  1. Thanks for your updates Dee’s in October. It is appreciated
  2. Bevo on Melbourne Even though we had 7 or 8 more inside 50’s they were by far the better team Melbourne constantly put themselves in good positions We were expecting at some point to get a run on, we have been able to out-work sides but, credit to Melbourne, tonight they had most of the bases covered It was only a 28 point loss but it felt more than that. One of the challenges playing Melbourne as we transition forward we couldn’t win enough of the contests forward. They out numbered us too well
  3. How good is it to wake up Saturday morning, sitting prettying at the top of the ladder while all the other teams still have to battle for the minor placings?
  4. James Harmes best game in a long time
  5. Going to Melbourne matches in the late ‘70’s early 80’s Robbie Flower would do things that other players weren’t capable of. He was on a different level, not every game, but most. Watching the Adelaide replay Oliver also has that ability to look like he is playing in a different league. He is not as polished or skilled by foot as Flower but can do stuff that merely good players would not entertain. Petracca reminds me of a young Tim Watson who no one could tackle
  6. Adelaide forecast for 4pm Saturday 19°, light winds, 0% chance of rain. Could go (very) tall?
  7. According to the MFC site Jackson is a definite starter. Which tall makes way? Very happy not to be a selector this week
  8. The women’s comp has proved to be a massive learning curve for everyone involved. Mick Stinnear, I believe, has a winning record in all of the 5 seasons he has coached. It could also be argued that he was the AFLW coach of the year last year given the draw we were given. From the outside looking in he seems to command great respect from his players Aside from the optics of having a female coach are there any other reasons you’d like to change coaches?
  9. Whinging at the umpires is as much of the game as the high mark. It will never be fixed.
  10. So this is what it’s like being an AFL love child club Rnd 11. Friday night match Rnd 12. Friday night match Rnd 13. Monday QB holiday match Rnd 14. Bye Rnd 15. Saturday night match All matches on free to air, no Sunday games = More eyeballs watching us. For once we are actually giving our sponsors good value.
  11. You’d have to think if Brown gets a full season he would go close
  12. And well done to us Demonlanders as a collective. 4 pages in and no one has said “drop Petty, bring in Weid”
  13. And currently 2 games clear with the Bulldogs playing tomorrow
  14. Watching Ronald Dale singing the song was wonderful
  15. Totally agree. Much like Skinner had a temperament that better suited the Bombers.
  16. Putting aside what Kozzie offers on the field, in my 50 odd years of supporting this club we have never had such a marketable players. Between Gawn, Petracca and Kozzie there should be real opportunities for the club to gain sponsors and supporters. There are going to be lots of kids wearing jumpers with 5, 11 and 36 on the back of them. Actually you can throw Jackson into that mix too
  17. Wasn’t there briefly a 3rd site too? Ology, Land and another Also I think there was some stat about Demonland being the most active of all supporter sites or had more visits a day than AFL.com, something like that
  18. The Pies obviously need to find a key forward but their mids are even more of a priority with both Pendles and Sidebottom close to the end. They will leave a huge hole. Think someone like Treloar would be perfect for them.
  19. It was Barry Hallesque. Forget about the short term suspension, Paddy will carry that with him for decades
  20. Got this from a Collingwood supporting friend
  21. North have now played 4 of the top 5 sides - Geelong, Port, Western Bulldogs and Us - plus Adelaide when they were good and Freo at Freo and Suns on the Gold Coast. They are probably a way better side than they are being credit for and must be more than a sneaky chance to roll the Pies next week. And how good would that be!
  22. If that’s the case I wonder which one of Chandler, Baker or Jones gets a run?
  23. I know 2/5ths of bugger all about the North players but if their backs line up as named there will be some serious mismatch’s. Bonar, McKay, Atley and Ziebell are all 188/189cm, Hall is 185 and Walker the lone tall at 197. They could be both too short for McDonald, Brown and Jackson and too tall for Kozzie, Spargo and ANB.
  24. I don’t watch enough Dogs games to know if it is always the case but Caleb Daniel looked like their most important player. He sets up the play for them and always puts players into better positions. Stats sometimes inflate a player’s importance but his 34 disposals last night at 91%m if anything, undersells him. When we play them I’d be putting ANB on him as a hard tag. Take away Daniel and the Bulldogs will struggle
  25. You have to handle it to the Cat supporting Whately for that call. If I was commentating that and my team was about to face certain finals elimination it would sound something like “ [censored], [censored]! miss it you [censored] “
