  1. Jesse purchased an investment property last year in Perth. Maybe he bought another one for his brother?
  2. Like it. Dangerfield, Franklin, Fyfe, Goldstein (he's just a shade ahead of Gawn at this stage IMO) and Bontempelli. All elite, with the possible exception of Bontempelli, who would at least be on the border of that hazy definition.
  3. There are still a number of 'elite' (don't like the term) players who haven't played in a GF.
  4. Tyson looks even better when he slams home those goals from outside 50. Just can't seem to get it together over a shorter distance.
  5. Kicking left a bit to be desired, especially for Judd.. But definitely handballing was elite for both. I actually think Viney's kicking skills are judged harshly, and people put too much weight on when he boots the ball away from a stoppage at all costs.
  6. Congratulations to him. Sounds like good practice for playing alongside big Maxy.
  7. I've been waiting for this and I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised
  8. Forget any of the AFL ratings. Max Gawn is currently the 8th best ruckman in the competition according to them, a spot behind Ivan Maric.
  9. Absolutely what it comes down to. It's a buzz word and trying to measure 'elite' won't really get us anywhere I feel. Can't agree with the comparison between Jones and Pendlebury though. While he has been a little down this year, Pendles is a very, very good player and better than Jones. Murphy is extremely overrated though.
  10. I agree for the most part with this one. Tyson and TMac still hovering between the two top categories. Really don't think more time is required to make a call on Dawes though.
  11. Don't worry, stuie will find one. But I'm sure it won't be good.
  12. Strange point. If we didn't have either of the McDonald's our list management team would ensure that we'd have two different key defenders, and they could either be better or worse...
  13. Defensive effort looks as though it could lift, definitely. Yesterday was the first time I've ever seen him rag dolled on a number of times by a defender. Grundy is a big lad and has bundles of experience but usually Hogan never gives an inch. Hoping he bounces back after the bye with a couple of bags.
  14. Think the three tall backs work a little better than the top heavy forward line because of Sam Frost's run, which was okay at times. Dawes would have been first out for me and it would have made a big difference having another small running around, especially someone like ANB who has strength around the contests. Petracca could have provided that second focal point up forward. Poor selection once again IMO.
  15. I personally didn't, but he was one of our best today. Continues to develop at a steady rate.
  16. Again, bloody farcical selection. A 2 year old could tell that we went in far too tall and we've got sweet FA out of our talls forward of the defensive 50, except for Watts and Gawn.
  17. Got a lot of it and worked hard to get to the contests, but disposal was pretty poor. Having said that, the conditions were rubbish.
  18. This is definitely true. The same can be said about Viney and so many clearance players, because that's the nature of the contest around centre bounces and stoppages. But apparently none of this matters AF because you have been deemed a 'pleb'. It's all over.
  19. Stretch is playing career best footy and building nicely. There are others I'd have out before him, particularly a tall or two. Grimes will come in and I think there's a chance that either Trengove or Oliver will be rested.
  20. I agree that Watts would be at his best spending no time in the ruck. But at the moment he is definitely preferable to Dawes. When Pedersen is back (which I hope is sooner rather than later), he can resume the PT ruck duties and Watts can spend more time up forward, or coming off the wing.
  21. God this thread has degenerated. Can't we all just get along and accept that JW has improved a lot, and that we're all just secretly waiting to tear him to shreds the next time delivers a so-so performance?
