In 2013 a B&F winner in a 4th tier comp would have been a walk up start in our midfield. I'm going to stick my neck out somewhat and say that barring injury, Michie will be picked before McKenzie, Bail and Evans in 2014. Having said that, the decision to select a player each week is based on far more than just comparing them to their peers.

If my memory serves me correctly, Marc Murphy turned his back on Bris as a F/S to go in the draft to Carlton (and a big paper bag stuffed with $ no doubt). Has anyone else done this?

Except this puts us ahead of Chip and GC in the power pecking order, which is not what FA was designed for. It's supposed to be about long serving players given the opportunity to move with greater ease to the club of their choice.

I'd think the AFL would like the FA system to be simple and pretty much B&W. They'd hate these twists and turns to occur with a valuable player. It might be seen as manipulating the spirit of free agency. IMHO GC and Melbourne would be told make an offer, match the offer or don't, and leave it at that. Are there any other FAs of note that have got to another club by nominating for ND, PSD or trade rather than use the FA system?

Don't think he needs to go not the PSD, he can simply name his club and amount, we can either match it or choose not to. PSD doesn't come into the equation rpfc, from what I understand.

We really need Clark and Dawes fit and firing to give Jesse the support he needs in his first senior year. As the third tall in his first year he'd be 2nd to none.

Possibly D2014, but IIRC that was one short lived season, and mostly against similar or lower placed sides. I don't believe MOloney scored well in the Brownlow against top 6 sides that year. Flat track bully? And Jamar has had one year out of 10 where he's performed as we would expect from the 1st ruck. They should have been our 'Cox and Kerr combo' by now.
