  1. Good on you! Are sources within the club telling you these things?
  2. Seems as though you're making a big statement with no evidence attached... Is this opinion or fact?
  3. There's no doubt there is irreparable damage caused by the last 9 years, as a large chunk of a whole generation of supporters will have turned away from the club. Winning will rejuvenate the base but these times will haunt the club for a long time in many ways, membership a very important one.
  4. Viney will be well suited to match Priddis in terms of how they play their game. If he can do as good a job on Priddis as he did on Selwood, it'll go a long way to helping us win the match. Keen to see this contest.
  5. That would be devastating news and I find it kind of hard to believe. Although he's from WA Roosy has helped Nev absolutely turn his career around and become a very good player. As well as that, I've always thought Nev looks very happy and at home with the Dees and his teammates.
  6. Motlop would be a great get, if we could wrangle it.
  7. Pretty different players, IMO. Yarran would provide some fantastic run and great skills off half back, while Jetta is a much better one on one defender. In summary, would love to have both at the Dees.
  8. A tin of VB and a pack of marlboro's does the job nicely, but I guess that just doesn't fit the bill.
  9. In all seriousness, when was the last time we had a player debut in a final? Sometime in the roaring twenties would be my guess.
  10. No, not as bad. We're much more of a chance of landing Danger.
  11. Dean is close to my favourite player. I just love the way he goes about it - tough, uncompromising and aggressive and he has deadly pace and a booming kick. Just wish we saw him on the park more. Edit: Great footage of Kent enforcing the law at about the 3.20 mark of this clip to the bottom right. Love it.
  12. His kicking will always be an issue though. We can find another player with his endurance... and proper morals.
  13. True about the mongrel in Brayshaw, we haven't seen that in a fresh starter before. Each player often has their own outstanding characteristics though and Trengove was very impressive in the air and tackled very well. Scully's was his running.
  14. We all intensely dislike him, but tell me you weren't excited like everybody else when he racked up 39 possessions in a game as a fresh faced 18 year old. We were all salivating at the prospect and then we all thought we'd been royally screwed over - little did we know, it would end up like this. Plus, I bet Phil has eaten plenty of Tom's cheques before he's had a chance to cash them.
  15. Gus and Hogan are both up there for me in terms of impressive debut seasons but people have short memories - Trengove's first season was awesome, but I suppose a little bit overshadowed by Scully's first year.
  16. Not sure about a Charlie, he'll have Hogan, Petracca, Viney and Salem at least taking votes from him...
  17. That's a bit contrived and if you go down that path, we did not give up a 10-12 year A-B grade midfielder for him. We gave up pick 23, which could have been anyone and anything. I'm personally very happy with Vince, who is exactly the kind of player we needed - mature and hungry for the contest.
  18. Not too bad, but could be a bit too top heavy for Darwin.
  19. So Hogan in the forward line and two rucks, vs Dawes in the forward line with Hogan and Gawn in the ruck? I'd prefer to have an advantage in the middle than across the half forward line, especially after seeing them click on Sunday... the midfield really reaped the rewards. Dawes is more easily covered than Spencer would be, in my opinion and that is where I'd rather have the advantage. But they may decide to go smaller in Darwin on account of the conditions.
  20. Going by Sunday, I'd prefer to keep Spencer in the side over Dawes considering the impact he had in the ruck and even up forward. He and Gawn take more marks than Dawes anyway, who wasn't that great on the weekend. So for mine, it's Hogan in for Dawes and JKH for Bail. Garland a maybe.
  21. And a new scooter as part of the package? Good to see some progress on injured players, however small it might be.
  22. Poor form if someone has just fabricated that.
  23. I think this is a very likely scenario and as a worst case, it's not too bad at all.
  24. Best case scenario for me, we win 7 more: Bombers, Lions, Saints, Magpies, Bulldogs, Blues and Giants. Doubt it would happen but I regard the rest of the games as very tough and not much likelihood of a win... but hey, we just beat the Cats at Skilled so who knows what could happen.
