  1. Probably true OD, but he has more mongrel than almost any player in the league and considering where we've come from, I prefer that.
  2. Bonts work is no doubt noticed more due to his size and the nature of his touches, which are often at crucial points of the match. Not saying that Vineys aren't, but most of his work is in and under.
  3. Pick 27 is a great result for the Bombers. Classic form by them.
  4. Nailed it. Jesse's development so far has been absolutely phenomenal for a young key forward. Many people seem to forget that he had the best debut season for a forward in recent memory, just last year. He'll continue to develop (this takes time), physically and mentally. He'll mature, and I very much expect it to be with the Dees.
  5. Almost all of those points are Roos related for me, he's the head coach. There's no doubt we still have big issues, but the improvement has been very good considering the age profile of our list, and how disgustingly bad we were only a few years ago. I agree with your sentiment about leadership - there's no arguing with the generation gap caused by shocking drafting for a lengthy period. It's a time thing though. We've now drafted a solid crop that within a couple of years will start to fill those leadership spots far better than those before. And Vince has been poor a number of times this year, but there is no denying that trading him in has been a masterstroke. Jones was one of our best yesterday.
  6. How many other coaches could have taken us from atrocious to 10 wins in a season (and rising) in 3 years?
  7. It's strange, especially as we'll be going full tilt the next couple of weeks and probably can't afford to blood these guys now.
  8. No big deal in the scheme of trading, but it's probably a big deal for H and his health. Hope it improves for him.
  9. Great work, I now have total faith in the recruiting department. It took a while to win back though. What's his size like? Position?
  10. Weed hobbled off at one stage against the Hawks. No smoke and mirrors here.
  11. I like the drafting and trading scenarios, but too many changes for me. I don't think we need to delist or get rid of that many and I'd be inclined to keep Salem, Trengove, King, Newton, one of Dunn/Garland. We're at a point where these wholesale changes aren't required, and we need to build the list stability to have a real crack at the finals in the next few years. Removing that many players again will set us back before we move forward.
  12. Haha, just being a smartarz. But I agree, Judd was phenomenal on the field but absolutely lacking in other areas. Carlton should have kept Kennedy and spent elsewhere. Ain't hindsight a beautiful thing?
  13. Forget bringing Lobb to the MFC. The best thing about this is that he's a much more achievable target for Fremantle and will take focus from Hogan. Freo will land him.
  14. Bloody depressing, but there's been a bit of beautiful redemption in the drafting since 2012.
  15. Take nothing from this. It's the standard script that Mahoney has been (rightfully) reading for a while now. But as qwerty says, I think we are moving closer to seeing him sign. The McDonalds recommitting is only good for locking down Jesse.
  16. Has to be Gawn, but I think Jones could go close. He has been very consistent and for the most part lifts when we need him to. The coaches clearly rate him very highly. Viney missing a couple will hurt his chances.
  17. Chills down my spine when I hear the roar of the crowd again after that Stretch goal.
  18. Currently 10th on the list of the most hit outs in a season ever.
  19. It would be ignorant to assume that it would just be Fremantle trying to court Hogan anyway. His manager would be receiving plenty of approaches.
  20. His work rate is sensational. Runs bloody hard and makes good decisions. He'll be a fixture on the wing for years to come I hope.
