Just shows how he makes every single touch count. I felt exactly the same last night. If Petracca is supposed to be better than Brayshaw then we have absolutely struck gold with these two.

You never know about his kicking - luckily it's a skill that can be taught compared with the aggression and mongrel that he has, which cannot be taught. Nathan Jones struggled to hit a target early in his career and now he rarely wastes the ball. Plenty of time for Jack to work on that but bloody hell, I'm loving what he's producing so far. We'll have the best midfield in the league in 3 years, mark my words.

But that wouldn't really be fair to Richmond... where will they finish?

We haven't played them there, have we? And have they played there at all? Could be a real advantage for us.

I would feel much better if we were to trade in some more capable ruck depth, eg Gorringe from GC. But Maxy is looking like a lock for number one at this stage, as long as he stays fit.

Tough. If Pedersen were fit it would be more straight forward to drop Spencer (who was good, but not as good as Gawn) as Ped can play ruck. I still think it will probably be Spencer and they'll rotate others through there and use the third man up with Howe and Watts.

Would have racked up some genuine brownlow votes in the last few weeks.

Just look at our last two games - couldn't break out of the back half for significant amounts of time at crucial points of the game, the fourth quarter against both Collingwood and the Saints. We need players who can kick the ball to be able to break through opposition presses, and we don't have enough of those players.

I'd hate to be the one who cleans up in their box after the game... the mess left after that wankoff fest would be enormous.

Has it really been six years? He has shown quite a bit at times and I think he'll be safe on the list for a little while longer considering the quality of our big man stocks, but that is a long time for not many games. 'Poor mans Juice Newton'... couldn't think of many worse insults to a player.

And Olisik would be posting even more crapola about Misson.

I think the Bulldogs have absolutely shafted themselves for the next 6 years with this Boyd deal. I don't think he'll be much more than a solid key forward and his paycheck is ridiculous.

I would hope that we look to trade our first pick again, as there should be some good quality players available. If not, draft the best player we can with our pick.

Obviously disappointing for the fans but definitely the right move. I think the clearest message it sends is that we're a more professional outfit now and are trying to manage our most important players so that they aren't hampered by injury concerns in the future.

I agree that we are a couple of players away before we really have enough grunt in the middle, but we can't just focus on one aspect of building a side and ignore the other. There's nothing wrong with picking up Suckling and also going for one or two bigger bodied, inside midfielders.
