  1. Mithen D Pearce Hanks West. Love the way in contests she rips the ball out of the oppositions hands. She may halve but rarely loses a contest. Reliable. Kicking still suspect but has immeasurably improved since the beginning of the year. L Pearce Edit. Added West comment because she is fast becoming a favourite player
  2. Whilst different ‘characters’ it also explains why Gawn is universally admired. Max is a true original who isn’t afraid to be himself. He also encourages this trait in others and that makes you like him even more
  3. I hate the Bombers above all others, I like Tippa. I am glad he is back
  4. Rohan really was awful wasn’t he. I sort of wondered if he was actually injured when he got replaced or just embarrassed
  5. Fair enough. It was always going to be hard for Eddie to admit that the Queens Birthday match this year would be Collingwood’s Grand Final.
  6. Yes, much like the mens team, it is easy to see that roles are being embraced. Unlike the boys I am unsure if we can beat everyone but the girls won’t die wondering that’s for sure
  7. Funnily enough, despite a million wins in a row, I don’t actually think we learnt to play Casey that well. Just a bit better than the opposition. There is an opportunity here. I am in furious agreement with @Meggs and @BDA it would be a handy time for Hore to get back to her AA best. Zanker and Scott to play to their potential too please. If we get an even contribution from the first bounce then we win. Oh and please let’s not concede a goal in the first two minutes like we normally do.
  8. Possibly our strongest side for the year. I would have had Fitzsimmons in for Parry as I don’t think Parry adds anything. She is obviously performing some role though as she keeps getting selected
  9. Yes when Charlie Cameron is on fire he can make nearly every AFL defender look a bit silly.
  10. The can’t have won a flag criteria may count Ronald Dale out of this discussion, particularly as he has 10. Isn’t having ten premierships to your name just extraordinary. Mind blowing really
  11. My favourite bit was where Scott says “The last thing I want is for it to be perceived like we are making excuses” to which Damian Barrett replies “I don’t think anyone sees it that way” Fair to say that Barrett didn’t ask me if I thought Scott was making an excuse!
  12. Watching the Prelim with the SEN commentary. Gerard Healey calling non free kicks for Geelong whilst frees the we get are lucky. I can’t work out if he dislikes Melbourne more than I dislike him
  13. "They (Melbourne) were obviously the best in the competition at doing that with their defence and we're looking to emulate that in the way we're playing."said Crows Ruckman, Reilly O’Brien First time I’ve ever heard of a team wanting to emulate us. It feels good
  14. This will do for me too
  15. Pearce, Zanker, Hore, Bannon, Parry, West have collectively done 2/5ths of FA. Oh and Mithen too
  16. Just skipped through to see if you had Robbie at #1. I’ll have a proper read now. It has been a great series of threads. Probably one of the best in my decade plus of being on here. Thank you Deespicable. Awesome work
  17. 5. Hanks 4. L. Pearce 3. Harris 2. Birch 1. Hore
  18. Parry had better improve in the next 3 quarters or she will be a doubtful starter next week
  19. Early days but I reckon on current form Adelaide would be flag favourites atm Freo will be stuck out of home for a while and perhaps that may work against them? Reckon that whilst our girls will be playing todays game on its merits, they will already have one eye on next weeks clash against the Crows in Adelaide.
  20. Aside from Mithen it’s a strong line up we will put out. The two ex Demons playing for the Saints - Cat Phillips and Bianca Jakobsson - are going to have their hands full. It should be a regulation win for Melbourne over an undermanned Saints outfit Then off to Adelaide to play the undefeated Crows. That’ll be big
  21. 5. McNamara 4. Paxman 3. Hore 2. Hanks 1. Birch
  22. And after 3 flags it’s hard to see them having the hunger needed to get back to being top of the tree.
  23. The thing most likely to stop us being top 4 again won’t be other sides but injuries in our own. Like the Tigers during their flag years and the Swans in their one we were incredibly lucky with our injury run last year.
