  1. I've been completely impressed with Strauss' defensive work since he's come into the side. Does anyone know who his direct opponent was on Saturday? Because that to me is a measure of a good defender, he did his job and we saw nothing from his opponent. His kicking can be an absolute weapon, and so the more comfortable he gets defensively the more he'll take on his opponent and slice through half back with his beautiful kicking. He's quietly been doing a very nice job, which is great to see after a tough first few years in footy.
  2. I don't understand why you've been given so much crap for reporting what you heard, although I think your first post was quite misleading. Either way, I think everyone at GWS have vested interest in getting Scully and lying about securing his services. As far as sources are concerned, they're up there with Scully's dog walker.
  3. I'd get Davey back into the forwardline ASAP to work as the crumber and get LJ flying again. To stop someone like LJ from playing his natural, instinctive game, is criminal. I get that it's part of a team setup, and we are missing ground work skills in the forwardline at the moment (although Watts is doing remarkable things below his knees), but we have to rectify this and get LJ playing his natural game again.
  4. I'm going to hazard a guess that Scully is not going to be too pleased to hear that GWS are telling anyone who will listen (which granted is roughly 3 people), that he is theirs. That brands him as a liar, a cheat and a scumbag for having already signed a deal with them.
  5. Absolutely. Nobody, bar Petterd in Round 1, has given us anything as a sub this entire season. Bennell did less than Morton as the sub last week, and Bennell had the luxury of coming onto the ground when we were 10 goals up. I have a lot of time for Morton, and yes he is going through a very ordinary patch. Confidence is very hard to gain and very easy to lose. I think he needs a solid pre-season and a proper role in the team that he can play in with a certain level of consistency, which I think is something he has lacked for his entire career. The haters are clearly not coping with having so many good players on the list and nobody to hang crap on.
  6. Because he stood in front of the media at the start of the year and told us he hasn't, and he isn't a liar. Because if he had made a deal with GWS the club would know about it and he wouldn't be getting a game. And because I know. He may well still choose to go to GWS, but he hasn't signed, dealt with, or even looked at a contract. And as frustrating as it is, he won't do so until the end of the season.
  7. If we want to play finals, we have to win the next 2 games, and our final 3/4 games, given we will lose Rounds 18,19 and 20 where we play Hawthorn, Geelong and Carlton (although lets hope we smash them!). It's pretty simple, our effort will dictate our reward. This whole Etihad/we haven't beaten a decent Vic side in years, is pure and utter shite. It's all irrelevant hoodoo. We have to get over it and pump the Dogs, who are well and truly down on form and confidence.
  8. I absolutely don't doubt that you are reporting what you heard, but I absolutely 110% know that Scully has not sealed any sort of deal with GWS. The rest of the [censored] you were told, is therefore irrelevant. P.S.- good to see GWS have at least one member. It'll be lonely for them on the bottom
  9. Didn't hear anyone boo him, but any Melbourne supporters who did should be ashamed of themselves. Miller gave his absolute best to our club for many years, was a leader and highly respected and loved by everyone. He was sad to leave the club, and I'm thrilled for him that he has found another opportunity elsewhere. Where these moronic 'hard feelings' come from, I have no idea. He is not a great player, but he is a star human being and deserves a minimal level of decency and respect.
  10. 6. Moloney 5. Watts 4. Garland 3. Jones 2. Trengove 1. Frawley
  11. I had the pleasure of sitting behind 4 teenage boys, with the combined IQ of a cockroach. They got stuck into everyone from Jack Watts to Jim Stynes. It took a lot of self control not to punch them all in the head. I appreciate the passion that Tigers' supporters show, but these guys made singing the song after the game just that much sweeter. Shameful to think that these idiots are the future of our country, I'd be surprised if they know how to count to 10.
  12. Sensational win, because it came from wanting the ball more, going harder, tackling better and pressuring the ball carrier, not just because we out-ran our opponent. Going to really enjoy celebrating that one tonight! GO DEES! B)
  13. Gun. All the doubters can go take a long walk off a short pier.
  14. Let me say that I don't know whether Scully will or won't go to GWS, but the above is ABSOLUTE BS! Scully has NOT signed anything with anyone. Neither have his parents/friends/neighbours. What a shock that people at GWS/ his dodgy management company are saying he has. It's called playing the game.
  15. OK so I'm either really dumb, or you make no sense. Please tell me firstly what is this Hutchy story you keep talking about, then please explain in specific details what half he got wrong, and what is the right info that you have which makes you think he will possibly go to Richmond? Either outline these things or go away.
  16. STEP AWAY FROM THIS THREAD PEOPLE!
  17. The latest twist in this thread makes absolutely no sense. When was the last time a player decided to go back to the club they supported as a kid? IT NEVER HAPPENS. Move on. Scully cannot and will not get to any other club bar GWS. They have more money and more draft picks than any other club. Collingwood can barely afford to squeeze their current lot of stars in their cap. Reckon they'll squeeze out someone like Thomas to fit Scully in? Unlikely. As for Richmond, give me a break. They aren't going to compromise their young list by giving Scully a huge contract, nor will Scully have any reason to go to Richmond. Their chances of success aren't better than ours.
  18. I gotta laugh when we're talking about Simon Buckley. Why? Didn't he eat chips with sauce at a game once?! His groins are stuffed, he is a very average player and we have replaced him with much better players. If he wants to have a sook, he can go right ahead. I don't see Collingwood's coaches or facilities are helping his groins either. For someone who supposedly grew up a Melbourne supporter and is now playing for the reigning premiers, he sure is misguidedly bitter.
  19. Disgrace. Delete entire post then. Really no reason to post unless you have a detailed report about Scully's emotional well being, state of mind and living situation
  20. Hahaha I really hope people PM you constantly now to discuss Tom Scully further. Good luck with that!
  21. Jurrah is the type of players that you keep persisting with unless his body is utterly falling apart, because he will: A- always draw a quality defender who will rarely risk running off him B- can do ridiculous things and turn games in a matter of minutes C- no matter who replaces him, they are very unlikely to deliver 2-3 goals every single week
  22. Biggest load of shite. Crowley had a sook (I detest that moron!) after the weakest back elbow you will ever see. I'd be shocked if it doesn't get thrown out. Over reactionary rubbish from the umpire.
  23. His management does not control him. If Tom said to his manager, [censored] off with this crap I want to sign/ announce I'm leaving/ switch to NRL, they would have to live with his wishes. They work for him, not the other way around. He does what he wants, and at the end of the day, it is all his decision, his choice and his doing.
  24. So insightful Good to see nothing fazes this kid. Too bad us supporters can't just sit back and relax at the possibility of our number one draft pick leaving the club. I guess we are a lot more emotionally connected to this issue than he is, which is hard to understand. Either he really doesn't give a crap about it all, or he is one awesome actor.
  25. I think this is the hardest thing for us supporters, the emotional investment we make in our players doesn't come as naturally with Scully due to fear of abandonment. I try really hard to love everything he does and be super impressed with him, but it's very very hard to watch him play well. I almost want him to struggle, to stuff up, in some sick twisted way it might make me feel less heartbroken if he leaves. I completely understand that he wants to weigh up his options, get the best possible deal for himself, but there are many people who are impacted by his lack of decision making. It's definitely annoying to have a great win like today, and then turn on the radio and have every station talk about nothing but Scully's contract situation. That may not be his intention, or even his fault, but it is a direct result of what he is choosing to do, or not do, as the case may be. It's been just 3 weeks since he's been back playing. Can the club really absorb this sort of scrutiny for another 12 weeks?
