  1. Because of his decorated coaching career? His successor took the same list from bottom 4 to top 4 in a single season.
  2. The Rampe justification of letting him off is so wild itโ€™s actually unhinged Absolute circus
  3. Does Clarkson coming back magically makes them a top 4 quality side? FFS if we canโ€™t beat a bottom 2 team, we canโ€™t win the flag either.
  4. Should have read my post on page 2. Saved yourself the effort ๐Ÿ˜‚
  5. Itโ€™s not laughable. The reason weโ€™ve been able to manage our TPP without losing a single one of our stars, is because weโ€™re giving younger players longer deals on lower money. Spargo is not a risk at his age. Even as depth, heโ€™s very good. The fact that we still have money to chase players every year, for example Grundy, speaks volumes about how well we are managing our cap.
  6. And of course that one was against us
  7. Can confirm tears were shed in all these games. But I donโ€™t think anything will ever top my truly psychotic outburst when Gawn kicked the goal in round 23 2021.
  8. Knowing our luck theyโ€™d say we breached the rules and take the flag off us ๐Ÿ™„
  9. I mean McVee couldnโ€™t even get drafted until the rookie draft. Things can definitely change. In JT we trust!
  10. The only way he stays in as a permanent fixture is as an inside mid. The only way that happens is if we are committed for Trac to play predominantly forward in the years to come. This could well happen when Clarry finally comes back from his full hamstring amputation.
  11. He said pre game on Friday that heโ€™s hoping to get a game or two in before finals. That would be absolutely fantastic. We canโ€™t win the flag without himโ€ฆ or Clarry.
  12. There is a reason he isnโ€™t playing inside anymore, even tho Dogs lost Dunkley. Last year when he was playing as an inside mid, he only averaged 3.7 clearances and 8.6 contested possessions, going at 54% efficiency Oliverโ€™s stats were higher than that in his first season of football. As I said in a previous post, if he didnโ€™t cost much then of course youโ€™d look at him, and he will probably be a star at Geelong. But he isnโ€™t worth the picks or financial outlay he would require, because he doesnโ€™t fill an obvious gap. I would rather Taylor use our picks to unearth another really classy midfielder via the draft.
  13. Gus doesnโ€™t have the leg speed to play on the same players Hibbo does. If anything youโ€™d give that role to Rivers. I am thinking of opponents like Rachele (I know heโ€™s suspended) or Fogarty as an example. Theyโ€™ll both outmuscle McVee and be too quick for Gus. Hibbo would be a great match up for either as he has the body strength and the pace to play on them. McVee is more like Jetta IMO. He takes the role on that really nimble quick small, like Cameron or this week probably Rankine. Where Hibbo is really unique is that he can play โ€œtallโ€ but he has the speed of a small. He isnโ€™t as easily replaceable as I think a lot of supporters think. It says a lot that at 34 theyโ€™re priming him for finals. If I think about our list, Smith is probably the player who is most โ€œlike for likeโ€, while not being anywhere as consistent.
  14. He isnโ€™t and I suspect he will retire.
  15. Come on now, are you comparing the disposal efficiency of inside mids to an outside runner? Clarry and Trac basically average twice as many contested possessions as Smith. And I know you are not comparing these two champion footballers to him. I know you are not! I canโ€™t even talk about how wrong this comparison is. The guy is struggling to get a game over Oscar Baker. Compare him to Ed Langdon who has a 73% disposal efficiency or Hunter at 66.7% Edit: and for [censored] and giggles, ANB has a better disposal efficiency too at 64.5% ๐Ÿ˜‚
  16. Please name them, Iโ€™m genuinely interested He is a wasteful accumulator. Doesnโ€™t mean he wonโ€™t go to Geelong and be a star, but he isnโ€™t a player who we need or who will make us significantly better. Whereas Geelong are old AF and need to inject speed and youth into their dying midfield. For a packet of chips and $200k sure, but he will cost a bucketload. Money and picks we can spend better elsewhere.
  17. Only difference is that Hibbo is much stronger physically. His combination of power and speed is what makes him such a good defender McVee will get there with a few more pre seasons.
  18. Sloane has given his heart and soul to that club and has had some big personal off field tragedies to overcome at the same time. To think his own supporters can talk about him like heโ€™s yesterdayโ€™s trash is pathetic. Then again, they donโ€™t build them smart over in SA.
  19. I have a better idea 17th v 18th. Winner gets to play Melbourne in the Grand Final
  20. Whatโ€™s the right price for a player we donโ€™t really have use for? We need to concentrate on getting a forward.
  21. I think that's fair, but I also don't think we would trade him for peanuts unless we think he really is not up to it.
  22. They've ditched the timeline graphic altogether I see. Wonderful.
  23. You are probably right. They will also need a lot to go right with their aging list. If they can't get Guthry back to full fitness by September, they are cactus anyway.
  24. No thanks. He can't kick. We have enough of those. Besides, Geelong get what Geelong want. Wonder if Bailey wants a hobby farm.
  25. My biggest concern in all this is Geelong. I don't want them coming in hot. Even if they don't over take us inside the top 4, if they go on a run like they did last year, it could end as badly as last year did. I want the Lions to smash them this weekend and destroy their faux confidence.
