  1. I hope our boys have 2013 in the back of their minds as they run out. If the Saints can beat them by 100, so can we. Haven't had an opportunity like this to grind a team into the ground for as long as I can remember. Let's take advantage and break them!
  2. Averages five and a half marks and just under two goals a game. I'd take those numbers over what Howe produces.
  3. So by that reasoning, lets throw out N. Jones, Viney, McDonald and every other player that was on the list when Neeld was still coach.
  4. Not sure of his contract status, but I'm a big fan of Levi Casboult. If we can't manage to wrangle a decent pick of one of the midfielders up north, Howe for Casboult?
  5. I'd like to see Garland stay and despite the torturous years he has endured, he still shows the willingness to compete and hunger to win. Howe and Jamar will go, hopefully with some decent compensation for the former.
  6. I think your reasoning makes sense rpfc, but for a player whose confidence is clearly as brittle as bone china, I think it would be best if he stayed in the side at the present time. Who knows what his form would be like coming back after being dropped again, he can be so inconsistent.
  7. I'm a bit nervous about this game to be honest. We always beat them when we're not expected to, but now that we should win... I hope we can handle the pressure of expectation!
  8. They have a whole city to themselves and their own ground, and they can't manage their finances... mind boggling.
  9. Very keen to see Harmes at senior level. I think he'll adapt himself well and should be chomping at the bit to get going after his performances in the seconds. Good job Harmesy!
  10. Don't think Zaharakis will be going anywhere IMO. He supported Essendon as a kid and is essentially their big hope in the midfield. They'll have cash to pay him. Has he shown any signs of discontent or said anything?
  11. You definitely would not have to be insane. He's a very good footballer and ferocious tackler. I would give up that pick in a heartbeat, however he wouldn't be my first choice to trade out for.
  12. Or, it could still be Roos playing the psychology game and trying to pump up his value subliminally.
  13. Has to be an out this week, surely. He's played a role in a couple of games this year but a player who has proven he has mighty talent like Howe should be performing at a much, much higher level. Just drop him and be done with it - his value is only being damaged at the moment.
  14. I continually say it but I already think WBD have absolutely shafted themselves with the Boyd deal.
  15. Maybe, but we'll have to wait and see. I wouldn't say their game plan is exactly boring, but it's repetitive because it works bloody well. They're ball movement is the best in the league this year, from what I've seen so far. Quick, their foot skills are good and Kennedy and Darling just know exactly where to lead. Very effective but as you say, we'll have to wait and see how this style fairs in September.
  16. Garlett obviously very good and hard done by in joeboy's assessment. McDonald just hasn't looked right for the last month and Dunn did what he could under such ferocious delivery from the Eagles midfield (apart from a couple of brain fades). The way the Eagles moved the ball from center clearances and on the rebound was so quick and pretty great to watch - no wonder they're up there on the ladder. Expecting 10 this week from Hogan against the Bummers.
  17. - Horrible at keeping the ball in our forward 50. We were too tall. - Losing Brayshaw killed our midfield. - Admirable efforts from the rest of the midfield, under a lot of pressure. Overall, I'm not disappointed with the effort (if we can cut out the last 15 minutes of junk time goals). Considering they're essentially a benchmark side of the competition at the moment we've come a fair way. It's hard to get overly emotional about the result after the happenings of this week.
  18. The problem with that is that he can provide really great dash out of the back half and runs bloody hard... But then often struggles to hit a target. He definitely wasn't the only one last night though. I reckon McDonald has been a bit off since he copped a heavy knock to the head against Collingwood (?).
  19. Almost tough to work out who to lose this week. Probably has to be Spencer, seeing as Gawn has more presence in the middle. That was a big mistake tonight, going in too top heavy.
  20. I'm sure the old Pencil ain't an easy guy to miss.
  21. I'm sure it was probably just wizz fizz guys, chillax.
