  1. Dawes looks very uncoordinated when he tries to mark above his head and doesn't get much of a leap on, but despite this he impacts every contest and works hard once the ball has gone to ground. He is very important to our forward line. Sidenote: Jamar and Gawn both showed great hands yesterday, something they haven't done so far this season.
  2. 2013 - 12 was a very conservative figure, only thing holding them back from delisting more would have been contracts.
  3. Quote Paul Roos - 'It is what it is'. Sack him.
  4. Watts struggles to keep his feet and he made a couple of mistakes today - the biggest I believe being when he ran directly to the bench without looking at the ball, after Dunn played on from a kick in, hoping to bomb it to Watts on the flank. That was a total loss of concentration on his behalf and cost us a goal. However he was far from our worst today and was valuable in some link up play. He has come a fair way from the last couple of years, no matter how many people still love to bash him.
  5. Match was lost in the second quarter when they let it get away from them. If any of the players expected to win having shown up for 3 quarters, they're absolute felchers. There'll be a couple of (deserved) tough days on the track this week I feel. They looked tired last week but today there was energy, just not enough of it for long enough. We just need to bring consistency every week, with the level we played at for the second half.
  6. They're all ball following again and leaving Dogs players unmarked - looks exactly like last season.
  7. I'm sure more than a couple of recruiters saw the man child Membrey as the second coming of Jack Darling and got overly excited. The Coniglio situation for me is very similar to that of Dom Tyson. Hasn't played much but is highly rated and shows flashes of being a really good young player.
  8. 50 of the hardest fought. He has the tenacity, young Neville. Good on him!
  9. And they seem to get everyone they want...
  10. Thanks for this dee_luded, most thought provoking topic I've read on here! My partner is a vegetarian and I find myself eating less meat the more I hear about animal abuse and live export though I don't think I'll ever be able to pass up a good steak or veal schnitzel. I read a fair bit about animal rights too, thanks to a few friends who are right into it though I hadn't heard about this particular issue. I'll definitely be focussing my meat diet on red from now on.
  11. Libba definitely has to be watched, especially in close. He's an absolute clearance machine and without him (and Cooney and Griffin) they won't have many other threatening ball winners.
  12. And I'm sure footy hasn't changed at all since you last played...
  13. No need to apologise for differing opinions... I agree with what you're saying to an extent - there were plenty of unplugged gaps for the forwards to lead into but there was nothing stopping Jetta putting on a bit of body early to stop his pace or put him off balance, instead of standing a few feet off him.
  14. Jetta has been great in recent weeks but your blind love for him is staggering. He didn't respect Nahas as he should have and was soundly beaten by him (when on the ground). It wasn't a horrible game from Nev, he just dropped a notch. I'd expect him back to his best next week.
  15. Seriously? Viney and Tyson are two of our best extractors. Their inconsistencies can be put down to age and inexperience but if you took both of them out of the middle, we'd be far worse off with only Jones and Vince doing the dirty work. One or two more experienced, similar players to Vince would do wonders for our side at the moment.
  16. Grimley's been on the list for a fair while and hasn't done much of note so far. Still, he's a big unit so may be starting to come along. Edit: After watching a few Blues games this year, I'd be after Levi Casboult as another tall to bolster the stocks. Huge bloke and takes a mean mark.
  17. God I hate losing to North. Especially when three of my most hated players in the league (Harvey, Lindsay Thomas and Thompson) wear that putrid jumper. They played reasonably well, we played rubbish and they just outworked us. Positive - aside from that 6 goal burst in the third we matched it with them. They're an overrated outfit though with people talking of top four. They have a very working class list with their only outstanding 'gun' players for me being Harvey, Petrie and occasionally Swallow. Bland otherwise.
  18. Good kick when he actually has the ball in his hands, which isn't nearly often enough.
  19. You're probably right but I'd rather we use Jones more offensively as going on current form, no one else really breaks lines like him.
  20. I just pray that will be me one day. There's no winning with grace in footy. When your team wins, you give it to the other supporters as much as you can because it comes back the other way, we all know that.
  21. I can only afford to pay for one additional membership and that one was going to the dog.
  22. Brutal but effective! You are like a modern day Josef Stalin.
  23. Here's hoping Jaz! At least now I should avoid the struggle of convincing the kids (one day) to go for the Dees.
