  1. And Wingard as well. It's our duty as a responsible club
  2. Regularly mentioned that he had a ridiculous line dancing technique but has modified it to be much more moderate and smooth. If Jesse could modify his not to look like a hopscotch game we'd all breathe a sign of relief and he'd probably kick more than 78 goals next year, which is what Jack Riewoldt kicked in his 4th year on an AFL list. If Jesse kicked 78 or more there would also be a stack of crumb goals for Jeffy and Kent, not to mention the give offs to Watts, Weed, Pedo, etc. We'd make the 8. Surely we would all be pleased with playing finals footy in 2017. Surely....
  3. Think you need to move to Romsey manor Biff. I hear BBO has a gimp room that needs occupying. The only traffic there is the illegal kind, of which you may already know
  4. Got your autograph book and 35mm filum camera with you Biff?
  5. One bag of 7 in 2 years doesn't mean it's a good set shot routine, I went to a number of games where he missed simple goals with that action that should've given him many more bags of 7. He's not the only one who misses goals, but he's our key forward and a major KPI for him is goals kicked. When Jesse is having a set shot at goal, 'sharing the goals around' or 'goal assists' are irrelevant at that moment. He needs the best routine to kick the goal. The stuttering 2015/16 routine is not that, and it's pretty obvious to most observers. But I'll agree to disagree and leave it there, as this is a training thread, I'll get called for derailing. I look forward to seeing for myself in January.
  6. Hogan's set shot routine will no doubt be something he refines over the preseason. I find it amusing that there are still punters who can't see it needs improving. He's young and kicked 40 odd goals the last two years, but his accuracy could undeniably improve in 2017 with a steady action that doesn't look like he's playing hopscotch. Not comparing their game, but if Gawn can aim to be the no 1 ruck in the comp and do it, then Hogan can refine his set shot and aim for avg 4 goals per game in 2017, and keep up his goal assist stats. Given his abundant talent and value to the team as a key forward I don't believe it unrealistic. I'm glad to hear from track watchers that his action looks much smoother this preseason. I'll be going to a few sessions over January and am eager to find out myself. Thanks for the reports.
  7. If his 2016 goal was to be the no 1 ruck in the comp, what will his 2017+ goal be? Best over the next 5 years?
  8. Wayne you are the bomb. Insightful, personal and informative with no superfluity. You and Deespencer are invaluable on these threads. Much appreciated.
  9. With her ball boy Earl. Geez, do you not know anything?
  10. End of the line for Jack Grimes, Chris Dawes and Mitch Clark?
  11. Maybe next year for Brayshaw. A year in VFL may do him good.
  12. Slight aside, but I'd like to see an aerobic running comp between Daniel Cross and 8 or 10 of the fittest guys across the AFL. Reckon Crossy would do quite well.
  13. As yet he hasn't exactly ranted and raved himself on this matter (for once). It's been the press and the club/club players making all the noise. It's a shame that that the tight lips policy the club has employed over the last few years hasn't been able to resolve this matter without the need for it to be paraded through the media circus. If true, the situation reflects very poorly on H, but IMO we do not come out smelling like roses either.
  14. Was it actually 3km or a time trial around Princes Park, which is 3.2km?
  15. I buy a cap occasionally. Would rather spend the money on membership upgrade or similar. The range and styling of some of the new stuff is tempting though, especially those ugly snow jumpers. It's all a bit exy IMO for what it is. I give away the membership scarf to a kid in the hood who I think I can convert. Usually ends up at an op shop i suspect.
  16. Prodee is MIA as well. However, Uncle Bitter is back from his 50 lashes and 14 day solitary confinement.
  17. You're not going to go picture crazy again are you Toady? Remember what happened last time?
  18. I'm not calling you a cynic at all od. But am I to take from your post that we shouldn't believe what the club says? As I've said in other threads, H could be doing running, cycling, swimming, weights, etc. with the club's consent. We just don't know what shape he will be in until we see or hear further. I don't know one way or the other, but I'm not going to jump to an 'us vs him' conclusion just yet. Wed all like to see him minimise risk, as well as turn up on the track fit and firing to go. I'll leave it at that as this is a training thread.
  19. Really? Josh Mahoney today: "We have been very diligent with our concussion management and we are supportive of Heritier gathering this information." ...the Demons say a delayed start to training is of no concern. Sure I'm concerned that H may retire soon or may not play for the club again or that we could possibly fill that spot with a DFA, yadda yadda.... But I'd be more concerned if we played him and and he did even more damage. Both the player and the club must feel satisfied with the medical outcome. The club is supportive, which is the key word IMO. Thanks to those on the ground for more great training reports. Love the lace out comment by Lewis.
