As a general comparison (and I emphasise general) Clarkson and Hardwick go at 60% and 58% respectively. Goodwin is 49%

Game day and I’m really looking forward to it. I can’t decide between which team we are a). We beat this team on their home patch just two weeks ago. We are the form team of the comp. We will have the home crowd. We should win ....... so like countless Melbourne teams before them they are bound to disappoint or b). This Melbourne team has belief, a great structure and a hard edge that will see them come out on top.

Freo had a Carltonesque draw. They played Gold Coast, GWS and West Coast twice. They did sneak past the Blues by 4 points but have lost to Brisbane, North and us along the way. In fact the only top 6 side Freo have beaten were Adelaide when the Crows kicked 1.7 all the way back in Rnd 3. Of course anything can happen but after 2 losses on the trot Freo won’t be brimming with confidence. With them having to travel on consecutive weeks the game will be there for us to win.

Goodwin is in his fifth year of senior coaching and has been with us since the end of 2014. He has an awesome list that has dreadfully underperformed. We should be aiming for a top 6 finish. The start to the season has been great but it is well and truly time his team stepped up

Think Birch has to share in some of the blame for that kick. I’m guessing she called for it and being the senior player Tarrant would have felt somewhat obliged. Also Birch’s attempted tackle on the Freo player was half hearted at best which was possibly why the Freo player put the goal on Birch’s shoulders.

35° heat, a hostile crowd, in Perth, some ‘inconsistent’ umpiring decisions, against a team sitting 2nd on the ladder who doesn’t get beaten at home. And we roll them. It must give the team great confidence to get that win. I, like I’m sure many here, thought we would get run over towards the end but we gutsed it out. This team has some character. And to the AFL, who has manipulated a Carlton fixture that has included ALL the bottom teams whilst we have played ALL the top teams, put that in your pipe and smoke it! We are playing finals baby!!
