  1. Our list this year is a vast improvement on what it was last season. Now that is sad, but it is progress nonetheless.
  2. Looked a bit that way but I don't think he was actually crying. Probably just disappointed he was subbed out - which is fair enough.
  3. 'Free kick Joel Selwood'... how many bloody times do we have to hear that over the mic?
  4. Actually I do know quite a few, I've probably just had a good run with them! I find that exact attitude that you've described is standard among Hawks supporters.
  5. I find Geelong supporters to be pretty humble in my experiences. It's Hawthorn and Richmond supporters who really give me the shits...
  6. Great news on McDonald but Barry is an interesting one. I really thought he'd be in trouble at the expiry of his contract but it's good to see that Roosy must see a bit in him as a player.
  7. I agree with what you are saying here, apart from the bolded. This is true in some cases but not all, I believe. It brings up the perpetual debate of recruiting vs development and I think development is a serious factor, especially under Neeld.
  8. I feel that these reviews are a direct result of Roos trying to instil the same culture here as he did at Sydney, a culture of working hard to improve and being harsh on oneself. It is brutal and if you really listened to Sydney's players on the ground while Roos was coach, they'd scream at each other, swear at each other and really lift each other to improve their game on the day. They would have got brutally honest treatment from the coach too though at the same time there'd be nurturing and development. It might not be the kindest culture but those who couldn't deal with it wouldn't last. I like it, for it creates a tough atmosphere and I think a number won't last.
  9. Despite Saty's trolling on matters like these, I really do appreciate his training reports and I don't believe he has much to gain by warping the truth around training and what players might be saying or doing. They usually align with the reports of other posters anyway.
  10. And even though they may be performing well now doesn't mean people were wrong to be potting them when they were genuinely struggling, which all three were at some point or another.
  11. But the majority of posters' sentiment (which you seem unable to handle) is that many of the players just aren't good enough, which seems to be reflected in the results and match reports/interviews of both Brett Allison and Paul Roos .
  12. We had a reasonable one in Wonaemirri when he was actually on the field and fit, which wasn't nearly enough. In regards to the whole 'rubbish list' thing, it's plain that the list is pretty much trash and only marginally better than last season. We have at least 15 players who currently aren't up to it. A club which is going to be successful can't afford to carry that much dead weight. I can't believe delusional people (mainly Satyriconhome) continue to champion the fact that we'll be good with very few changes - it won't happen, many of these players have been on the list for a number of years and just haven't developed. There comes a point where you have to say, enough is enough and cut them to start over. That time is this year for a number of players and although I may have a soft spot for a couple I won't be sad to see them go, as it will only advance the fortunes of the club.
  13. The sky must be falling - you're talking some sense for once, h_h. Riewoldt would be a poor choice to pursue. Sure he kicks goals but that's all he really does, and he is mentally weak as well as a sook. Shoring up the midfield is the way to go, with a young, prospective key position player as the icing on the cake.
  14. He didn't have too much of an issue with his role pre-Neeld, when he was playing quite well. Hasn't it been established that most of the players had great difficulty in understanding what they were doing under Neeld. I think that was pretty obvious from how 'well' they were all playing under him.
  15. I would prefer that Chip stayed with us, simply because he is a good quality player and we need all the good quality players we can get. If he goes however, I think we can cover him (as long as McDonald doesn't go anywhere). I have no doubt though that Chip will be regretting his decision to leave (if that is the outcome) when he lines up on Jesse Hogan in the near future.
  16. Feel free to go and start your own club down there with your non existent commission, HD. I think the rest of us will stay here with the Melbourne Demons, a club that will be located in this city for a long time yet. You're a dead set bell end.
  17. Ethiopia must be an awesome experience. I trust you are spreading the good news of the oval shaped ball to the locals while you're over there?
  18. Tom Liberatore seems to go pretty unnoticed, even though his stats are very impressive and his contested ball work is as good as, if not better than any in the above list. Viney did a terrific job on him on Sunday.
  19. Farmer was the most exciting player we've had in recent memory. Here's a toughie - who was more exciting, Farmer or Jakovich?
  20. St Kilda will be the side to watch. With so many older players on the way out they'll be doing all they can to better their picks.
  21. Just careless by Neville. Morris is bloody stiff.
  22. Seeing as we've been tracking Billy Stretch from the age of 13, I thought it appropriate we get in early on Bobbi 'Little Chunk' Jones. With the AFL likely to turn unisex by the year 2025, Bobbi will be in the Demons sights as a father/child pick in the 2031 or 2032 AFL national draft. Already touted as a top 10 prospect, Bobbi is said to display the same vicious attack on the ball as her father Nathan, and uncle Zak. The medical reports have indicated she may grow to 195cm, throwing her name up as a potential key position prospect. I believe she is also booked in to receive her first tattoo, also continuing a family tradition. Any match reports or further information on this excellent prospect should be posted here.
