  1. McDonald certainly hasn't gained any points in the Bluey the last couple of weeks so Vince would be pushing up there. Personally, I'd still have Jones a nose ahead of Vince in terms of our best player. He's a bit more consistent, but Vince does have the x-factor. If he keeps up current form, he'll surpass Jones in my eyes.
  2. Likewise, I always start strong and crash and burn. Have essentially given up now!
  3. The extremely frustrating thing is that this is an all too familiar pattern. He has some very good traits, most notably time in the contest and amazing awareness, but as you say his form fluctuates wildly. He tantalises with a patch of good games every single year and has the equipment to be an amazing player. My feelings toward Watts fluctuate like his performances - sometimes I'll scream for him to be traded and other times I kind of like him. There is no doubt that if he can get it together for a period of time, he's a player that we really need to hold onto. At this stage, all we can do is hope that Roos, McCartney and co have gotten through to him and he consistently performs like he did last night. If he does, people will forget the first part of his career fairly quickly I think, much the same as happened with Goddard.
  4. Better to keep them in and let them build up some momentum than constantly rotate the NQR's, in my opinion. At least until some of the other midfielders are back to fitness.
  5. Deserved it more this week, but players can only receive one nomination.
  6. Definitely. Gawn always looks creative with his taps, where as Jamar looks as though he's still trying to hit it to Moloney and Spencer doesn't seem to think about it much at all.
  7. Just shows how much we're missing Salem, Kent, Trengove and Vandenberg. That really tests our next to non-existent depth.
  8. Just watched the replay and saw 5 contested marks that he literally had in his hands, but couldn't hold onto. Not good enough for a ruckman - essentially our number one ruckman.
  9. You're all doom and gloom olisik. He'll be right mate.
  10. Much of the delivery was landing right on top of the forwards heads, just like last week. If it was a bit better I think you're right, he would have kicked a few more.
  11. He positions well, makes a contest and gets hands on them too, just can't hold onto them. Frustrating.
  12. The reasoning that it'll be the recruits of 2008 and later is probably right - these are the players that have show quite a bit early in their careers, in contrast many drafted before. They just seem to have that pizzaz, are for the most part strong bodied, skilled and have the hunger. However, how much bloody longer can people wait while these players mature to the point that they can win us games? How many more years of young kids will lose faith in the Dees and follow other sides, much to the disappointment of their parents? How much more money will the club lose through supporters dropping off and refusing to spend their hard earned money on the club? I know this is really a pointless attitude because all we can do is wait for these players to mature and improve the team, but bloody hell... I'm so sick of this clubs mistakes.
  13. The difference is, what else can we do about it other than mope and drive ourselves insane?
  14. He does do some mental stuff and tries to get way too fancy but I think if we take him from the side, we'll lose a lot of drive out of the backline.
  15. Why would you drop Lumumba? Does some crazy things at times but often he's the only one giving us run off half back. One of his better games today.
  16. Does Toumpas get another game, fence?
  17. Grimes was very good tonight, Garlett extremely ineffective. Toumpas' best game for the club and he's on his way to being a good player I believe. Jones, Vince, Viney and Brayshaw all pretty admirable in the middle at times.
  18. To be fair, Leuenberger has had some very good seasons. I would still be keen on recruiting him, but think his value could be quite modest at the moment due to his run of form and injuries. Would be a good get at a reasonable price for mine. Plus he has a killer last name!
  19. He seems to be really struggling this season though, don't think he's worth much at this point in his career.
  20. I'm interested in him as a prospect but he's hardly set the world on fire. Wouldn't want to part with much to get him, although we could be in a good position to low ball Brisbane as he's OOC. Edit: Statistically, last season wasn't bad for him at all, and he is only 19 and 7 months according to footywire.
  21. The advantage of Jamar is that he is a veteran, isn't he? So only half his salary comes under the cap. Is this still the practice?
  22. Bird could be a good suggestion. Hard nosed and hard working (I think?) player pushed out of a very good midfield. We could do much worse.
  23. Don't fret, I'm positive someone will somehow relate our languishing ruck stocks to J.Watts.
  24. Jamar: 198cm Spencer: 203cm Gawn: 208cm I don't think the height difference is all that apparent on game day. In fact, Spencer to me seems the biggest. Max needs to learn how to use those extra couple of centimetres to his advantage, although his leap has probably suffered as a result of the knee issues.
