  1. One team has a big prize if they win, the other team has key outs and their season is done and dusted = Rnd 23 2017.
  2. I had beers with a couple of Taswegians last night. One barracks for Hawthorn, the other the Saints. Both said they had barracked for the same club all their lives and wouldn’t swap to a new Tasmanian based club. I assume the Melbourne supporting Tasmanians on here feel the same. It would take a generation or more to get most on board.
  3. Personally I’m glad the Club has given him another year. I want to see what he can do with all those athletic gifts if he can get a full pre-season without injuries. It’s not much of a sample but one of the Casey games I saw him play his kicking seemed much improved.
  4. NicNat is a cameo footballer. He does a couple of neat things in the first few minutes of the quarter and then you don’t see him till the next quarter.
  5. My favourite stat from tonight, aside from the scoreboard, was working out that Luke Jackson is still just 19 years old. Freak.
  6. Bowey a future 200 gamer.
  7. Excuse my ignorance but there is some crowd at the Dockers match. What’s happening at our game? I just assumed no crowd
  8. Really good interview here. Considering all the crap parts of society have put her through Tayla comes across as open, thoughtful and very much the team player. https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/994644/i-m-all-in-harris
  9. Eddie Betts in the W.A Today “As AFL players, we are educated on this every single year. Every single year, we go through racial vilification awareness. So every single player knows it. Every single person that gets drafted knows it.” This is what I don’t understand about Walker’s comments. He has been privileged enough to have more information about indigenous disadvantage than probably 98% of the population. He has played with and against and, no doubt, been friends with many indigenous players since being crafted as a 17 yo. He has been lucky to play alongside (literally) one of the great players and roles models in Eddie Betts. How Taylor can still hold these racist views is astounding
  10. Don’t feel bad about being pro Toby. He is pretty much the funnest player to watch in the AFL when he isn’t playing your team Plus he hit Dangerfield which makes Tobes even more loveable
  11. Perhaps around the other way Lucifer?
  12. That was the absolute pinnacle of woeful decisions amongst a mountain of woeful decisions. He (In my head I thought it was Sylvia) got rubbed out because IF he had of connected it MAY have been dangerous. Just a shocker. Maintain that rage Wrecker.
  13. Whilst this season we have lost tall players in Tegan Cunningham (183cm) and Meg Downie (176cm) we have gained some serious height over the past 2 drafts. Last year we bought Maggie Caris (190cm), Isabella Simmons (184) and Alyssa Bannon (177cm) while topping up this year with Georgia Campbell (182cm), Tahlia Gillard (190cm) and Ali Brown (177). We can add Tayla Harris (177cm) into this Land of the Giants. Hopefully a couple of them will prove to be as mobile, skilful and athletic as they are tall.
  14. I hate the Cats (real cats too) and went straight to outrage when I read the story on the AFL site but I couldn’t maintain it when I realised that a home team wanted to play match at home instead of away. Seems reasonable
  15. I am still up about this game six days later. To win away from home, in a hostile environment and against a good team with a fair bit to prove was fantastic. It is up there I reckon with the Bulldogs game for the best win of the year
  16. I just looked at the ladder. Richmond are 12 th. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha haa
  17. Here’s a sentence you don’t see often. Joel Smith’s kicking has been good today
  18. Salem is back in town!
  19. I know there are arguments for a Melbourne win but I don’t give us a chance. I’m guessing it’s my MFCSS kicking in.
  20. GO THE SUNS!!
  21. Yes I know I’m being Capt Obvious but it will depend on which team hits September in top form and relatively injury free. We are as good as chance as anyone.
  22. Love, love the Jetta goal at the end and how they get round him. One of my all time favourite Melbourne players
  23. You can rule a line through the Tigers for the season. On his post match coaches interview Dimma saying that injuries to crucial players have impacted the team. Actually he said he didn’t want to blame injuries but ….. If players believe the coach thinks they can’t win without certain team mates on the ground then they are knackered. It is why you don’t hear coaches blaming injuries
  24. Great call Poita, nailed it!
  25. Essendon are my most hated team but I like Zac Merrett as a player and I like that he has stuck with his mates. Will finish as a one team player and that is to be admired I reckon
