  1. Me too. He was one ankle injury away from winning a flag. Now he plays for West Coast.
  2. It is possible that after 3 weeks Melksham won’t be sub again and will have a full run at Casey not to lose fitness. If we bring Pickett in for BB then we should have Tomlinson as sub.
  3. I don't think I ever enjoyed a game of football from start to finish like I did that PF. Don't get me wrong, the Grand Final was on a different level, but of course like every other Melbourne supporter there were moments of apprehension and worry. Not the prelim. It was pure bliss.
  4. Absolutely. I can totally respect that he’d get a game at most clubs and if he’s struggling to get one at ours he has every right to explore that. He is way way too good to play VFL.
  5. I really hate dancing on the graves of other clubs…. Except for clubs that have danced on ours in the past so
  6. May is really good to listen to. Honest, well spoken, funny. He's great!
  7. Maybe Grundy will feel generous and help them out… they are still paying him after all
  8. Exactly right. You don’t tear through skin with multiple broken bones and then run out on a footy field 3 weeks later. If he plays half a season it would be some sort of literal miracle. That he has an infection now would further push back his fitness base too, as he wouldn’t be allowed to break a sweat. Woewodin with a fractured finger has a 6-8 weeks timeframe. A finger. Not an entire arm.
  9. Maybe it’s not frightening maybe it’s about getting family involved because family is important to him. I don’t think they got Byron to read his contract. They probably got him in for a chat and to talk about how limited a time you have playing footy and how important it is to do it in a good environment like the one we are offering him. The fact that his own uncle who also happens to be a decorated footballer is advocating for our club is a wonderful position to find ourselves in. I imagine that if Jackson’s mum advocated for our club he might not be getting plastered on the back of every WA publication calling him No Action Jackson. I also imagine he’d be having chats to another uncle of his, Neville, who I’m sure would also be encouraging him to stay.
  10. I’m just hoping his family truly have his best interests and urge him to stay. Byron obviously thinks he will be best off in Melbourne. Just needs to chat to his ex housemate to know that the grass isn’t always greener. No WA or SA club is closer to a flag than we are. So if money isn’t the issue, and family is not going to be close by no matter where you live, then success has to be the deciding factor. Also I wonder how his girlfriend fits into all this. She’s a Melbourne girl I assume.
  11. Joel Smith has spent more time on an injury list than on a footy field. Gotta feel for him.
  12. Nobody likes to be in rehab I am sure. But good that he is getting the KMs into his legs and keeping his fitness up.
  13. Worrying about Lever, as he's been back to best finally. Hopefully just minor. How did BB look to be moving? Happy that Gawny is running. Not great about the change in direction stuff, but it is still early days.
  14. If it is Caulfield, my retired Dad who lives around the corner already said he will attend every training session and report back... so I mean if that doesn't seal the deal...
  15. Also he's a cute kid. Surely we can organise him a Melbourne based girlfriend!
  16. Confirmed. Smile detected on final siren in 2021 grand final. He saves his smiles only for big games.
  17. When we got the dog I wanted to call him Oliver but my husband said no, even though he’s a ginger dog. He is a real princess tho… the dog not Oliver
  18. It has come to my attention today that Luke Jackson recently adopted a puppy who is both the same breed and has the exact same name as our dog. All is now forgiven 😂
  19. Max Gawn's [censored] > Sam Reid With all due respect to Reid
  20. Seriously? We won a flag with that backline. That is a weird take.
  21. He is an exceptional reader of the play and a great contested mark. I think playing defence is so much harder than playing up forward these days. If we persevere with him up forward, and his goal kicking is solid, he can be a very good 40 goals a year key forward for us. I have no doubts about that. However with May nearing the end, and if Jefferson and JVR continue to impress at both AFL and VFL levels, then we perhaps need to think longer term, and Petty might just be the next great FB for us.
