag traitor who is going to GWS because Sheedy drugged him, had some girl impregnate herself with his sperm and now he has to make good to his baby mama. Worst.Thread.Ever............. (which I of course cannot stop reading)

In 13 years I have never left a game early. Today I had to. There is only so much emotional investment you can make in something before you've had enough of it kicking you in the guts repeatedly. I've put up with it in life, but I don't have to put up with it in footy.
